Although I normally at least try new (or weird) foods, one time two of my chinese students took me out to dinner. They offered me first dibs on the fish eyeballs. I politely declined.
I like it best when it is served sashimi style, where you pick the meat out of the still moving fish. Fish heads never bothered me personally, I find them to be tasty. The only things in Japanese cuisne I dislike strongly are 1) raw sea cucumber (is that called sazae?) though cooked is good....and 2) I don't think this is popular these days, but the preserved bird embryo. It's not just found in Phillipines and China- I think it was a country delicacy, but not many people eat it anymore
Hehehe. I can understand this can gross you out so easily. There is "dancing eating" if I translate it directly. It means you eat live baby freshwater eel (very tiny) while they are still live. They dance in your mouth before you chew them. That's why it's called "Dancing Eating". I hope this answers your question about how brutal Japanese can get...Have a good week!
Hi Anonymous,
Thanks for your critique. It's so interesting that I get similar comments when I upload my sketches. But I hope you were able to read it. :-) Have a good week!
Hi Vuboq,
Don't worry about the double post. That happens to anybody as this CGI program isn't sophisticated. It's not your fault :-) Fish eyeballs scare the hell out of me still. :) So I understand why you had to decline. :-) Have a good week!
HI Kirin,
On the bright side, it has a lot of good collagen for your skin :-) Have a good week!
Hi Mark,
I am not sure what oyster cakes are. But since it has oysters, there is a good chance I will like them :-) Oh it's autumn. I should taste the first oysters! Thanks for reminding. Have a good week!
Hi William,
Yes, some do indeedy. But I am not one of them :-) Have a good week!
Hi Fashmagslag,
I don't care for red snapper too much as it's so western Japan :-) The real tokyoite (Edokko) likes Tuna better :-) I like grilled Tuna's Head. They are so yummy. But expensive :-( Raw Sea Cucumber. I have never had that before but I don't think I will :-) I hope you didn't pay for it too much though. Have a good week!
I think I would still be grossed out. :-P I've heard there is a fish people eat while it is still breathing... ew.
Your handwriting sucks. It's obvious your sketch does, too.
@ anonymous 11:28 - bitter much?
