It's the time of the year again. Even though it's still humid (well, a lot less humid than it was in August) and hot (30 degrees Clesius 86 degrees Farenheit), the air smells like autumn already. This canned beer sold at any convenience store reminds me the autumn is on its way. This is the beer only sold in Autumn. The taste and aroma is richer than usual beers, and I like it very much. The weird creature in the center is Chinese legendary animal, qilin. The name of the beer company is "Kirin". BTW, there are so many "light" beers out there for less calories. I am not a big fan of those fake beers because I don't want to worry about my weight issue when I drink/ eat something fabulous. I want the best even if it has more calories....And what's up with those people who supersize everything but order a diet coke? Okay, I am being critical... sorry.... Another BTW, I am not on a strict diet or anything. I weighed myself at the gym this morning and it turned out I lost 5 kilos (11 pounds) and now weigh 61 kilos (134lbs). Considering I am only 171cm /5'7" tall, I think it's still okay. Look what corporate stress could do to my body...I lost muscles as well. I need to bulk up...It's a long way to get fantabulous abs... But I can never give up real super great beers like this even if it takes a lot more to get any fantabulous body part... I am hoping I can be all slutty when I go somewhere tropical next time... Seriously...sigh... You have a fantabulous Tuesday!
You know, I wish I liked beer. It looks good, but the smell just...ick. I can't get past the smell.
Also, S, honey, you don't NEED to be losing any weight. I'm 5'6" tall and weigh 152! EAT, child, EAT! ;-) I have an incredible ab routine you can try if you want. Just let me know, I'll be happy to share it.
The taste of Autumn... awww the beer sounds so nice. It feels like autumn here in Singapore too, it was freezing this morning at 26C.
You sound very skinny!!! I'm 5'11" and 160#... my mom will make you eat a lot more soba! :)
GASP! You are a lightweight! Only 61 kg. God, I am envious!
I think the "qilin" will help me on an illustration im doing about China! Ur so full of information SHIGEKI:) Cheers...

Thank you for being a Kirin beer supporter. I will tell my classmate (general manager of Kirin's hotel in Amagasaki)...maybe it will get us some Kirin perks! ;D
Thanks to you, Kirin is once again Japan's #1 beer/beverage company (after 5 years being #2).
I wish I were 61 kgs. I am 163 & 68ish. ( ; o ; ) Oh, well. At least I've got curves. If I could just do something about my pot belly and thunder thighs...
Yay for Kirin! I have been on a beer thing lately, after not drinking beer for months, now I have a Sapporo with my Thursday sushi. I hope you do not waste away to nothing, Shigeki, 134 sounds kind of slim!

How could you not notice 11 lbs gone? Especially in your clothes. I don't know about you but when I lose any weight, it's always in places where I don't want to. ie. ass. :-)
I can't believe you have seasonal beer. We just have the same beer all year round. Lots of choices from around the world though.
I don't like lite beer either, it just tastes like someone put ice in it and let it melt.
Have a wonderful day. :-)
Autumn is starting to make it's way into New England as well!! You're too skinny Shigeki-san! We've got to pump you up!!! :)
In the West, we call heavy, dark beers available in the fall "bok". Not sure if it's available in the USA since I think it would frighten Americans used to drinking only their rainwater and pony-piss strength beers :)
I just made a comment the other day that the weather was improving - ie less humid and hot but behold, I may have jumped to conclusion. Today was stinking hot!! Anyway, I can't wait for autumn.
Cool! I will have to drink this beer and when my friends/colleague ask, I will them them what you told me. I will appear really cultured :-)
What you only weigh 61 kgs? You need to bulk up mate! I weigh 63 kg. My ideal weight is 61 kg and am tyring to hit that weight so that my abs would be more pronounced!! heheheheh You have a good day!
Hi JaSoN,
Well, that's totally okay if you didn't like beer. It's not a must. :-) Well, I didn't plan on losing weight at all but I did... that was shocking. Before I get interested in the routine, I'd love to feel awesome abs while they are in the middle of that routine. :-) But yeah, I'd be very interested in that even if I cannot touch them. You have a fantabulous day!
Hi Colin,
Yeah, the taste of Autumn. :-) It is richer than usual beer even though Japanese beers are supposed to be rich anyway. It would be freezing to you if it's 26 degrees? wow... I'd say "hot". I wish I were taller like yourself. :-( You have a fantabulous day!
Hi Paul,
Well, those J-pop idols only weigh like 55 kilos or something so compared to that, I am just average actually... You have a fantabulous day!
HI Envy,
What illustration are you working on right now? That's gotta be interesting. Well, I am not full of information as my brain got full years ago... :-) You have a fantabulous day!
HI GaijinGirl,
As you probably know, I am a Sapporo beer guy so I don't regularly drink Kirin's but I'd be happy to receive tons of the taste of Autumn. :-) Sapporo is the number 3 company but I cannot quit Sapporo! :-) I hate to break it to you but homo world is so judgemental and "stats" oriented... you know... You have a fantabulous day!
Hi T.Kevin,
I read somewhere that you picked up on the Sapporo thing. I am proud of you! :-) I wish I could bring you a Sapporo beer from Japan so that you can compare the difference. There are three kinds of Sapporo here. I love all! 134 is kinda in the average range actually here... You have a fantabulous day!
Hi Maggie,
Well, My waits got thinner but other than that, I didn't notice a lot difference. I feel tired all the time though. Oh, that's the age thingy, actually. :-) We do have lots of choices around the world like Corona, Budwiser, Heineken, etc. But I never even bothered to buy imported ones. :-) Yup, there are several limited editions of beers here in Japan actually. Regional limited one, Seaonal limited one. Etc. :-) You have a fantabulous day!
HI Hanuman,
I hear the autumn in New England is very beautiful yet I have never seen one before. When do those leaves turn yellow to red in your area? I am not too skinny actually... There are skinnier guys with the same height... You have a fantabulous day!
Hi Steve,
Oh, I actually have tasted that bok beer before when I lived in Amsterdam. It's very rich and dark and a little smelly. :-) By the way, what's up with heated warm beer they drink in winter???? Anyway, thanks for letting me know that you wouldn't drink american beers :-) You have a fantabulous day!
Hi Ian,
Well, there is an old Japanese saying here. Summer heat or winter cold doesn't last after the equinox. Which means the heat won't end until the 23rd of September. But it's just another one and a half weeks. Then, it will be very autumn for sure unless there is any global house warming effect going on :-) Yup, you wil be very cultured. Tell me what you think after tasting that beer. I hope you will like it. You have a fantabulous day!
11 lbs is a lot to loose and not notice. Where your clothes not feeling loose?
Congrats though!
