I was going to talk about something else as I don't do anything negative so much here on this blog. I am not depressed. I am trying to enjoy the situation I was put int but I am still figuring out. I hope it will be better from today. :-) You have a fantabulous week!
I understood you perfectly! Hang on in there, Shigeki-san... it isn't just you. There are tons of shitheads in the US don't know manners even if you spray it bukkake-style all over their faces.
(btw you have a very sexy voice... I will be very excited if you say "she-sell-sea-shells-by-the-sea-shore")
Ahh, I feel so bad for you. I wish that I was back on the East Coast and I would be happy to be your tour guide. Your voice sounds so cute, but, regardless, I think that you have a very intetesting blog. Anyway, I wish that you were enjoying the Boston area better. You should go to New York one day. I used to live in New York, and it reminds me of Tokyo, but, Tokyo is much, much nicer. Well, of course, I wouild think. that. Keep your head up, I am sure that if you keep your eyes open, you will find many nice people and admirers in the Boston area. Take care.
Robert
I think you should stay strong and focused and order your order loudly thats all...after all they are here to get your money and serve you!!! UNDERSTAND THAT...SERVE YOU!!! so don't let anyone cross over untill you get what u want first...they don't understand? well they will eventuallly no worries here...let them have a hard time guessing what you want:P enjoy your GRANDE AMERICANO...
nv
shigeki- your pronounciation sounds good to me. i think you are confusing i think you are confusing distaste with indifference. people here lack a sense of common courtesy. now you can appeciate my tirades against boston. -gregg
I'd suggest the following approaches:
1) "Do you speak English, I asked for [repeat order]."
2) "Hey asshole [to person butting in front of you in line], I'm before you."
Of course you're in the US, so these responses might prompt unexpected gun related violence :)
Don't blame yourself for such rudeness on the part of others.
Enjoy the rest of your stay! And have a fantabulous week!
It's NOT you. I understood you perfectly, obviously the server was not listening. Probably thinking about his/her next break. As for the rude guy, yech!
FYI
Caffeine content of Starbucks Grande Caffe Americano
A 16 ounce cup of Starbucks Grande Caffe Americano contains 174 milligrams of caffeine.
HaHa . Sounds like you needed it though. Get home as fast as you can. :-)
You are not hard to understand at all. I could guess that this person was not listening, or paying attention. At any rate, no one should have butted ahead of you. You must understand that not everyone in the US is like this. I'd be mortified if someone did that around here. Most people in my area are only too happy to help.
C'mon down to the South next trip. We'll treat y'all like family.
And my GAWD..you have the sexiest voice......
Fantabulous....oh, yes. Fantabulous. This perplexual wishes you a fantabulous week, too!
Hi Colin,
Thanks very much. I think this is the hardest biz trip I have ever had but I am trying to find something good :-) I am sure there are so many people like that all over the world. I've seen them in Japan as well. :-) They say I have a sexy voice but I don't really find it sexy at all. But thanks! You have a fantabulous Tuesday!
Hi Rebelguy38,
Thanks for the compliment though my blog is all about "non-exciting scribbles". :-) I did actually enjoy the Boston area for the first time yesterday so I guess it has gotten better. :-) You know I wish I could go to NYC but it's just I have so much stuff to deal with.. ugh! I did find a nice person who let me cut in the lane I wanted to move to while driving on I-90 today. :-) You have a fantabulous Tuesday!
Hi NV,
Well, to be honest, I don't wanna be strong like that. I guess I would like to make myself more understandable to them since they frequently go "I am sorry?". That's all. I think I've bee hearing forever here. huh... I got that I am sorry again at Starbucks today. OH well. I should raise my voice when I do that next time or something. You have a fantabulous Tuesday!
Hi Gregg,
Thanks very much. That's right. Your blog gave me real ideas what it is like about. It's just different. :-) If I were here to live, I would've tried harder as there is the saying "Do as the romans do" but since I am visiting, it's just different and cannot get used to this yet. You know what I find funny? I say "good morning" to almost everybody in the office but I only get a few "good morning" back....I think they are not happy? you have a fantabulous Tuesday!
Hi Steve,
Thank you very much for your suggestions. I might wanna say that in my head but not for real as I'd be so dead. :-) Though I might lose it and say things like that if they keep skipping me. I am just having a little unreasonable time here but I hope it will get better. :-) You have a fantabulous Tuesday!
Hi Maggie,
Whew, good that you were able to understand what I am saying. And thanks for the caffeine content info. :-) Though I am not sure if it's a lot or little. :-) I think I've been having more coffee than ever. :-) But it's not that bad at all. It's a substitute of drugs or something. :-0 You have a fantabulous Tuesday!
Hi Jason,
Well. I guess it happens a lot to me. Maybe, I am not seen as I am in the line? I have no idea. :-) Yes, I have seen many nice people in this country but you see there are those unreasonable people everywhere on this planet unfortunately. :-) I've never been to the South except for Florida so I should check it out before I die! And nope, my voice is not sexy. Stop saying that :-) You have a fantabulous Tuesday!
Hi Mr. Bri,
hehehe, I wish my week gets more fantabulous :-) Thank you for your wish! You have a fantabulous Tuesday!
I am sorry Shigeki, I feel like I should apologize for all Americans because your English is perfectly understandable and clear to me. I on the other hand have trouble understanding people in my own country who have trouble speaking english in a similar environment.
I don't know what to say, but I wish we could all communicate easier
I wonder why they can't understand you, I think your english is great. Maybe it's their Boston accent.
