1... My favorite TV channel here is always "The Weather Channel". I mean knowing how the weather is in the city I am not in is very interesting. I can watch it for hours. Yes, I am geeky.2... I ordered a vegetarian pizza yesterday (How sad can my dinner get?) and asked for an additional topping, chicken. The pizza person went "what?" Well, I am not stupid. I didn't want beef in the sauce.
3... The only relaxing time during this assignment is singing loudly in the car. I don't care if I look like a freak because I am. :-) The theme song on my way to the office and back was "A public affair". I want one of those affair moments.
4... My friend, Jack, is gone. I bought a bottle of Jack Daniel's last week and it's empty....
5... The funniest moment yesterday was when this girl and another dude in the same team asked me questions. "So, are you guys in spring right now?" I didn't understand it... and she goes "Your season is completely opposite right?" I thought she was joking. and they kept asking stupid questions like "Does it ever snow there?".... Wow....Japan is not Hawaii, you know....I am very surprised that they handle one of the most important enterprise systems....
Have a fantabulous Wednesday!
Poor SHigeki, sounds like a not very good time in the US, with all the stupid people. Your friend Jack didn't make you want to 'entertain' yourself? :-(
TK
1) Yes, you are a Geek. ;P
2) What?!!
3) You GO Girl!!! :)
4) Well, what about his friends Johnnie Walker or Captain Morgan?
5) People in this country have no concept of geography...
6) I thought I felt the earth shake! Good for you Hon!! ;P
#4 made me laugh out loud. XD
#5 did you also tell that girl that people have to walk on their hands instead of their feet in japan because gravity acts differently over there? :P
Since we don't have cable at home, the thing I always watch when I am in a hotel with cable is the Food Network, but I HATE the dubbed Iron Chef shows. The original in Japanese with English subtitles is so much better.
I am even more in love with Ming Tsai after learning he is my sempai at Cornell! ;D
Did you get annoyed at having to explain cultural diferences to your co-workers? It is kind of annoying.
1. I like watching our Weather Channel, too, because they show one famous structure from the city they are showing the weather of and it's like a mini-travelogue.
2. I had a vegetarian meal today, couscous topped with Moroccan inspired vegetable stew. It was ok but the coriander spoiled it for me! Any topping but coriander. Chicken's nice.
3. Can we listen to an "audio mumbling" with you singing, Shigeki?
4. Then get some more!
5. Ok, enough said.
6. Like HBO. Simply the best.
:-)
The next time you touch yourself, please do so while providing us with an audio blog, pleeeeeeeeeze! :)
1. I used to love The Iron Chef. I tried to get in on DVD but I can't find it anywhere.
2. Beef in the tomato sauce??? I never heard of that. (on a pizza)
3. Every sane person sings in their car when driving alone. :-)
4. I had a patient in Toronto once, a popular TV broadcaster, that had an adorable son whose name was Jack. Thruout our conversation he told me he called him Jack because Jack Daniel's got him thru university. :-) True story
5. They must have been thinking about Australia, and got confused!! haha
6. None of my beeswax. :-)
Have a Vunderful Thursday.
PS That's not a typo. :-)
When I was in Japan, people did ask me whether Malaysians still lived on trees. I guess "stupid" questions come by no matter where you are. LOL.
Shigeki- there's no beef in pizza sauce!!! you are so funny to order a vegetarian pizza with chicken. So .. you mean they have Spring in Tokyo. I thought it was near the South Pole. -Gregg
Hi T.Kevin,
That's pretty much okay since I don't have to be here forever. :-) I so do know there are so many wonderful places in this country but this particular suburb city isn't as some local people told me it's not the best place to stay. Well, my very close friend Jack is entertaining. He does his job fine. :-) But I wish I had a real Jack or someone. :-) You have a fantabulous day!
Hi Hanuman1960,
Well, I am not a close friend with Jonnny actually. I don't know I get boozed badly when I drink Johnny. I've never tried Captain Morgan though. I should do him. :-) Well, some people back in Japan don't know where Hawaii is so that's pretty much okay. But I was very surprised. Didn't it snow in the movie, Last Samurai? huh.. You have a fantabulous day!
Hi Raph,
hahahaha. That's too funny. I should have said something like that when they asked me questions. I wasn't in a funny mood so all I said was "We are not from tropical place though".... But I am glad they confirmed they are stupid. :-) At least, that's good they know what they are. :-) You have a fantabulous day!
Hi GaijinGirl,
I don't like Iron Chef thingies since one of those noble chefs is so lousy. I am not gonna tell you which. :-) I guess his restaurant even had a food poisoning issue and had to shut down for awhile. Too bad, I am not a cornell graduate. I didn't well on SATs. :-( You have a fantabulous day!
Hi Cesar,
Well, I don't mind explaining cultural differences if these questions are legitimate and reasonable. I hate it when they ask me something like "How many samurai swords do you have?" :-) That would be bizarre. You have a fantabulous day!
Hi Mark,
Exactly. That's the thing I like about watching the weather channel. Though it seems like it will rain this weekend here in the Boston area. oh well. :-( You told me about Coriander. I don't mind it but too much coriander would be something I wouldn't be able to handle. :-( WEll, I did the audioblog with stupid singing before. So that's the only thing I could offer. :-) You have a fantabulous day!
HI Steve,
Well, I don't think I will ever do that. This is a very private thingy so you should come over here and hear it for real instead. :-) You have a fantabulous day!
Hi Maggie,
Well, you wanna get it on DVD? Try youtube.com first. :-) Well, there is no beef meat per se but there are some beef elements in the sauce so I didn't want that. (though it's not religious or anything). I think Jack is a cute name. Though I don't love Jack that much. :-) I tried to look it up but I still don't get it. You are not trying to sound like a polish? no? :-) You have a fantabulous day!
Hi Hafiz Hector,
Yup, those people are all over the world actually. I totally understand. :-) You have a fantabulous day!
HI Gregg,
The description of the pizza said there was some beef thingy in it but you are right maybe not in the sauce. So I ordered a vegitarian pizza but wanted some non-beef meat so ordered that. :-) hahaha. The south pole could be near if you are too drunk. You have a fantabulous day!
