Phone Talk

Tuesday, 7 June

This is my cellular phone. Many of us, Japanese, do not own a computer so this can be a primary tool for internet, e-mail, and chat even!! For me, it's kinda frustrating to type things with just 12 buttons so my e-mail from cell is very minimal. A Cell Phone is primarily just to talk for me. Today was interesting because I got more calls than usual. A few of them were interesting...well...Embarrassing to be exact.

Incoming@9:13 from a U.S. team for a.m. briefing.
I accidentally said "Fabulous" during the call. The problem was the way I said it. They got quiet for awhile. Damn...I am sure my tone would have been pink if I could see it in color.
Outgoing@10:15 to a friend.
Talked while I was on my way to Starbucks. He asked me if I was interested in drinks tonight. sob... I told him I couldn't..
Incoming@11:45 from my sister.
She wanted to borrow my car. Hell no as she hit a wall while she was about to park last time.
Voice mail@12:28 from my ex.
He is back in town and wanted me to call back. Debating whether I should or not.
Voice mail @14:00 from a bank
They told me there were unusual activities in HK last Saturday and wanted to verify them with me. No, they were not unusual. I went crazy... I tried not to feel guilty for how much I spent.
E-mail@15:14 from a friend.
He saw one of the hottest guys in the street. The Photo captured the guy was attached to the mail. what a voyeur... The problem was the photo was so out of focus. I am now curious how hot the guy was... Imaginary moment...
Outgoing@16:20 to my ex after taking a deep breath
Forwarded to Voicemail. Thank God. I left a message saying things with a strange unnatural tone. I think my voice went an octave higher due to nervousness. But I tried to act O.K. which obviously didn't sound O.K. at all. That wasn't cool...

I hate phone conversations... especially the ones I get on my cellular phone. By the way, some may wonder how we type things in Japanese with 12 buttons on a cell phone as we have so many Chinese characters (Kanji). We just spell things phonetically with Hiragana (Japanese alphabet) and convert each word into Chinese Characters where it's necessary just like we type things on a computer.

I am still @ work...... Hi Leigh, yes, I was so in love with this when they relelased last December. They have the second version of this line which came out last month. This is kewl, too. But you know all I ask is to be able to dial and talk. This is a nice additional attirbute though. :-) Thanks for stopping by! Have a pleasant evening/morning/afternoon wherever you are.

When I was visiting in Kyoto and Nara everyone was on a cell, and walking, it was most interesting. I LIKE cell phones and all, but I definitely try to avoid talking too much. I text (SMS) everyone instead, so I'm really speedy at typing with the 12 keys.

OOC, sorry, but I have tagged you Shigeki, hope you will comply?

Hi Brian,
yeah, everybody is religiously staring at a cell phone for some reason. However, it's really distrubing when a person in front of you keeps doing that and walks slowly. I guess I am old fashioned so I take "talking" over "writing". Thanks for stopping by!

Hey Sven,
I am sorry when you say "tag", what do you mean exactly? I guess I am assigned to give you a feedback on that one? When I hear "getting tagged", I imagine cops chasing me. :-)

oops, sorry, tagged you are to answer the questions about books that I have answerd. I was tagged by Dr Paul myself. It's like those letters you have to send on the 20 persones, but I don't think there is any bad luck involved in this meme :)
