A fabulous little side trip!!!

Your Mom loves bagels?!!! That's so cute!! Airport security must give you some funny looks though!!

Have a safe trip home! :)

Don't you just love bartenders that call you "baby!"

Hope your trip home was safe and US Homeland Security didn't call in the bomb disposal squad to blow up your bagels!

The best bagels are boiled (in water) before they're baked.

Oh no! The best bagel are from delis or bagel shops here as they are a Jewish food that thrived here.....the packaged bagels are just like rolls, not really bagels.

And I don't get how flying to California from the east coast is faster..... as opposed to 13 1/2 hours straight from here. Still, sounds like SF was fun.

Such a good son, Shigeki. I bought a couple of fresh bagels at the grocery last night, but now I don't want them because they are so full of carb-calories.

I love San Francisco too, and it sounds like communication was not a problem, baby! ;-) And that hotel looked very nice.

TK

Sigh... u didn't go to the Eagle? Or Paddyfields? Sooo many nice bars in SF!!!
Have a good flight home! Maybe you'll join the mile high club sometime! w

I LOVE San Francisco. My ex lives in Noe Hills, right behing Castro.

And I agree about West Coast people. I grew up in Los Angeles and people in San Francisco are so relaxed and easy going. People from L.A. are relaxed but pretentious.

Oh, how i miss the west coast.

I have to say as someone born in L.A., there are not many of us around SoCal anymore. The "pretentious" L.A. people seem to be those who moved here from elsewhere to try to get into the biz, but that's just my take. They've ruined L.A. for me, which is why I want to escape to the countryside.

Anyway, I know there are a few small bagel chains in Tokyo popping up here and there, like in Shinjuku station, but you say those are not the same as American bagels? I'd be so happy to eat a bagel in Japan that I didn't notice the difference! I bought a dozen Noah's bagels to take to a brunch on Saturday. Their pumpkin cream cheese and maple walnut cream cheese was DIVINE!!!!! And I enjoyed a toasted pumpernickel and cream cheese bagel for breakfast.

I thought you were flying home tomorrow...sorry to have missed you. Otsukare & okaeri!!!!! MUWAH, baby!

Hope you had a good flight back home! Safe travelling.....

Weather in Tokyo has been awesome for the last few days! These are the days that I will miss most when I leave Japan in November. It has been an experience for me!! :-)

You go all the way to SF and all you do is Safeway? :P

Hi Hanuman1960,

yes, it was indeedy good but too short unfortunately. Though I did have an extended great weekend in Cambridge so I shouldn't complain after all. :-) Hehehe, whenever I go to your country, I at least have one bag of bagles in my suitcase for my mother. yup. :-) You have a fantabulous Wednesday!

Hi Steve,

Oh yeah, and the bonus thing was that he was very pretty and friendly. :-) No wonder I tipped him very well. :-) Yup, my trip was very great and the bagels were very safe and in tact. :-) Yeah, I have heard about the boiling part because it gets more sticky and firm so it will be chewy in a good way. I like that. You have a fantabulous Wednesday!

Hi Fashmagslag,

Well, my family is pretty much okay with packaged bagles actually and I love them so. :-) I am more used to the west coast and I wanted to feel the very friendly atomsphere before going back to Tokyo. Besides, if you stop by on the west coast for a night or two, the flight to Japan will be only 9 hours. :-) I don't know but I just like it that way. :) Yes, it was fun but too short!! You have a fantabulous Wednesday!

Hi TK,

Hahaha. I pretend to be. :-) Well, you shouldn't be too much worried about carb calories. You can burn them, no? there are so many activities you can do to burn those extra calories and I heard bagles are healthier than other kinds of bread. :-) Communication was not a problem there, baby. :-) I am glad I stopped by there. You have a fantabulous Wednesday!

Hi Colin,

The Eagle? That's so not my scene actually. I'd feel competely out of the place if I went there. I went to one of the easy going bars in SF so it was fun. And it was a quiet night anyway. For some reason, the Stud was closed. Oh well. I did have a great flight. Thanks! hahaha on Mile high club stuff but I don't think it's comfy in there though. you have a fantabulous Wednesday!

Hi Cesar,

So do I. :-) I love it there because I could talk to strangers when things come up. :-) I cannot do that really in boston, can I? So I was having a great time and people are very friendly indeedy. ! Yes, going there once in a while is a great idea! You have a fantabulous week!

Hi Gaijingirl,

I am so guessing the same thing can be said for Tokyo? Because Tokyoites are not that stuck up but there are so many people here in Tokyo who are not originally from Tokyo. though I don't think I will move to the country side. :-) Well, these bagels sold here in Tokyo are not that firm. I like firm chewy kinds. :-) And they are darn expensive here!!!! What's up wit those? I mean the ones at Shinjuku station! :-) Pumpkin cream cheese? Maple walnut cream chees? OH MY GOD, what are you doing to me? :-) I hope you enjoyed your fantabulous bagels. I am sure you did. You have a fantabulous Wednesday!

Hi Ian,

Oh yes, it was a great flight. I slept for the entire flight actually. I heard it was raining so badly and you couldn't really walk straight due to the strong winds! So you are getting ready for your leave? Where's your next destination? I hope you won't be too busy to do the clean up. Enjoy the last days in Tokyo! You have a fantabulous Wednesday!

Hi Paul,

No, that's not the only thing I did. I went clubbing, got a great sauvignon blanc, took the cable car to feel the city, watched people pass by at the cozy cafe. :-) You have a fantabulous Wednesday!

Hello, you used to write magnificent, but the last few posts have been kinda boringˇK I miss your tremendous writings. Past few posts are just a little out of track! come on!

Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It's very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.

I like what you guys are up too. Such smart work and reporting! Carry on the excellent works guys Iˇ¦ve incorporated you guys to my blogroll. I think it will improve the value of my website :)

I am so happy to read this. This is the kind of manual that needs to be given and not the accidental misinformation that's at the other blogs. Appreciate your sharing this greatest doc.

As I web site possessor I believe the content matter here is rattling great , appreciate it for your efforts. You should keep it up forever! Best of luck.

I'll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)

Good web site! I truly love how it is simple on my eyes and the data are well written. I'm wondering how I could be notified whenever a new post has been made. I have subscribed to your RSS which must do the trick! Have a great day!

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like 'Mixview' that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you're listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of "neighbors" will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune "Social" is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

Good write-up, I am regular visitor of oneˇ¦s website, maintain up the nice operate, and It's going to be a regular visitor for a lengthy time.

Wow! This can be one particular of the most beneficial blogs We have ever arrive across on this subject. Basically Excellent. I am also a specialist in this topic so I can understand your hard work.

Between me and my husband we've owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I've settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.

I would like to thnkx for the efforts you've put in writing this blog. I am hoping the same high-grade web site post from you in the upcoming as well. Actually your creative writing skills has encouraged me to get my own website now. Really the blogging is spreading its wings rapidly. Your write up is a great example of it.

Hands down, Apple's app store wins by a mile. It's a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I'm not sure I'd want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it'll do even better in those areas, but for now it's a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod's strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.
