Soy Saucy?

Friday, 28 October

What's Cold Stone Creamery?? I've never had them before.... They launch their stores here in Japan according to the article I just read. Are they any good? Anyway, I think KFC is the second favorite junk food place for me. My first choice would be MOS Burger which is a Japanese junk food place. They are so tastey. I know they are still Junk food but... Whenever you come over here to Japan, you should try MOS, please. So, this is the second day of the month to allow myself to eat greasy lunch. Today, KFC. Baby. Since I will have to go to this meeting right after lunch, I decided to make it to go and had lunch here in my office. While eating it, I read an article about Avian Flu H5N2 influenza virus on Newsweek.... While eating chicken... I know there is relatively no risk to get infected through cooked chicken but still... It's scary that the outbreak is DEFINITELY going to happen according to WHO, and almost a half of infected people would die... I hope smart people are working very hard to produce the vaccine. But it's very unlikely they will come up with an efficient vaccine as the virus itself constantly changes.... Let's hope we have several more years until the outbreak....
On a different note, I am going out tonight. It's been awhile. I am going to have nice dinner at a nice place with the guy I've been seeing and three other friends (one of them is not really a friend...) I might have mentioned about this "not" friend before. I think he is from Serbia Montenegro or somewhere around there. (It's kinda embarrassing that I cannot locate many Eastern Europe countries on the map right away...like... Albania, Macedonia, Slovenia, Moldova....any non-EU european countries...I need to refresh my memorized map...) Anyway, he is DAMN good looking. And he knows it, too. Like 5% body fat and very flexible looking muscles with an extremely pretty face. He even told us "Baltick people are superior to others when it comes to physical appearances." Yes, he is full of hiimself. I am not sure why he is invited. I wish he wasn't. Anyway, since I was the one who cordinated where to eat and get drunk, I asked him his preferences for dinner to be... you know.. polite. He went "I don't want to have anything Japanese as I don't wanna smell soysauce all over me like yourself".......... I have no idea why he has to be edgey every single moment. I wasn't really pissed though. Am I soysaucy? I heard this irony before but I thought it was just a racial discriminating thing. Since I am Japanese and consume soysauce frequently, I don't really notice it. Better yet, I couldn't even if I smelled soysaucy. I should probably ask somebody non-Japanese to smell me to verify it... oh, good idea. :-) Okay, I am off to the meeting. You have a fantabulous weekend!!!

Cold Stone Creamery is an ice cream shop where you can order "mix-ins" or in other words nuts, caramel, chocolat, butterfinger, almost anything added to for favorite ice cream flavor. They mix it up by hand in front of you.

It's very good, but expensive for ice cream.

Cold Stone recently opened one shop here in Manila, and I've read some good reviews about it, albeit being expensive.

Well, I must agree that Eastern European countries breed a really fine and exquisite looking lot. But that "not" friend of yours should try to hold his horses and be more respectful of other cultures. Good to know you're not pissed, as his comment could pass on as just highly trivial, and thus need nof worrying and reacting over. You have better things to do, right? Hehehe. Have fun on your date! Hope that guy won't be a mood spoiler.

Happy weekend!

MOS Burger !

I love MOS Burger too. There's one in Singapore. Used to live there a while back.

Oh. My. God. MOS Burger. YUM!!!! Back in my meat-eating days, I loved the burger with chili and jalapenos and cheese. Heaven on a bun.

Cold Stone Creamery is good. But expensive. So, I usually end up at home alone with a pint of Ben and Jerry's instead.

Have a groovy weekend. *smooches*

MOS Burer actually tried to break into the Malaysian market but somehow failed miserably. I can barely remember anything about their burgers now.

And that Baltic non-friend of yours sounds like he needs a good bitch-slapping. How can one insult you like that?! You must have the patience of a Buddha to not feel insulted! "Soysaucey like you!" He should be thrown out of the country--any country for that matter. Never mind if he looks like a god, if he's got shit for personality then it'll reflect in his features, doesn't he know that?

I hope he gets a boil on his nose. For calling you soysaucey indeed. I'd fly over there now and stick bamboo chopsticks up his arse if it wasn't illegal.

We have a Cold STone here at Time Square, New YOk. And okye, oh my freakin' gawd, that place is always packed.... PACKED with people...LINES forming outside of the store and stuff.

SOmetimes, I'm glad that I'm lactose intolerant - so I won't grave for ice creams.

my mom told me recently to stop eating chicken prepared in restaurants because of the avian flu thingy. mind, we're in canada where there hasn't been any reports of infection. besides, if anything is going to happen, i suspect that it would happen in toronto first. after all, toronto was the only place in canada that had a major SARS outbreak.

mind you, i'm now thinking that i shouldn't go to the philippines and taiwan anymore in february and march. if i want to do collect data on the tagalog language, i can find a lot of filipinos here in canada. my parents, for example, belong to a filipino religious group--the same that got quarantined when toronto had SARS.

your non-friend is an ass. what the hell is he doing in japan anyway if he's just going to look down on everyone like that?

Hmm... I've never tried the icre cream shoppe before and seriously... you like KFC? Lol i got bored with it after so long of eating it and the list of complains will go on! ;p

But seriously... the new outbreak is scary... I really hope it don't reach our part of city... >.

On a different note though... whoever that guy is... he can kiss my fo- oh wait, i wouldn't even let such a *beep* near me... honestly, he's being plain rude and a huge jack*beep*! Please tell me you gave him a good retort there! >.

Have a wonderful weekend to you too! :D

I looove KFC! I don't eat it often- I'm not worried about weight, but I worry about cholesterol and things like that (not that I have high cholesterol, but if I ate KFC often, I probably would :-P ).

Mos Burger is pretty good, but my favorite 'junky' Japanese food are the curry rice puches you boil in water and then dump over rice. Mmmmmm, oishi so! I tried Fast Kitchen for the first time this past summer, not bad.

Hi Greg,

Welcome to my site! Thanks for the description of Cold Stone Creamery. So the ice cream is rather soft or watery? hmmm.... And I assume it will take a while until your order is up like starbucks? hmmm... If there is one shop opening near my place, I might try that. Thanks for stopping by and you have a fabulous Saturday!

Hi Mark,

So I guess they are focusing on Asia this year? I think Haagen Dazs is already expensive so hmmm.... but I would try one if there is one shop near by. :-) I guess he is easily angry for anything he deals with so I find it really interesting. But I laughed a lot when I attacked him verbally with dark sarcasms. That wasn't really me. The drink magic.... But I felt good. Guilty.... :) You have a pleasant evning!

Hi EnviroBoi,

OH YEAH. MOS BURGER. :-) They are sinfully delicious even though they take more time to bring you the one you order... How come I have never seeen Cold Stone Creamery thingy?I love Ben and Jerry's. :-) But they are not popular here.... huh... Mint Chocolate....hmmm... You have a wonderful Saturday and hope you enjoyed your party regardless of Ray not showing up.

Hi Will,

Really? I didn't know that. Maybe, they didn't have a great marketing team or something... Um... I didn't hit him or anything physically but I insulted him back repeatedly to shut him up at a nice restaurant. After all, I was a mood spoiler..... But I felt so good just like the feeling you could get after the debate session. :-) Well, I am not really patient but I know what's appropriate. But that thing stops whenever I get heavily drunk... hahaha. You have a fabulous Saturday!

Hi Wayne,

Really? Lines just for ice cream????? I think I will go with Ben and Jerry's or Haagen Dasz... But I might wanna try it once. Definitely not at the one at Time Square. :-) Oh, I didn't know you were lactose intolerant. I might have read about it on your blog.... what exactly happens if you accidentally consume any dairy? Anyway, you have a happy Saturday!

Hi Raph,

Well, you never know. You might have some time before the outbreak happens. so you could go to the Phillippines for your research. The saddest thing of all is that once the outbreak happens, it won't be like SARS I mean regional limited thingies. It goes everywhere.... I just read another article today that 100,000 people would die here in Japan while there will be 74million deaths all over the world... It's really scary.... Let's keep fingers crossed. Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Chris,

Oh YEAH. I love KFC very very much. But I only have it like every other month or so. :-) Well, he was actually rude. That's so true but I was rude to him last night after I got drunk so I guess we are even. Though I didn't say anything racial at all. Well, I might have but I don't really remember. :-) You have a fantastic weekend!

Hi FashMagSlag,

I think I am more worried about weight over the cholesterol stuff. :-) Because I simply gain weight if I keep eating rich food so I am very very envious of you!. Really? I think I usually cook Curry from scratch so I barely eat the instant one. :-) First Kitchen is kinda funny. They constantly change their menu for some reason. But I like their fried potatoes that you have to shake the bag to mix the spices. :-) You have a wonderful weekend.
