That cake looks delicious and worth every Yen, and the Champange well........
what can I say, except.........What are you doing next Christmas? :)
The Christmas cakes here are (I shudder as I think of them) full of dried fruit and nuts and so dry you need to have a liqued to wash it down or it would stick in your throat. It blows my mind that some people really like them.

Shikegi, Merry Christmas. I loved the singing in your audio blog.

I went to Mass on Christmas eve too and tried to cruise all the cute Catholic boys (I'm a non believeing heathen myself, and I think they could sense that, so I didn't have much luck -- or maybe it was my BF giving them dirty looks that kept the cute Catholic guys from crusing me back... )

What was it made of?!! I had always heard that most "Christmas Cakes" in Japan were sponge cakes.

That is a lovely looking cake! At work before the Christmas weekend, we had a cake that is topped (as in filled to the brim) with all sorts of fresh fruits and chocolate thins! I should have taken a picture of it, too! It's so darn good. Will look out for this brand of champagne here in Norway. You're quite becoming the somelier, huh? :-) Ready to bang the new year right?

Doesn't it? I usually get a chocolate kind just like every other Japanese but I went for something extraordinary this time. Unlike the cakes you mentiones, these are very smooth and moisty. But I still need something to wash it down :-) You have a fantabulous Thursday!

Really? Here in Japan, the kind of Christmas cake that is very popular is bûche de Noel. The one I bought last year. As you can see, this thing is from France obviously. I thought England/UK would do Christmas "pudding". :-) We are obsessed with French sweets. :-) You have a fantabulous Thursday!

It was rather a unusual looking Christmas cake but it tasted so good :-) Wow, since it was so good you forgot taking a photo of it? huh :-) Maybe, next year :-) Well, I was once trying to be a somellier when I distributed chicken or beef up in the air.
