A temporary remedy.
Thursday, 24 November

To be honest, I've been little more stressed than I'd like it to be these days. It's primarily due to my work. I just got to know I wouldn't be able to take a day off by the mid of next month. I decided to quit my job in July next year at the latest. But that won't do any good for now. So I decided to get out of the office at 8 and summoned some friends to keep me company to get rid of this weird feeling I got from work. Karaoke time. :-) There are some Japanese divas that we, fags, go ga-ga- about. Some queers sing their songs for sure. They somehow misunderstand they would exactly look like those divas even if they don't look like them at all. I've never seen pretty singers with 5 o'clock shadow , you know? :-) Anyway, surprisingly, I don't sing any those gay cliche singers' songs at all. I think there is still a part of me I can act straight? hahaha. Not that I am pretending.... anyway, this photo is a remote control of the Karaoke machine. You can look up a title/ a singer/ top 100 popular songs. It's really easy to navigate. I sang some J-pop songs (primarily Johnny's even though i am so 30....) Seriously, I wish there were Karaoke nights just like everywhere else on this planet. Singing a song in front of people. We don't have that kind place that many here in Japan. It would be too embarrassing to sing, but I could do it when I get really drunk. I'd love to try that next time even if I get booed. Instead, we went into this Karaoke cubicle box thingy to sing songs... what's your remedy when you are extremely stressed? oh, I am so boozed right now. I am happy. :-) You have a so-wonderful evening/morning/afternoon! I am off to batting cages to blow off some more stress. Ta-ta-!

Wow! Batting cages! So manly ;-) Re: karaoke, I couldn't do it on a stage in front of a load of people, I wish we had more karaoke cubicles here like you have in Asia, we hardly have any here. The only ones I've seen in London so far are quite expensive as well :-(

LOL I heard karaoke boxes are big in Japan and Korea but not here in malaysia though. A lot of people esp from the chinese speaking group love it but not me! I tried it once and I know how bad my voice sounds. I'd rather learn how to Bodyjam and dance badly. At least u can improve ur dancing, but not ur voice.

You should go to Manila for some karaoke-kicking. As you know, Manila is teeming with karaoke places and there are really nice, glitzy ones. For those who don't want to sing on stage (or get booed in public; well you won't get that here unless you're in some skanky karaoke-girlie bar joint whose patrons are drunkards), we have this microphone (Magic Sing) with karaoke song chips that you just connect to the TV. Voila, instant Karaoke! And oh, did I say I love singing to that? Hehe. Happy weekend! Try to get as much rest, please. :-)

ong, i LOVE kareoke. But I don't do it that often. Just don't have the time or the buddies to do it with me drunk. hahhaha.. But one thing I absolutely gotta do is go for a kareoke in Japan! Preferably tokyo. Hahhaah.. i know, I'm crazy, but I watched Lost in Translation and I think it's so damn cool.

if you ever come to montréal to visit, i will take you to agora, the karaoke bar that i often go to where you sing in front of everyone. it's lots of fun, really. very nerve-wracking at first, but you get over it soon.
ta!

I'm not a karaoke boy.. I would rather shake my booty on the podium than sing as I have a horrble singing voice!! But don't let that stop you from singing your heart out!! Enjoy the weekend!!

Hi Tim,
Surprisingly, I do something really straight every once in a while. :-) Baseball batting is one of them. :-) Well, if you are really really really drunk and happy, you might be able to. :-) Give yourself a try! I am so envious. :-) Yes, they are not cubicles anymore here in Tokyo as they are pretty huge. :-) But I love that. :-) You have a fantastic weekend!
Hi Will,
Oh yeah, they are really huge. :-) Well, the main point of Karaoke is not how good you can sound. It's a matter of how much you enjoy. :-) I'd love to dance too but at the same time, I'd love to sing too :-) You have a wonderful evening!
Hi Mark,
I'd never imagined how different it would be over there. It would be really really cool to try something really different. :-) Well, I do really focus on how real the sound would be so you know. :-) I'd love to try one of those anyway as I am always up for anything. :-) You have a great evening!
Hi Ash,
You do, too? Well, if you do it frequently, the fun part will be less fun. :-) So I think you are on the right track, I assume. :-) Oh yeah, Karaoke here is really cool. :-) I've never watched Lost in Translation so I am not sure what you are referring to...but... :-) You have a marvelous weekend!
Hi Raph,
Wow, I'd love to sing in front of people even if I get really hard-booed. :) You see, if I get drunk, I always get something really challenging. :-) So I might be able to enjoy it from the first time? I will have to see that!!! You have a pleasant weekend!
Hi AJ,
You are not, either? huh... but if you keep singing, you can be decent you know. you might be able to melt your boy down by singing to him. :-) Well, I don't think anybody would be able to stop me singing. :-) Not that I wanted to be a singer or anything. This whole Karaoke thingy rocks for me. :-) You have a good weekend!

no one will ever boo at you at the place that i go to.
however, if you sing fever, the super hunky bartender will strip down to his underwear and dance/rub against you.

I can't believe how stressful your work schedule is. Don't they know that working employees half to death ends up being extraordinarily expensive in the long run?
