So the new prince in the Imperial Family was born yesterday. Regardless of the Japanese Imperial system being so conservative and their luxurious lives being funded by our bloody taxes, many of us are very happy about the news since the succession to the imperial throne is only made to boys. What a nice profession that is....when people ask him a question for what he does, he says "I am the prince".... By the way, I was born in the same hospital in where this new prince was born. It's not that important and I don't act like a prince at all but I thought I'd mention. :-) Anyway, Shinto Shrine is very close to the Emperor's family considering it was believed Emperor's ancestor was Shinto God. Last Sunday, it was the first Sunday of the month. So, as usual, I was summoned by my parents and went to the shrine and church together. This is the photo of the Shinto shrine that we usually go to. When I pray there, I sometimes say "Gee, I so wanna go back home and take a nap" by pretending I religiously pray for something higher.... But mostly, I only thank him/her (I don't know the God's sex..) for letting me live healthy and happily to this date eve if I add some extra every once in a whlie. Like a gorgeous boyfriend... Surprisingly, the local shinto shrine we go to is a very relaxing spot even in the middle of Tokyo, and I feel my dirty soul getting cleansed. (I think it has to be scrubbed vigorously to be pure as I am too filthy.) Anyway, may peace be with you. Happy news from Japan. Happy Thursday!
Congratulations on your new prince. Pray hard and play harder. You might just find your boyfriend in the next bend. Kudos!
Yes, congratulations on the new prince!!
Although from what I've heard, his mother is already being pressured to have another boy!! ( To ensure the line)
P.S. What a beautiful shrine!
Poor Prince. What happens if he's gay?
That's a very nice thing to do! This is how I'm spending my birthday weekend too, in the temple of Babylon in Bangkok.. Shigeki-san, please join me to help me cleanse my filthy soul with all the hot men-priests there! Should I be on my knees? :)
You have a man-tabulous weekend! w
Do you get the day off to celebreate the birth of the new prince?
did u get to drink free sake at the shrine?
i was at the Minji shrine touring when the last baby princess was born
free sake!
We all have sins! I try to pray..sometimes...well rarely...But i love God...You're a Japanese Prince for me:)
Still wanna see you in a yukata!
Did I get the word right?
Surprisingly there is a sign of relief here that there wouldn't be any further debate of whether an empress should reign! How hyporcitical the politicians here can be!! Well - good for Japan then! Anyway, I found this news through a friend of mine in Norway!!! how sad!! The working hours here have taken a toll on me.
As for the Shinto Shrine - it's really beautiful and peaceful. I need to go to one and give thanks - I'm still alive (barely) and kicking after our project went life. If you get a boyfriend soon, let me know where this shrine is, I need to pray harder as well :-)
I was wondering if you were going to comment about the new prince. I feel sorry for the crown prince's wife, who is apparently not well mentally these days, partly because of the pressure to produce a male heir, is that true?
Anyway, though it is all so silly, these powerless monarchs, we remain fascinated with them, as if they really are special somehow. Poor Prince William probably won't be king of England till he is ancient and bald.
Hi Mark,
Yup, truly a happy day but a difficult day for the prince since he is expected to marry a girl and have one son. Otherwise, the imperial family will end unless they change the law.... You have a fatnabulous weekend!
Hi Hanuman1960,
Yay for the new prince. :-) She was already pressured back in 2002 and one of the people around her made an official comment that they did expect a boy from her. I guess the pressure will go onto the new prince as he can never die before having a son... what a tragic overwhelming future he has... You have a fantabulous weekend!
Hi Colin,
Well, I am sure he will be "fixed" to be straight. Let's face it. there are so many homos who marry and have kids because they like it that way. So :-) I think your soul is already filthy enough that cannot be cleansed at all? hehehe. Don't worry. So is mine. :-0 You have a fantabulous weekend!
Hi Cesar,
Nope. not at all. Since the new prince is not the future emperor's meaning the new prince's dad is younger brother, it was another happy day though we do have a day off on the Emperor's birthday. :-) You have a fantabulous weekend!
Hi Nod,
Nope. Not at all. Because I had to work. I don't think I am not loyal enough to skip work to celebrate this but it was a happy day. You have a fantabulous weekend!
Hi Envy,
Well,, I am hardly a prince if you happen to care. I don't act like one and I don't think I have any "fantabulous royal" blood in me. :-( You have a fantabulous weekend!
Hi Paul,
Youkata? well, it's already fall so it's kinda chilly to wear it now. :-) you have a fantabulous weekend!
Hi Ian,
Well, I am sure there will be no more debate but it would be too risky if they only have one prince. I think it's a safe bet if there are two or more. What happens if he got hit by a bus? :-) I am sure that's not gonna happen but all the people around him to take good care of will be so pressured... Wow, you didn't know this news even when you are here?? wow. :-) You are the true workaholic. dont' work so much! You have a fantabulous weekend!
Hi T.Kevin,
Oh, that princess? Yes, she's been mentally not well for a long time actually. But you know what? I don't feel sorry for her because before the marriage, she used to be paparazzi-ed in Oxford and made it clear that "I WILL NOT MARRY HIM!" but she did. She should have expected a lot of conservative thingies coming. Yes, she was pressured because she is supposed to give a birth. So the rumor says people around her treated her badly because she doesn't have a son. She even miscarried one baby before... What a tough life.... I think it was better for her to keep being a foreign diplomat as a Harvard Graduate... I guess. Sad. you have a fantabulous weekend though!
