Wasn't that life threatening.
Fri, 1 August 2008

It's really steamy and hot in Tokyo and it's common among us, Japanese, to talk about something scary during the summer to "chill". I thought I'd share something I recently experienced. As mentioned, I am "sensitive" in that area. A (My boyfriend) and I went on a weekend trip last weekend. Just one night stay in this mountain area. It was a pricy sophisticated Japanese hotel. However, I felt something uncomfy when we entered the room. I tried not to mention it to A since he would freak out. Usually, when I feel "something" uncomfortable in the hotel room, I usually ask a front clerk to change the room because my sense is accurate but who could give up this beautiful view and the bath like this? So I didn't do anything and try not to care. I sensed there was someone present. After dinner and tons of drinks and mind numbing "snuggling" with A(heh), I passed out. However, I sensed another person present in our room in the middle of the night. I wasn't scared but was annoyed by that presense. So I pulled my bed sheet over my head and not to care. After awhile, I felt his body weight on me and heavy breathing very close to my ear. I knew it wasn't A because I could hear his slight breathing from a different spot where he was supposed to be and A is a skinny guy so he shouldn't be that heavy.
I was wide awake but closed my eyes and chanted buddhist thingies by hoping it would disappear. However, my instant-trained chant I learnt during the monk training last year wasn't helpful. The guy's face was so pushed against me through the sheet and I could totally feel the lips moving on my left ear through the sheet when this guy whispered "no, you cannot ignore me even if you try." So I opened my eyes and tried to look at the guy. It was a farmer killed by a Samurai like 500 years ago. I was trying to be nice but he was a very angry spirit.. I tried to calm him down but it didn't work and he grabbed my neck. That's when I passed out. I thought I'd die. In the following morning, A woke me up. He asked "what happened to you? Did I do that?" I wasn't sure what he was referring to. It turned out I had a bruise on my neck where that farmer grabbed. I still have it now but I hope it will go away. We had a morning bath and breakfast and left. I don't think I will go back there even if the view was so fantastic. I wear a linen scarf even if it's steamy these days because the bruise is really painful looking... anyway... stay away from those angry people. Have a wonderful weekend!

Weird Vacation
Sun, 29 June 2008

So I am here at the airport lounge and waiting for the plane to board. It's a weird vacation. I couldn't wait for this. I will be away from Japan for two weeks but I will be working for a week and vacation for another week. I wish I could have a two week long vacation though :-( Anyway.... This airport lounge rocks because you can have fake sushi and let me say this is great if you don't keep your hopes up. No, this is not a sushi restaurant so you cannot expect real sushi. Anyway I am full now. I wanted to share another cool thing in this lounge but I don't have a lot of time to edit the movie now. I will upload later. Anyway, for the first one week, I will be on vacation. (well, I will have to work on the very first day though...) and will have to go on a biz trip for another week. Anyway, I shall blog tomorrow or so. Yeah, I have started blogging again. Anyway, I wish you a fantabulous brand new week! Later.

Tue, 25 March 2008
So I talked about Amsterdam and shared some things here on this blog. There is nothing new for this post actually. But let's face it. It's all about "non-exciting". Now, I am unpacked and am ready to go back to that sad work place. I wish you a wonderful week!

Food travel? sorry...
Sun, 23 March 2008
I know Jon would hate this post so much but I seem to talk about food too much. For the record, I don't wanna do food critic thingies because everybody has a different taste. One thing s/he thinks good about may not be good for another. But I just enjoyed it so I thought I'd share. Yeah. I seem to talk about food so much.... Sorry. Have a good weekend!Posted by Shigeki at 04:49 PM | Comments (7) | TrackBack (0)

Sat, 5 January 2008
The date is still the 4th here but it's the 5th. So I treat this post as dated 5th :) Anyway, it's only a weekend trip so I didn't have a lot of time and didn't bring my usual digital camera so this is all I can get so far. I am now relaxing in my hotel room watching TV 2 (duex) and trying to catch the words I know :) Have a wonderful 1st week of Year 2008!!!Posted by Shigeki at 02:20 AM | Comments (9) | TrackBack (0)

Back in Tokyo :-)
Wed, 20 June 2007
I am blogging from the airport. I just went through the immigration. Another one and a half hour travel back to the city. How fun... OH MY GOODNESS! It's freaking humid already here in Tokyo. But I guess it's good for my skin after spending some time in dry Europe with hard water :-) But it's not as hot as I thought it would be. I am sure it will be super hot later in July or August :-)Anyway, I have a big announcement to make on Friday. well, it may not be big at all for you but it is to me :-) Yay. Anyway, you have a fantabulous Wednesday!!!!

Tue, 19 June 2007
When I distributed chicken or beef up in the air, I used to come to this airport a lot and found this announcement funny. I thought I was going to share this finaly as I had time at the airport. :-) I love how straight forward it could get. It basically means "Don't fuck with us"I know I should have used Youtube but since I am a control bitch on my blog, I like creating original even if it's crappy :-( I will upload some more photos from Amsterdam after arriving in Tokyo today/tomorrow. you have a fantabulous day/night!!!

re-travelling :-)
Mon, 11 June 2007

The last week's trip to the United States of America was so nice. I did hang out with friends all the time and it's a different trip since I usually travel alone. It was great. It was great that I learnt so many things about Tuberculosis as well. However, I love travelling alone, too. Don't get me wrong. It was great but I feel like I should make a trip alone this time to clear my head. So that's what I am doing this time. :-) No friends. Just me. You see if you are alone, you have to do things by yourself and you are very exposed to local cultures so you get to learn so many things and observe things you wouldn't be able to if you travel with someone. Yes, you might make mistakes but that's the risk you have to take. :-) Anyway, today, I will fly to the major city and then stay there for the night. Tomorrow, I will go to this isolated part of the country. So I am n ot sure if there is going to be any internet access available tomorrow. I am hoping I can update my blog from the destination as this has been always the place I wanted to go to in my whole life. :-) But if I couldn't, I will definitely update from another destination the day after tomorrow. Until either tomorrow or the day after, you have a fantabulous day!

Sat, 24 March 2007
Actually, when I went to college in Seattle, I actually drove down here to San Francisco for the spring break with some college dudes. Back then, we did touristy thingies. I even went to a straight club. :-) This time, it's more relaxing and not stupid like the one I had 10 years ago :-0 Anyway, you have wonderful weekend!!!

I didn't leave my heart here as I have never lived here before. But since it's close to Japan, I've been here a lot of times. I like this city because people are friendly and wine is nice here. I am so jetlagged right now and I will take a nap. If there are any other photos to share, I shall tomorrow or the day after. Until then... you have a super fantastic weekend!!!

Boring slides (Since I didn't do much yesterday)
Fri, 5 January 2007
It occurred to me after creating this mind-numbing boring slides (I am sorry I didn't take photos and all I did yesterday after arriving at the hotel was sleep.), I realized I didn't mention the name of the city... My body clock has been adjusted and I am going out for lunch with this person (no, he is so straight. Thank you very much. it's more like a business thingy?) I will upload some more with a little more interesting (but still non-exciting) photos!Have a fantabulous FIRST weekend of year 2007!

The very first vacation of 2007 already?
Thu, 4 January 2007

So this is supposed to be the last day of the year end/new year's holiday. I am finally free from the family traditional event thingies... Yay. I assume many of us go back to work from tomorrow. Yet, January 8th is another national holiday so we get a three day weekend right after working for a day. That's rediculous so I thought I was going to take a day off on the 5th. Better yet, why not take another week off to delay my first working day as I really really really have to use my paid vacation days before I leave in three months. :-) So I am vacationing from today for about a week. :-) I requested my vacation two weeks ago so this is totally okay and I am not a hard worker anymore anyway. :-) I am at the airport waiting to board the plane. I believe I will change the clock on this web later when I arrive there. If there is anything interesting, I will post something from the destination. Signing off from Tokyo, Japan. :-) Have a fantabulous Thursday!

A few dumb thoughts after the last trip this year.
Wed, 20 December 2006

I am so back in Tokyo and working.... After telling my boss that I'd be leaving, I way passed the point where I was so interested in what I had been doing here. I have no motivation to do any better work. But I still work anyway. This is not good. I should act pretty and deligent like I always did even if my actual work is not much. Anyway... I came to work directly from the airport this morning and I feel like I am still on a personal vacation day but nope. :-( Here's what I have thought during the stay. 1. I should at least try to speak other languages on "I-can-go-shopping-and-buy-what-I-exactly-want" level. So I bought a touristy language book for German, Italian, and Spanish. I am not sure when I will finish but I am trying... Well, actually, I'd love to talk dirty in some languages, too.. :-)
2. I realized whenever I pay for things I buy or eat at the cashier, a clerk there in Amsterdam always goes "XX Euros XX cents, please" in fluent English. I mean they always add "please" at the end. I find it nice compared with just getting informed about the amount I owe. :-)
3. Around the baggage claim for the flight from Amsterdam, they always increase the number of drug detecting dogs for this specific flights because many Japanese tourists go to Amsterdam for a very specific purpose. I don't mind those dogs sniffing my luggage. What I do mind is when they pee near my luggage!!! I didn't bring anything illegal. Darn.

My Third home city?
Mon, 18 December 2006
Well, close enough. But not quite :-) I think I saw the most beautiful man on earth last night. Or maybe, I was too drunk. I don't know. I think I am going to stay one more day here in Amsterdam. I am not ready to go back to work from tomorrow.. nope... :-) I have to use my paid vacations days as many as possible! Anyway.... Have a fantabulous week!!!

The intoxicating language... :-)
Fri, 15 December 2006
To be honest, this language sounds a lot sexier than French in my personal opinion. I have no idea why... Anyway, this is my last day here in this city so I will upload something from Amsterdam later this weekend or next week. Until then... Have a fantabulous weekend!!!!

Extended weekend. :-)
Thu, 14 December 2006

I guess I didn't explain it right yesterday. I haven't quit my job yet. I told my boss the other day I'd be leaving soon. You know, techinical transfer thingy has to be done before I leave... Anyway it occurred to me I was at this airport on the same date last year... I guess it's a habit that I make a trip around this time of the year then. However, surprisingly, this year, I have travelled less for leisure whether you believe it or not. Since I really have to use paid vacation days before I quit, I decided to make a foreign trip for the weekend. The funny thing is that I didn't plan on this and I came to the airport and just bought a ticket here... Yet, I have not decided where to go. I mean I know where I will be flying to but I haven't decided which city I should stay. I will figure out by the time I land there. huh... I will be there just for the weekend but if there is anything interesting, I will upload. Well, if there is nothing interesting, I will probably upload the thing still. Finally, I can just relax and enjoy my time off for awhile. FYI, the plane in the photo is not the one I will take today... You have a fantabulous day!
