Blah blah blah

1.... Today in the morning, I had to deal with this girl visitor from America. Since she was a college student, I asked her major and she said "I was a pre-med student but I reconsidered my options and I am a psych student." When I was in college, I saw so many "pre-med" students and so many similar answers like hers when they decided not to go for med school. My curiosity had to ask her "Are you really sure? Didn't you just fail calculus classes or something? because something tells me you are not good at math :-)" If I felt fine without this sickness, I wouldn't have been bitchy....But when I explained Osaka is 500Km away from Tokyo, she was like "It's about the same distance to Hong Kong"...!!! I am so relieved to know she doesn't become a doctor. :-)
2.... Yup, we, Japanese, should totally import the custom of hugging but I guess we have a different way to interact with one another. That may be why we look shy and Japanese. (e.g. covering the mouth with a hand when laughing like a geisha)
3....After quitting my job, I happen to grow a beard as I won't be yelled at by HR department. It's hard to keep it neat by using the trimmer but I do it. I think having a beard does make me look older so I didn't get carded during the entire trip in the States last month. The fact I didn't get carded actually made me sad a little...
4....I was able to have something greasy shown in the photo for lunch today. Finally. :-) Yay.
You have a wonderful day!

HA! I love it when you're bitchy. Don't worry about your American friend's geography challenges -- most Americans couldn't name the country north of the United States in a recent poll. Ah, and another third couldn't point out Louisiana on a map when asked following Hurricane Katrina.

Glad you can eat again, and keep the food, that is! :)

1. Heh, did she even realize you were mocking her? She doesn't sound too bright.

2. Hugs... well sometimes they are nice. Sometimes just... awkward. There are a couple of commercials in the US lately that make fun of the difference between the greeting in Japan and the US. One is the Wii commercial when the two guys bring a Wii two two country guys and are horrified after when one guy hugs them. The other is a detergent commercial there two Japanese businessmen meet two Americans. The younger Japanese guy smells the American guy's shirt then he moves closer and kind of hugs him and rubs his face all over the American and sniffs him. Confusion ensues! It's kind of gay.

3. I remember when Mysterious Asian Man from my gym grew a beard. Umm.

4. Hmm, that looks yummy! How was your tummy?

TK

1) I didn't realize that you needed to know high level math to be a doctor. Why would a doctor need to know anything beyond Algebra? Chemistry I can understand, but, math?
2) Somehow, I just can't picture you being shy like a geisha! ;)
3) I think that it's high time that we saw a photo of you, beard and all!
4) What is it exactly?

I completely agree about the *pre-med* thing.
I can't imagine Japanese hugging.
Sexy!
Really glad to hear you're able to eat greasy food again. :-) haha

Have a wonderful week-end!!

1. Ooooh, Shigeki has teeth and claws when he's sick. You're so sexy when you bitch.

2. Norwegians like to hug, and if that's an excuse to hug a hunky Norwegian, I don't mind adapting to their culture. :-) And yeah, somehow, that geisha shy laugh is trademark Japanese. We even do it sometimes.

3. Ooooh again. A man who embraces his facial hair with great abandon is just sexy. Post a pic!

4. Love the hotdog. Miss onion rings. Freshness Burger? That's the name of the restaurant? Sounds cool!

Premed students? :) They're always a competitive weird bunch.

1) HAHAHAHAHA

2) hugs are nice, especially tight hugs, but i prefer kissing friends on both cheeks the way the boys in montréal do.

3) now that you're not working at your company you should post a pic of your face! i know i'm not the only one who's curious as to what you look like. (^__^)

4) i haven't had a hotdog with onion rings in a loooooooooooong time!

Hi Steve,

Well, when I am extremely bitchy, some people get scared :-) You mean Canada? No way. :-) I wonder how geography class is taught though. Putting up the world map on the bathroom wall helped me :-) You have a wonderful weekend!

Hi T.Kevin,

Wow, I'd love to see those commercials. But yes, I am sure these reallly illustrate how uncomfy we get when we are hugged or hug. :-) My tummy is okay but I still cough a little. I am sure it will go away soon (hopefully. You have a wonderful weekend!

Hi TigerYogi,

Actually, you need to think logically and math helps you do that :-) many science majors including mine (biochem) usually require calclus and some other math classes as part of required classes to get a degree. Yes, mathmateics is important and fantabulous :-) Well, I am always shy like a geisha :-) The food in that photo was onion rings, hotdog, and iced coffee :-) You have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Maggie,

Well, I think younger japanese crowds happen to hug one another actually. but not as often as you do :-) I wish you a fantabulous weekend!

Hi Mark,

Fresshness burger is a sophisticated Japanese burger chain which is so much better than some burger chains. :-) Norwegians like to hug? That's nice. I don't get to do that often here. :-( You have a wonderful weekeend!

Hi Paul,

They are? I haven't dealt with them so much so I woulnd't know :-) Wait a sec, weren't you one of those? You have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Raph,

kissing on both cheeks is another level that I would feel so uncomfy and anxious. :-) Thanks for the suggestion. The guy who doesn't post a photo of himself could be either ugly so it's better without it for your comfort. I especially don't look pretty these days. :-( You have a wonderful weekend!

Hang on! When did you become ugly? When I met you 10 days ago, you weren't that. You must upload a pic. Then, you can get a boyfriend!!!!!! It's very frustrating you are TOO humble sometimes.

you know, kissing a guy on both cheeks as a greeting made me a bit uncomfortable at first because we don't do that in toronto and i didn't know when it was appropriate, whether it was only for really, really good friends or if it was appropriate also for simple acquaintances. but, soon, i learned that it was fine for everyone and got over it.

beauty is in the eye of the beholder. i think facial hair is sexy! besides, from the various body parts that you've posted of yourself in the past, i doubt that you would be ugly in any way whatsoever.

cheers!

I hope you are feeling better.

You are right, she probably didn't continue with her medical carreer becasue she is bad at something.

At first I didn't dig country.

Everytime I check my Twitter Account, I get a really weird feeling I'm being followed... anyone else get this?
