What I do on New Year's day II
Thu, 3 January 2008
Lonely planet and Wikipedia English don't probably cover this so I thought I'd share :) I know it's not exciting but as always said, this is about non-exciting scribbles :) Happy new year! BTW, the custom we do for the slide #9 has been practiced widely since the 8th century according to Wikipedia. Isn't it super cool? Don't get me wrong. I am not being an ethnocentrist. I am just trying to show what we do in our country :) Thanks.Posted by Shigeki at 01:35 PM | Comments (11) | TrackBack (0)
Year 2008. Day 1
Tue, 1 January 2008
The color, gray, is also called "The color of the rat" in Japanese. Ergo, it's gray even though I like blue. :) I thought I'd change the scheme even though I really like that blue I used to have for more than 2 years on this site :) But I didn't update the "about me" page except for the photo. Anyway, it's year 2008 here already. I am sure a lot of this world at the moment is still year 2007 but :) HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!Posted by Shigeki at 02:18 AM | Comments (14) | TrackBack (0)
My Geeky workday....
Thu, 20 December 2007
You have seen the data center? I am sure not many of you actually get to go there so I thought I'd share here. My little virtual geeky tour. I am sorry if it's too geeky for you though :-( I am now operating UNIX as well. Yay. Geeks rock!! :) This is my last workday as I am taking a day off today and next Monday is a national holiday so I am having a 4-day weekend! Yay. I wish you a wonderful day! Stay hydrated! You have a very fantabulous day!!Posted by Shigeki at 09:41 PM | Comments (13) | TrackBack (0)
Are you ready?
Mon, 19 November 2007
I reminded the first few applicants who hadn't but there seem to be more who haven't read the rule #3 carefully. There are 10 people who applied but not yet have followed the Rule #3. For those who haven't done that, you will be disqualified!! I am sorry to make it so strict but this is the rule. For those who haven't, please take a moment to do that. Thanks. My company's stores have changed to the holiday season decoration the day before yesterday. This web site will change to the holiday version soon. However, I thought I'd give you the heads-up for something I have never done on this blog. Why am I super generous? Well, I feel like it. While the number of the comments I got most was 28, I gave wiggle room for 12 people who have never commented or those who passed by.The link will be inactive once the 40th applicant submitted the form. You have a fantabulous day!

My typical weekday...
Wed, 14 November 2007

My low life...
Tue, 30 January 2007
When I was a secretary, I liked looking at my boss's schedule in the morning to imagine what kind of a fantabulous life he had. Unlike his, my schedule is not fantabulous but I thought I'd share it as this was crazy. My advice to you is don't get too drunk on Monday. Don't empty 6 bottles if there are only three including yourself... two bottles per person.... Besides, I did something really embarrassing in front of people... I will live quietly for the rest of this week...Have a fantabulous day!!

I am sure this is boring but hey. I just got back from my parents' so this is the only thing I can kinda share. Now I am relaxing with my boyfriend, Jack. Jack Daniels of course. :-) Have a fantabulous Tuesday!!!!

Happy New Year!!
Mon, 1 January 2007
The reason why I put "Neo-Japanese" as the category of this post is because this year is supposed to be the year of the pig outside of Japan while it is the year of the wild boar here in Japan. :-) It's Year 2007 over here even if some parts are still year 2006. :-) I was going to send you e-mail with this card to all of the visitors who have commented last year on my blog. But it turns out the e-mail address organizing is way too much work so I decided to share it here on this web. This was meant to be delivered to all of you. Sorry. :-( I am lazy. .I wish you a fantabulous new year!!!

This is what I have been doing and what I did. :-)
Wed, 13 December 2006
I know I didn't have to create this thing with Flash and it's not a sophisticated one but hey. :-) It's one and a half min long. If you happen to care, please play it. I've been busy and will come back tomorrow and probably will be able to post something "non-exciting" later this week. :-) Another reason why I wasn't able to post daily last week was because my shoulder got dislocated while playing tennis... it was bad... but the worst is over. :-)
Have a fantabulous day!!!!

Thank you!
Sun, 3 September 2006
This was the very first weekend for me in 2 months. It was interesting. Many might go watch movies on weekends. I did watch a video posted on Google. It was very interesting whether some people may think it's completely BS, it totally blew me away. This is a complicated world for sure... That's all I am saying....Posted by Shigeki at 10:15 PM | Comments (7)

I am finally back in Tokyo. God, this was the busiest and the most brutal business trip I have ever made. I don't miss blogging for two days in a row usually but I did.... darn. I have another biz trip coming up pretty soon but I hope I will be able to blog as usual. I am going to slut myself up and have fun tonight. Yay. You have a fantabulous weekend!Posted by Shigeki at 11:59 PM | Comments (10) | TrackBack (0)
Rainy Chilly day
Tue, 18 July 2006
Yes, I am still here in Sapporo and won't be able to go back home today, either. But I don't miss the brutal humidity over there in Tokyo. Plus, this is all my personal opinion but I think Sapporo has a lot of hotties. The guy at the front desk oft the gym was so cute. I almost asked him to take off his shirt immediately. But I still have moral. :-) I am sorry that I haven't been able to visit regular blogs I usually visit. It's just I've been super busy. I will try to catch up once I get back home! Anyway, you have a fantabulous day!Posted by Shigeki at 12:51 AM | Comments (13) | TrackBack (0)

It's another not so "wet" today while it is supposed to be raining so hard like it should every year. It's weird. My Seattle friend went to Mt. Fuji this morning by driving my car. Misery loves company
Wed, 21 June 2006
I am going to get boozed tonight for the first time in days!!!! I got off the medication finally and my doctor told me yesterday I am ready for adult beverages. At 5p.m. today, my stomach will start to hurt according to the plan and I will act sick. I know I have a lot of assignments to complete but I need this special early leave once in a while. I am going to meet homo friends and get boozed. I made an instructional presentation for how to make a more complicated chopstick rest spot. But I didn't save the file..... Huh.... where did it go? :-( Instead, I present you this neo-Japanese instructional thingy. I wish you a pleasant Wednesday! Ta-ta-.Posted by Shigeki at 10:03 AM | Comments (14) | TrackBack (0)
Out of service
Fri, 12 May 2006
This is the only thing I could blog at the moment right now. Please push the power button for Shigeki-Vision. :-) I haven't been able to blog much after I came back from Europe. That's because on the next day I came back home, I was sent here to Hong Kong for emergency work. Working on the non-friendly equipment in the office for long hours make me sad especially when there are hotties outside. It's very wet and humid here. But why do I care as I am here in the ridiculously air-conditioned office huh... Hopefully, I will be able to go back home tomorrow. And, probably, I am going to blog as usual next week. In the meantime, you have a fantabulous weekend!Posted by Shigeki at 11:59 PM | Comments (9) | TrackBack (0)
The reason why I couldn't blog on Thursday
Fri, 28 April 2006
Hello, Everybody. I hope you are doing fantabulous. It's the weekend. I have nothing planned but Japan is going to observe Golden Week from tomorrow. Meaning an extended long break as there are several national holidays in a week. I think I will only have to work for 2 days next week. Yay. Anyway, you have a fantabulous weekend! And please, please take good care of your health. :-)Posted by Shigeki at 11:06 PM | Comments (21) | TrackBack (0)

My least favorite destination.
Wed, 5 April 2006
No Offense with the title. This is the least favorite destination as I've been there quite a few times... I always go there for biz. That's why. No personal attack or anything. Anyway.... when I was little, I imagined that biz trips were for cool looking business men wearing a fancy suit with Hermes briefcase. Today, I had to make a day biz trip to Fukuoka. No fancy suit... No fancy bag.... It's no fun when I have to come back to Tokyo on the same day. I can't get boozed and I always look at my watch that I am doing things on time. Today, during the trip, I came up with one desperate dream.... Fudge my brains out with those local guys. :-) Can I? Kidding.... not really kidding... but you know... You have a fantastic hump day!Posted by Shigeki at 07:30 PM | Comments (11) | TrackBack (0)
It's the end.
Sun, 26 March 2006
I am finally back in Tokyo. It's Sunday night. I will have to work tomorrow. Mostly, what I will do tomorrow at work is "to pretend" to read all the e-mails I got during the vacation. I am sure it will be more than 2000 e-mails. But what can I do? I will just go easy even though I heard the work there has been crazy. However, I didn't have an opportunity to log onto the network. My 1 and a half week vacation in the United States of America was very awesome. :-) I am ready to take another vacation if I win Oregon lotto. :-) Until then, I will be working. You have a fantabulous new week!Posted by Shigeki at 11:59 PM | Comments (14) | TrackBack (0)
Traveling again. :-)
Sat, 25 March 2006
The reason why I am here in the United States this time on my vacation is that I got a job last month. To understand the job I got better, I wanted to talk to the management directly in person. So I am here. I'd say this is my second home city if I may. :-) I am not sure if I want to take this job because this is not Tokyo. hmmm... I don't think I can decide right now and it's too much on Friday. It's the weekend (well, it's Saturday over there in Japan...but...) You guys have a fantabulous weekend!Posted by Shigeki at 10:04 AM | Comments (13) | TrackBack (0)
A non-exciting day in a non-exciting city.
Thu, 23 March 2006
I was going to go snowboarding everyday I am here according to the plan I made. I even shipped my equipment to my friend's before I left. But I don't feel like it because I have this terrible blister after running at the gym earlier this week. And it's kinda far. Instead, I am here in the downtown area and doing nothing major. Just reading a book and watching people walk by. But I cannot do these when I am working so I am happy. :-) You have a great day!Posted by Shigeki at 04:56 AM | Comments (10) | TrackBack (0)
Calculation
Wed, 22 March 2006

Hello from Portland, OR. I hope you are doing great. I had this fantabulous Hallibut at the restaurant but because of too much alcohol (7 martinis, 1 glass of Pinot Noir, 1 glass of Chardonnay, 2 Vodka water) last night, I have been having this horrible splitting headache.... I got extra strength Tylenol but how long do I have to wait until it kicks in? It doesn't seem to be working right now.... Except for that splitting headache part, I am doing great here in Portland, OR. While Gregg from Boston, MA didn't get to see the fantabulous side of Portland much (i am sorry, Gregg. I hope you will see that next time), I have been pretty happy here as people are very friendly and 0 percent sales tax. :-) The photo is one of the greatest president in the United States of America. When I had to pay 17 dollars for parking, I gave the attendant 22 dollars. (one 20 dollar bill and two ones. ) But she looked confused and gave me 2 dollars back. I wanted to get a 5 dollar bill so I told her to calculate with 22 dollars instead of 20 dollars. She didn't seem to get it until she punched the number. I am not saying anything but this happens to me a lot here in the States. When I buy something like 77 cents, I'd give $1.02 to get 25 cents for change. Is it weird I do this? hmmmm... Anyway, I am going to recover from this splitting headache and I will probably blog more tomorrow with photos. Thanks for stopping by and you have a fantabulous day! Don't drink too much!

It's a little chilly but fantabulous here!
Tue, 21 March 2006
Hello, Everybody. I hope you are doing all fantabulous. I am sorry that I haven't visited you guys recently. I will try when I have enough time. Yesterday, I was too tired and I didn't gamble a lot. I only gambled for 3 hours. I didn't hit the jackpot... According to my plan, I would... Why? oh why? but I didn't loose, either. I won about $1000 = 821 Euros = 116400 Yen..... Oh well. I wish I had more time but I had to sleep... I was very tired. Anyway, I am here finally. I feel comfy and safe here. But driving can be a differen thing... Anyway, I will post some more tomorrow. Until then, see you all later!Posted by Shigeki at 07:22 AM | Comments (14) | TrackBack (0)
Aloha- :-)
Sat, 18 March 2006
Hello. I am at the airport waiting for the flight. It's been short but I really enjoyed my stay in Hawaii. It was fantabulous. If I stayed here longer, I'd go broke. :-) It's so great that Japanese is very much spoken in a lot of places on Oahu. (I am sure Big Island has some Japanese community as well) When we walked from the club last night, I was approached by a lady hooker on Kuhio Ave. I am glad I looked straight to her. :-) When I went shopping, the store person asked me if I have lived in the States. I told him "10 years ago". He said I don't look 30 years old at all. Should I be happy or sad? hmmm... Anyway, off to the next destination. I wish you a happy weekend! Aloha!Posted by Shigeki at 06:46 AM | Comments (13) | TrackBack (0)

Fri, 10 March 2006
I missed yesterday's entry.... I've been super busy..... This is kinda boring and I wish I could spend more time to make it better but I don't have a lot of time to blog this week unfortunately. This is really dull but this is all I can post for this week. I am sure next week will be better.... Anyway, you can skip this dull flash file. it's kinda... huh.. :-) I wish you a fantabulous weekend! !Posted by Shigeki at 10:16 PM | Comments (16) | TrackBack (0)

Fri, 17 February 2006
I have been super busy lately... I missed another post yesterday.... damn. Anyway, when I was doing troubleshooting at work on behalf of a geek who is on vacation, I came up with this idea. Because I hate dealing with network stuff at work as it's not my job... I'd love to try this but I shouldn't.... It's been a while since I created a flash presenation last time. This is not a brilliant one but I hope you enjoy some computer "geekiness". Happy weekend! Don't work hard!Posted by Shigeki at 09:26 PM | Comments (19) | TrackBack (0)
Looks are not IMPORTANT!!
Fri, 27 January 2006
I didn't have to make this as a flash file but I did. The theme of this blog is always "non-exciting" scribble.... Left arrow doesn't work because I didn't bother assigning the instance... enjoy my sloppy flash! By the way, I am not at work tonight. That's a miracle! But I am not going out. Sometimes, it's okay to stay home and do cozy things inside when it's chilly outside, right? I mean I pay my kinda expensive rent but I don't stay home enough to pay off. So I should stay home looong every once in a while. I think I will go to bed before midnight. :) No, I am not spending a sad time. It's fantabulous I could go to bed before midnight! I hope your weekend goes well, too! You have a fantabulous weekend!Posted by Shigeki at 09:27 PM | Comments (12) | TrackBack (0)
Mumbling in Amsterdam.
Mon, 19 December 2005
I was going to create a flash based photo gallery but I don't have much time. So I ditched the idea and went for an easier way. Anyway, I am leaving today. It's been fun. It's sad that I have to go back to work tomorrow but I will live. The dinner with my ex didn't turn into shit. By the by, some people still have this idea that Asians are supposed to be hairless and bottom. I felt so insulted. I am sorry that I don't wax frequently when I don't have to wear swimsuits. :-P Anyway.... I should pack everything and get breakfast and head to the airport. I will blog as usual tomorrow from Tokyo, Japan. You have a fantabulous week! Signing off from Amsterdam. :-)Posted by Shigeki at 07:47 AM | Comments (9) | TrackBack (0)
The Shortest Foreign Trip
Sun, 18 December 2005
It's Sunday. Yay. It's beautiful and nice here in the Netherlands. (Before I came here, the weather forecast didn't seem so good.) I think I am going to one more museum and spend a quiet day instead of doing anything exciting. I might have to see my ex once again for dinner but only if he can be civil. (I don't need any stress during holidays.. .) This is going to be the last day on my short holiday. Oh well. (T_T) I will think about work tomorrow. You have a fantabulous Sunday!By the way, I was interviewed awhile ago by Best Gay Blog staff. My interview is up there. It doesn't have anything new but if you're interested, here it is. :-)Cheers.

Make the fancy paper re-fancy.
Sun, 11 December 2005
How's your weekend been? I hope it's been great. Mine has been shitty as usual. I had some time to kill when I generated report with the geeky app I made. So I created this. I am sure some of you already know how to do this but I thought I'd bring this up for those who are not familiar with it. :-) It's DAMN easy :-) It's not fancy but I like making it from wrapping paper. I hope your new week goes well! Ta-ta-Updated: On my way back home, it was SNOWING!!! This is the first time in Tokyo in this winter. I thought forecast people said it would be warmer this winter..... huh..

No, there are not Samurais here.
Mon, 5 December 2005
I missed yesterday's post because I was at Disney Sea. :-) yay. Anyway..... The new CIO (Chief Information Officer) from the headquarters came to Japan today. He had never been to Asia before in his life. Nope, he didn't ask if there were any Samurais still.... Don't worry. But it was that interesting to see...I had to share it with you guys. I am not making fun of him for the record. I just report what happened today at lunch. I am speachless..... I am not going to lunch with him tomorrow. Anyway, Happy Japanese!Posted by Shigeki at 08:35 PM | Comments (11) | TrackBack (0)

Hesitant word
Fri, 11 November 2005

I was at this Mormon Family when I was an exchange student in Portland, OR. I went to this Mennonite College in Kansas, U.S.A. for the first two years of college. Which means, I couldn't even say "OH MY GOD" I was told I had to say "OH MY GOSH". I wasn't really used to dirty words and cussing but I am now. :-) Earlier today at work, I had to call the headquarters. I had to talk with them about FAX system specifically. It would be easier for me to describe things in a written format. However, I had to talk to them about it as it was urgent. FYI, I feel really anxious when I have to say the word "Fax". I could go for facsimile but the first vowel is still "u" if I say it in a Japanese way. As a result, my pronounciation for FAX is so unnatrual. During the whole conversation, I had to take SUPER extra caution that I pronounced it right. By the way, the way we pronounce "Fax" here in Japan in Japanese is like "fux". If I pronounce it in a Japanese way, I go I think I need to know if I can FUX after the cluster node is migrated to the other... That's not good.... I am absolutely certain I did alright without pissing off the executives over there in the States but I don't like this word... Yes, English is always a foreign language for me forever. I can never get used to it.
By the by, each airport has a three letter abbereviation. New Tokyo International Airport = NRT, Kuala Lumpur = KUL, Newark = EWR. On Kyushu Island (it's the big island located in the western part of Japan), the largest city in that region is Fukuoka. The three letter code for that airport is FUK obviously... huh... PUMPKIN DAY!
Mon, 31 October 2005
I wish there was a big halloween thingy here in Japan. But nope. I am wearing a usual suit with nothing stuck in my ears here at work. I am heading home now. I couldn't take too much time on this so This is just a scribble. It's stupid and this is something I don't particularly dream of but I wrote it for some reason.... maybe, I am stressed at work ..... Anyway..... Happy Halloween!Posted by Shigeki at 10:22 PM | Comments (11) | TrackBack (0)

I did something really I hadn't done before. Well.... I've done so many stupid things during college years because you know you are supposed to do that during those years anyways. :-) However, I am 30 years old.... Here's a little story that happened to me earlier today...It's lame but this is the only thing I can share for today's post. Fantabulous Sunday!

Off the cliff
Fri, 2 September 2005
I have added a link to Jon from New York, U.S.A. It's interesting that I have more blog friends from the east coast while I don't have friends on the East Coast in real life. :-) Jon is an addict. Yes. baby. China Town Addict. :-) I won't come back home before midnight today so it's posted earlier than usual. It's Friday and I don't have to work tomorrow so I should be happy... One friend who went to high school together messaged me at midnight saying "Oh, you are now officialy old". Another one said "Don't act like you are 20 anymore.". Are these supposed to celebrate me in any way? For the last few weeks, I really tried to hang onto the edge of the cliff named 20s. I must admit I was a little scared of my being 30 myself a month ago. On the bright side, I am still 29 in some parts of this world. :-) Anyhow, I am over that 30 something fear crap. I am now feeling pretty damn well about it. Oddly, I am not sad nor am I in denial like so many people when they turn 30. I just wish I could have achieved so many things before today. I will have to value next 10 years more than I did in my 20s. Okay, I today turned 30 years old. There, I said it. I have no worries. My skin tone isn't as great as it used to be but I am feeling fabulous after all. My friends set up this little celebration at my usual drinking place. I hope no one is going to bullshit me with that old joke "oh you are old!" I will MAKE MY 30s FABULOUS!!! Okay, off to work. Have a fabulous weekend, guys!

Don't leave 'em on the table!
Thu, 1 September 2005

First of all, I have added a link to Freddie from the Netherlands. I like every detailed thing there like printed letters and combinations of colors they use for posters and signs. I remember going to Albert Heijn, the local supermarket, a lot just to see the guy I had a crush on. Good old times... Second of all, it's September already!! Wow, we got only 4 more months for the year 2005. Time flies by quickly... Third, a friend of mine from Seattle, U.S.A. is visiting for a week. I took him to lunch with my friends earlier today as I had an afternoon off. One of my friends was amazed and said to this Seattle friend "Oh, you can use chopsticks!" and he went "You are able to use a fork and a knife!" with no smile (geez, a jet lagged grumpy straight guy...) It's not really surprising for non-Asians to be able to use chopsticks. Really. This made me realize something. Since I was very bored after lunch, I took photos and created this presentation. When you go out, you might go to an Asian restaurant. You might use disposable chopsticks there. You could get them when you do Bento take-out even. Where do you put those chopsticks when you need to leave your table for the restroom? You don't hold your chopsticks in your hand forever, do ya? Here's something you could do to impress your friends. I always do this when I have disposable chopsticks even though they aren't really environmentally friendly... It's cool and fun! I apologize in advance that I am not good at explaining things in English. I got a C- in English 101 for your info. Click the photo! (You need to have Flash player installed. To be a good husband.
Tue, 2 August 2005
First of all, I added a link to Bjørn from Norway. It's interesting to peep at the country I have never been to. And I so fell in love with Andreas for 5 mins. Nice post, BjørnThis is the photo of one of the favorite shirts for this year. I created another category. I barely use a dryer to dry my laundry. I like them dried naturally. I was told by several people that I wouldn't be a great husband at all. I hope that's not true. One of the reasons why they said that is that I hate folding clothes. It's so irritating and I even hate ironing clothes!! That's the worst part of housekeeping for me. Well, the worst part could be cooking, actually. Since I hate folding/ironing clothes, it was such a relief when I watched this for the first time. They usually show you some tips on the TV show. As the tips on the show are so unique and uncommon, they call them "hidden techniques". I was very impressed at how quickly they could fold their clothes!! It takes some time to master this but you can fold t-shirts or shirts within seconds neatly like a Banana Republic guy. I brought this up previously but I thought I was going to describe how to fold it by translating their website. I created the file. Click the photo. I hope it's useful for you guys! I know the translation is crappy but please bear with me. Come to think of it after finishing creating the file, I don't see any problem with an ordinary way....I guess it's not worth trying after all. Well, it doesn't hurt anyone so here it is. My goal is to become a great husband. One down. Millions to go. If I can ride a bike, I can become a great husband. Damn it. Happy housekeeping!
