Ah, that was fascinating... but then I am a geek too. I was interested that the soup place had real metal (not throowaway plastic) spoons, and maybe dishes too? And a wood tray? Very nice. I think nice things can make food better. Your tools are so pretty and colorful; my tool kit is boring black and yellow. And I know those little tapes all too well. Funny... I have been tempted... just a few times. Once I even pressed the secret button and opened the little door on one. Just today in fact I had to spend an hour on our server because the backup system was misbehaving (actually someone had loaded a lot of junk on their desktop and it then filled the hard drive we use for the daily backup. Stupid users).

I LOVE Soup Stock Tokyo. I have my own pictures from my dinner there just before Hallowe'en...they decorated the tables with little decorations. Too late to post now? (^_^)

Does data centre in Japan need to be house in super resilient buildings or common ones? I believe all, if not almost all of the buildings are earthquake resilient?

Geeks rule :) I didn't really care for the spoon but then it's nice to have a metal spoon like you said :) Yes, because they focus on "organic" part, the tray was wood and the dishes are real earthenware. :) Have you ever seen the dutch designed tool kit? That is very expensive but it looks like as if it came out of the world of Lego! I'd love that :) Too bad that you had to spend an hour on the backup system!! I hope everything is now sorted out! Well, as mentioned, he is 3 meter (10 feet) tall and I don't think I am allowed to anyway. I just took a photo so I will save it on my phone :) My favorite soup from Soup Stock Tokyo is that tomato based omar lobster and crab soup. That is fantabulous. You did come up with a very good question! Yes, when we consider data centers, tape off site storage places, there is a requirement for an earthquake resistant level so many of them are earthquake resistant. THis building is actually seismic isolation structured :) However, it's only from the calculation so you never know until the real big earthquake hits :) You have a wonderful week!
