My life is pretty much non-exciting these days but I guess this blog suits my non-exciting days very well. Yay

You have a fantabulous Thursday!

What do you mean non exciting? What about Mr. Stubble? :-)

We have bento here in Canada also. In fact they are extremely popular. We have Japanese chefs? making them however we want, right in front of us. We don't have as many selections as you do but they are delicious. There are also the pre- packaged ones available. Also the vegan ones....eg. brown rice, avocado, carrots. Yummmmmy.

PS Japan's idea of department store meals is way better than, let's say.............
somewhere you were recently. :-)

PPS Regarding the one made by your future husband. When will that be?

Que sera, sera.

the funny thing about bento here in canada is that we refer to them as "bento boxes".

i'm always amazed at how prettily food is arranged in japanese restaurants.

Vegan Sushi...YUM!

Shigeki-san, it's Hanuman!

I've taken on a new name and blog! Come visit me soon! :)

You are right. It's boring. I am surprised you still do it. There is no point you keep blogging. You are full of hypocrisy. Cut the crap. Shut it down NOW!

Malaysia, Bento, Yes.

I sometimes wonder how fresh those things are... sitting for too long...

Xmas is here indeed...not too early...i was listenning to xmas carold yesterday morning and probably today 2...the decoration for xmas are here a week ago...Bento? well we have a sushi chain here called "sushi bento" and now i know what bento means:P as for the boxes! well we have some yet not as designed as yours indeed..yours sound like a kids box where you can find intresting things visually and tasty...Japanese do know the importance of colors and shapes indeed!!! and how important that is...i love the huge (fish or shrimp) eggs u had...next time i will decorate a plate for you...just wait till im in Japan!

Shigeki san, thank you for the lesson in your last post. Growing up in Hawaii, we used to sing this song to the tune of Are You Sleeping? or the French version: Frere Jaque (sp?)...
Bento bako, bento bako
Okazu- , okazu-
Musubi and ume, musubi and ume
Daikon too, daikon too
BTW, who is this Chai? Maji desu ka?!?!
Lane

I have had Bento Box here too... lots of us have ioutside of Japan, it seems. Though parhaps your readers are more 'worldly' than most. :-)

Now I am hungry after seeing all the yummy boxes!

Not very fantabulous today, for me, am sick once again.

Anway, I like Sushi, I like Bento, I like most Japanese food. I wish they sell it cheaper here though (here = Malaysia).

@Chai
Maybe your sarcasm/humor isn't coming through in your comments, but I think you're being extremely rude to both Shigeki and the rest of us who visit his blog because it is a POSITIVE and HAPPY bit of cyberspace.

Shigeki is too polite to tell you to take your comments and shove 'em, but I don't think I'm the only one of his readers who would like to do it for him. Please take your HATE somewhere else.

Sorry for interfering, S-chan. I know you can fight your own battles. I miss the school lunches and depa chika. The X'mas cakes look GORGEOUS--Fuji TV had a profile of the cakes marketed to single men. Very labor intensive, but they look amazing! Enjoy the belated autumn/early winter!

That Starbucks cup looks fancy. I miss Starbucks and their collect-a-stamp promo during this time of the year, which when you've collected enough stamps, you'll get a really cool journal/planner for the next year!

Bento is actually one of the first Japanese words I learned when I was watching that TV show with a Filipina host travelling around Japan and tasting all crazy stuffs, including fried crickets. Aaaah! But those weren't served in bentos. Hehehe. I saw that schoolkids would bring bentos to their school for lunch. Yum!

That has to be the most adorable sushi set ever! :)

It is way to early for Christmas merchandise, music, or cups. It should be outlawed until the 1st of December.

Hi Maggie,

I haven't been able to do things with Mr. Stubble for the last two days. But yeah, he is exciting alright. :-) The vegan bentos sound really really nice. :-) Hahaha. yes, it is very actually nice there. :-) But I'd love to have a homemade one by my husband. Ugh... Que Sera Sera.... :-) You have a fantabulous weekend!

Hi Raph,

It actually makes sense as the container itself is called Bento Bako (Bako is a word for boxes). :-) I guess we all judge by their looks. :-0 You have a fantabulous weekend!

Hi TigerYogi,

Yes, Vegan Sushi. you should try one since you said you wouldn't try Sushi. :-) Thanks for the heads-up, TigerYogi. Oh, your name totally reminds me. I should totally watch the Nude Yoga DVD program... You have a fantabulous Weekend!

Hi Chai,

Sorry. I guess I do it because I want to tarck of my life for myself. There is actually a point that I keep doing this. You don't have to see that though. Sorry if I sound so hyprocrisy. :-( But I am sorry that I cannot fulfill your request since I still have some more to blog about. :-) You have a fantabulous Weekend!

Hi William,

You know what's funny about this? A friend of mine bought a bento at a convenience store when it was a humid brutal sticky 37 degree summer. He had to go on a biz trip so he left his bento at his home and didn't put it in the fridge. He was totally worried if the whoe apartment of his would be smelly after the one week biz trip. It turned out the bento didn't go bad at all even though it sat there in the summer humid room temperature! That was actually scarrier than looking at the bento gone bad. I guess they have a lot of preserves.... You have a fantabulous Weekend!

Hi Envy,

It is already there? Wow. :-) It is too warm to have Christmas here in Tokyo. That's so great that you now know what it means. :-) Well, we totally rely on seaons for so many things in our lives. Food is one of them. That might be it. :-) A hot Lebannon guy preparing some (possibly naked with an apron on please) would be one of my fantasies. :-) You have a fantabulous Weekend!

HI Lane,

No problem at all, mate. Thanks for sharing the song but I have never sung that one before even though it's all in Japanese! How's that possible? :-) Though I know a little song that I used to sing in a kindergarten. The song of Bento. :-) I have no idea who Chai is but he must be blowing off his stress here. He is from Germany. Is he someone I know? huh.. You have a fantabulous weekend!

Hi T.Kevin,

That's interesting that Bento is called bento :-) Worldly :-) That's a nice word to put it. :-) I hope you had nice lunch after seeing my blog. :-) You have a fantabulous Weekend!

Hi Leggie,

I am sorry that you are being sick. I hope you got a lot better since Thrusday! They are expensive there? That's unreasonable because Bento is the least fantabulous type of food you could get here so it's cheaper than usual lunch.... Anyway, you have a fantabulous weekend!

Hi GaijinGirl,

Oh, thanks for looking after me but you don't have to do that. There was some mad persons in the past who left me an angry comment and I read "introduction to internet psychology" so I can deal with it. :-) But thanks for your support! You know I don't actually miss school lunches because I went to this Catholic highschool and we weren't allowed to have a lot of funny things to talk about. We had to be quiet. :-( You know I don't think there will be winter this year since the el nino thingy has been reported here in Tokyo.... You have a fantabulous Weekend!

HI Mark,

Really? that's so interesting. Are you sure they were crickets? Because one of the Tokyo specialities are fried like locusts :-) They look scary actually but they are so yummy. It's like grilled/fried pupas you could get in South Korea. :-) Though I haven't had them for years. They are not crazy. They used to be just the usual thing back in the old days. :-) You have a fantabulous weekend!

HI Cesar,

I know! Isn't it getting a lot earlier than it used to be? I mean you guys haven't had Turkey day yet! You have a fantabulous weekend!

I'll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)

I really appreciate this post. I have been looking everywhere for this! Thank goodness I found it on Bing. You have made my day! Thank you again

Sorry for the huge review, but I'm really loving the new Zune, and hope this, as well as the excellent reviews some other people have written, will help you decide if it's the right choice for you.

I really appreciate this post. Iˇ¦ve been looking everywhere for this! Thank goodness I found it on Bing. You've made my day! Thx again

If you're still on the fence: grab your favorite earphones, head down to a Best Buy and ask to plug them into a Zune then an iPod and see which one sounds better to you, and which interface makes you smile more. Then you'll know which is right for you.

Hands down, Apple's app store wins by a mile. It's a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I'm not sure I'd want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

As I site possessor I believe the content matter here is rattling wonderful , appreciate it for your hard work. You should keep it up forever! Best of luck.

I was just searching for this info for a while. After six hours of continuous Googleing, at last I got it in your website. I wonder what's the lack of Google strategy that don't rank this kind of informative websites in top of the list. Normally the top web sites are full of garbage.

The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it'll do even better in those areas, but for now it's a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod's strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.

As I site possessor I believe the content material here is rattling great , appreciate it for your hard work. You should keep it up forever! Good Luck.
