He is sexy no matter what.

I am absolutely sure many of you recognize him. Ken Watanabe. He is a Japanese actor. He was even in the movie, Last Samurai (I hated that movie though). He is on the cover of GQ Japan this month. 47 years old, and his hair is thinning but I find him very handsome still. Well, he does look like he is 47 years old in my personal opinion and he doesn't look younger than that. But that's totally okay. I went to see a dermatologist since I have some minor problems on my arms and while waiting in the lobby, I saw this medication for skin ad featuring a beautiful woman saying "I am 42". Her skin was fantabulous. But I think aging is okay. Personally, I think aging naturally is better than very tight face lift that you can actually see how tight the skin is. :-) Or am I totally in denial? Although natural aging is so okay, I don't have to look older than I need to... yup... I will go to bed before midnight today for better skin tone then after taking the pills perscribed for better skin tone. :-) yup. :-) According to my doctor, the skin turnover happens while you are asleep between 11p.m. and 1a.m. :-) I wonder my skin gets fantabulous at all if I sleep by 11p.m. every night for several weeks...I'd love to try but impossible... Anyway, you have a fantabulous day and take good care of your skin!

Of course 'Thge Last Samurai' sucked.....Tom Cruise was in it. He sucks, lol. I did like the line at the end, though, when Ken was dying on the battlefield as the cherry blossoms were falling, and said everything was 'perfect'. Kind of romantic, I mean, that emodies the old samurai spirit....dying a warrior's death while the cherry blossoms fall

I agree about aging gracefully- i look ok, but I have had some grey hairs since I was a teenager and don' feel like dying them. It's who I am, you know? So many women in the US and Asian countries too are gettiing all this surgery, and they end up looking fake, sometimes like spac alients (like Joan Rivers). I'm sure you look great!

RE: fms's comment about space aliens, I have to say Mia Lee has gone overboard. She used to be so beautiful, but she's had so much plastic surgery trying to make herself look white or something. It always sounds like she has a cold, but it's probably a botched nose job.

Anyway, I agree--we should try to take better care of ourselves. I bought a jar of skin cream in China--it's like super, super mentholated mentholatum. It's got crushed pearls in it, too. I'll let you know if it works!

Did you see Ken Watanabe in the Alzheimer movie? It was offered on the Singapore Airlines in-flight selections, but I didn't want to cry, so I skipped it. He is definitely BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!! (and so are you, S-chama)

I am sure you are looking great in person since you always managed to get the great guy in town.. :)

You can start with applying eye cream, it will help to reduce the thin line around your eye.. :)

I agree about aging gracefully.

I swear, if some of these Hollywood starlets get one more facelift, then they'll end up with a "beard", if you know what I mean! ;P

As I'm almost 48 I find the "he is 47 years old...but...handsome STILL" comment a bit shocking!! :)

As you've blogged about before, I do share your obsession with buying skin care poducts. If my skin is at its best when I sleep then why do I look like shit when I first wake up!?

Have a non-saggy, wrinkle-free skin day :)

steve

His hair is thinning?? I think you are being very generous with that description.:-)
I think it is his "thinning" hairline that makes him look older. He is a handsome man though.

I agree about cosmetic surgery, it makes some woman look freakin scary.

Here's to bed before 11. :-)

oh god yes, i'd happily be his bitch. oh yes. god yes.!! hair or not. fuckit. yum!!

He's quite handsome, even if he isn't as pretty as Brad Virata or hot as Yul Kwon. :-)

Hope you are doing fantabulously, Shigeki! Any dancing in the server room lately?

TK

Hi Fashmasgslag,

Yeah, that might be it but you know he wasn't as stupid as he is :-) I guess the lead role in that movie was not played by Tom Cruise. That's what I thought. But I seriously didn't like it. The story was sucky as well. That's weird you have gray hairs already in your teens. What did you do about these? To be honest, I dye my hair to black because I have weird brownish hair naturally. :-( Enjoy the rest of year 2006!

Hi Gaijingirl,

I guess there is gotta be some magic in Hollywood that everybody in there believes that things that we don't find attractive are beautiful. I don't know. It must be a pararelle world or something. Well, my point was not to take better care of ourselves actually. It's totally alright to age naturally than doing a lot of cosmetic procedures was my point. :-) Though right now, at this point, I am so relying on the medications I got from the clinic :-) Enjoy the rest of year 2006!

Hi Lifebook,

Excuse me? but I managed to get the great guy in town???? When? when did I? Mr. Stubble dumped me because I am too "unavailable". I saw that coming. And he kinda yelled at me in public actually That was humiliating so proving my point, nope, I am not looking great because I don't get to meet any great guy at all :-( Enjoy the rest of year 2006!

Hi TigerYogi,

I didn't get that "beard" part until I looked it up :-) hahaha, I am not sure why these hollywood people keep doing awful things on their faces. But there were several awful plastic surgery web sites and it was quite a freak show. :-) Enjoy the rest of year 2006!

Hi Steve,

Oh, I am sorry I didn't mean that with that sentence. I didn't talk about the age. That "handsome STILL" part was associated with his thinning hair. :-) But then, I might get similar comments from offended people whose hair is thinning then.... okay, it's no win-win situation. Anyway, I guess I am totally okay that I gain wrinkels here and there. Wrinkles are so much better than pimples. :-) Right now, I am focusing on my medication and will think about how I wanna take good care of my skin :-) Enjoy the rest of year 2006!

Hi Maggie,

I am being very generous? Really? Well, actually, he had leukemia ever since then, his hair was like that. So I guess leukemia treatment did that to him? I am not sure. But he is very handsome. :-) I am not against cosmetic surgery but I just cannot understand why some people want that to look freakier. :-) Some others have a very nice taste and turn out better. :-) Anyway... enjoy the rest of year 2006!

Hi Mark,

But you are already attached and he is very straight and married. I am sorry to ruin your dream. :-) Enjoy the rest of year 2006!

Hi TK,

Oh yes, he is quite handsome. I am not sure about these muscular asian dudes. Are these your type? Then, you are in a serious problem because not many asian dudes are like that. :-( I haven't been in the server room lately as I am trying to bench myself to stay away from the daily work as the other staffers have to do that for me at one point after I quit. :-) I am composing a lot of documents but I still dance :-) Enjoy the rest of year 2006!

Now I feel bad for saying anything about his thinning hair. :-(
I didn't know he had leukemia, that might be why.

Just goes to show that some remarks should remain unspoken. Sorry.

Hi Maggie,

Well, you didn't know that he had leukemia so that's totally okay. Don't feel bad at all. No need to be sorry. :-)

I like him too. Wasn't he in Memoirs of a Geisha? I am pretty sure that was him.

I hope your skin is looking fantabulous.
