2... Do you see the photo? that's actually the photo of the closest subway station to my place. They have finally installed the platform door thingies :-) Yay. This is one of the mysterious thingies in Tokyo. But, all of the sudden, a workaholic middle aged man jumps into the train track and kills himself. Whether you believe it or not, it does happen more than you can imagine. There is this major line coming from the suburb to the city and this line used to stop its operation for an hour or so almost weekly due to those people comitting suicide. It still happens... So these doors are to prevent those brain-washed workaholic persons from comitting suicide. :-) I hear the delay fee per one incident is almost 100 million yen = US$ 826 thousand = Euro 6369 thousand.
3... I have been straight (um... sober) since Monday. How strong am I :-)
4... It was reported it's been one of the warmest winter here in many areas of Japan. I can totally believe it. I didn't have to wear a coat today at all. Soon we have to expose ourselves more :-) Yay. Spring :-) You have a fantabulous day!
I read somewhere that Japan has one of thie highest suicide rates. I think it has something to do with overworking. Well, I don't know Japan really to be able to come up with a reason for the statistic. Anyway, why don't you flash some more skin since you're well on your way to shedding those winter clothes. Yay!
I think everywhere there is a subway system has to deal with suicides.
I know in Toronto there are a lot but they don't publish them because it's bad for business. The only ones we know about are the ones where there are witnesses.
Those doors are great. I used to worry about some crazy pushing me, so I would stand way back on the platform.

I would gladly change your weather for mine. We had snow / sleet yesterday. This past Saturday the weather was in the 70's and this coming Saturday it will be in the 30's. Crazy Weather.

I am sure the rate is getting lower since our economic situation is much better than several years ago :-) Yup, it might have to do with overtime but it also has to be with some financial problems, I assume. The economics was really bad back then. a lot of people got fired and became homeless even. But I am glad things got better :-) To be honest, it's freaking freezing tonight! On the Yahoo! Japan website, there is a section for "Transportation Status" and you can actually see which line is delayed due to what reason :-) So I guess we publish everything. I have worried about getting pushed from behind. That's really scary. But you know what? There was a killer who pushed someone on the plast form several months ago at my work station!!! geez. Wow that seems like an awfully expensive and elaborate addition, and couldn't you just climb over it if you really wanted to? Here in DC someone jumps in front of the Metro once avery couple months or so. BUt Tokyo is much larger.
They released the global warming report today. It's pretty bad.
