Wasn't that life threatening.

Fri, 1 August 2008

It's really steamy and hot in Tokyo and it's common among us, Japanese, to talk about something scary during the summer to "chill". I thought I'd share something I recently experienced. As mentioned, I am "sensitive" in that area. A (My boyfriend) and I went on a weekend trip last weekend. Just one night stay in this mountain area. It was a pricy sophisticated Japanese hotel. However, I felt something uncomfy when we entered the room. I tried not to mention it to A since he would freak out. Usually, when I feel "something" uncomfortable in the hotel room, I usually ask a front clerk to change the room because my sense is accurate but who could give up this beautiful view and the bath like this? So I didn't do anything and try not to care. I sensed there was someone present. After dinner and tons of drinks and mind numbing "snuggling" with A(heh), I passed out. However, I sensed another person present in our room in the middle of the night. I wasn't scared but was annoyed by that presense. So I pulled my bed sheet over my head and not to care. After awhile, I felt his body weight on me and heavy breathing very close to my ear. I knew it wasn't A because I could hear his slight breathing from a different spot where he was supposed to be and A is a skinny guy so he shouldn't be that heavy.
I was wide awake but closed my eyes and chanted buddhist thingies by hoping it would disappear. However, my instant-trained chant I learnt during the monk training last year wasn't helpful. The guy's face was so pushed against me through the sheet and I could totally feel the lips moving on my left ear through the sheet when this guy whispered "no, you cannot ignore me even if you try." So I opened my eyes and tried to look at the guy. It was a farmer killed by a Samurai like 500 years ago. I was trying to be nice but he was a very angry spirit.. I tried to calm him down but it didn't work and he grabbed my neck. That's when I passed out. I thought I'd die. In the following morning, A woke me up. He asked "what happened to you? Did I do that?" I wasn't sure what he was referring to. It turned out I had a bruise on my neck where that farmer grabbed. I still have it now but I hope it will go away. We had a morning bath and breakfast and left. I don't think I will go back there even if the view was so fantastic. I wear a linen scarf even if it's steamy these days because the bruise is really painful looking... anyway... stay away from those angry people. Have a wonderful weekend!

Wow... scary! I am glad I don't have that 'sensitivity.' The view is amazing though. Hope you have a nice weekend anyway.

Shigeki,

I must say it is really quite an ordeal for you and I really hope you recover soon....
I just love off-beatern track ryokan and been warned casually of these too. Now I know better, it is real...A good reminder to have 'protection' and common sense.

Take care....

I'm sorry to hear about your encounter with the angry spirit. I wonder why he took his anger out on you like that. I was just having a conversation about Thai people who say they see ghosts of foreigners who died in the tsunami and about the visit my grandma paid us during dinner last November. My friends said they wouldn't want to have the ability you do. I hope my grandmother wasn't scary looking. I'd like to believe she is as kind and beautiful as she was when she was in this world.

that hotel needs an exorcist!!!

perhaps there are talismans you can carry with you to prevent you from being attacked by angry ghosts the next time you encounter one?

that's freaky!!! I could never see that kind of things nor could I feel them. I actually think it's such a torture for those who can see or feel them. Anyway, never go back again! I was wondering if you could see his face?

Ai-Ya!!!! The next time, please change rooms!!! ^-^

That sounds way to scary. I would have had them change the room. I don't know that I could have delt with it.

Shigeki, that WAS ME in the hotel room. I couldn't tell you for fear of waking up your bf, but I also couldn't get at you 'cause of the darn sheet!! :)

I am fascinated, as usual, by your "sensitivity" stories. So interesting.

Hi TK,

Yeah, it was annoying and scary a little. But it's not all bad about having that ability. Sometimes, they tell you what will happen to you or someone you know and it's a very useful piece of information :) Have a wonderful weekend!

HI Lifebook,

Thanks very much. :) Have a wonderful weekend!

HI Sgx,

My bruise is finally gone. Yay! Well, one thing to see whether your room is safe or not in Japan would be if you look at the backside of the paintings/mirros in your room and see some written paper which is like a religious item from Shinto Shrine, it means ghost might appear in your room. :) Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi GaijinGirl,

Well, if he knows someone is able to see him, he tends to get that someone's attention and tries to tell what has happened to the spirit. This is why I tend to listen to my iPod when I walk in the spot where there was a massive killing thingy in the past so that I cannot listen to them and I can pretend that I don't have that ability and they will not bother :) It's just like that, you know.Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Raph,

They probably do :) I actually carry the thing already but it doesn't protect me from them. It "softens" the thing. That's all. :) Have a wonderful weekend!

HI NoHamsap,

Welcome to my blog. Well, to be completely honest, there are good things about this ability. You can get some information you could never get if you don't have this. So it's not all bad. Yes, I was able to see his face when I tried to see him. It was covered with blood. It was scary. Have a wonderful weekend!

HI TigerYOgiji,

hahaha. I usually do but I didn't want to freak out my boyfriend as he usually does. Have a wonderful weekend!

HI Kai,

Well, it wasn't life threatening but it was uncomfy for sure. :) Have a wonderful weekend!

HI Steve,

IT was you? I didn't see you getting into my pants and take good care of my junior. What's up with that? How rude :) Well, it could be interesting but it's just like an everyday thingy for me: )Have a wonderful weekend!
