My Sad non-exciting slides.

Wed, 2 August 2006

FYI, I am not obsessed with the first three slides. There wasn't much to talk about with 8 slides... Yeah, it was a sad night. :-) But I am having a fantabulous time here in Tokyo even if I have to work today, too. Because I can catch up with what I missed on blogs I visit. yay. you have a fantabulous day!

Yay! You're back home!

Now...go get laid. Go on, GO! ;)

I love the fact that domestic/internal airlines in Japan (ANA) use such big planes and fill them regularly. But i guess it has to do with size and number of poeple. Here we use much smaller Airbuses (in fact a LOT of your fave if I remember correctly Shigeki) to move about internally and save the bigger ones for getting out. But then again we have only 27 million people and we're spread out in an area larger than the US, Japan and the UK put together.

I'm glad to see your pics of Osaka, at least 4 of my friends here in Canada are Osaka-jin (one Tokyo-jin guy too). So it's nice to see their home cities. I agree with someone who posted here the other day that you should do an audio blog demonstrating the differences in dialect for us.

welcome home and stop working so hard!!

oh and I agree with Jason. go get laid. now. no more 'instant boyfriend let's just go for drinks and cuddle" sutff. Go find and instant boyfriend who'll shag you until you can't see anymore. ;)

Glad that you're home safe and sound!

Hey! I recognize the building in slide #6! I think it was used in a scene for Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah! (Yes, I am a huge geek!) ;)

Glad to hear you made it back to Tokyo safely :-) Umm, that actress looked familiar. I'm not sure if she was the one in Densha Otoko lol. My friend did it!! He showed me some episodes and I ended up watching the whole series. hehe
Yum, yum I'm getting hungry looking at the picture. G'night!

Japanese and Taiwanese (which is obviously Jap-influenced) convenience-store food are so yummy. I mean you'd think something that comes from a packet won't taste nice or fresh but boy was I wrong.

That ANA plane looks like a 777 to me. It can take 530 passengers?! Are you sure?! I could be wrong but usually those things can't take more than 400 and even then you'd only have once class...

Anyway welcome back to Tokyo baby!

One of my mom's friends who lives in the NYC suburbs (same town as my mom) is from Kansai. She goes to the local Japanese markets geared for the families of Japanese men who work in NYC and live in the suburbs and she cooks all sorts of local Kansai things I've never heard of. It was interesting to eat dinner at their house, since most of the people my family know and I know are from Tokyo, Yokohama, or Kanagawa area.

Anyway, working fom 7AM to 12 midnight is way too long. Take care of youself, neh.

Oops, I meant to say that the food she made was interesting, since I am not familiar with food from that area.....

This has nothing to do with Kansai, and I've only been to Kyushu once, but I LOOOVED the food there...there's one place there where they eat sashimi with garlic and it was delicious!

You are definitely a city boy like me. Still don't get what's wrong with poor Osaka tho - apart from the odd looking fish.

Stalking you again...hello from the Ginza Apple store! I spilled ice coffee on my white sundress so I had to go and buy myself a new skirt at Zara *tee hee hee.* I think I can wear it over the bottom of my sundress and it won't look that stupid. At least I hope not.

Waaaaah. Only 16 days left in Japan. I'm going to miss a lot of things, but thank goodness for your blog. I won't feel so far away looking at your pictures and reading your stories.

Otsukaresama deshita!

Poor Shigeki, you work too hard. At least you get to travel and go on nice vacations! That building is extremely cool, and the Osaka Castle looks beautiful (though I must admit, every time I see a picture of one of those castles, I think of a Godzilla movie where he destroys a beautiful model of one. How sad am I?)

Hope you got some rest, and maybe fun. :-)

I am glad you are finally back at home. Do you have to work this wekend?

Hi JaSoN,

Yay, I am back home. :-) Well, I am too tired to go get laid... Not that I can get laid anytime soon anyway.. :-( You have a fantabulous day!

Hi Mark,

Usually, when you take an early afternoon flight, the flight is kinda empty. But not this time of the year as it's the summer vacation season. I wish I could speak the Osaka dialect but I cannot do that. I once pretended to speak that way and real Osaka friends went "You've gotta stop that fake Osaka dialect". They get pissy when I do that. :-) You have a fantabulous day!

Hi Hanuman1960,

Thank you very much. You do? Wow, I have never watched that movie so I didn't know. So Godzilla went to Osaka apparently... huh.. I hope they visited Tokyo and destroyed Tokyo buildings, too. :-) You have a fantabulous day!

Hi Kris,

Thank you. :-) Yeah, she was in the TV version of Densha Otoko. She is such a pretty actress but the way she talks is sooooo not actress like. :-) I mean she needs to improve her acting skills in my personal opinion. You have a fantabulous day!

Hi Will,

I think I have gotten used to Convenience store food too much so I don't find it great anymore... though some are still okay. :-) Yeah, that was a 777-300 and I just looked it up. It accommodates 524 passengers to be exact. Here is the map It doesn't have many first class seats. I felt comfy in the economy seat just like other planes though. For international configurations, it only accommodates 247 passengers. You have a fantabulous day!

Hi Fashmagslag,

The culture is different as well as the food. But you know what? I think I like Kanto (Eastern Region of Japan) better because that's where I am from and I am so used to it. I appreciate what Kansai has to offer but I don't think I am used to it on a daily basis. :-) Yeah, it's been long since I have to work like this but the most surprising thing of all is that I cannot have a single day off until September!!!! ugh! You have a fantabulous day!

HI Paul,

Am I? :-) Well, I don't deny that. I did verify that I was a city boy when i lived in Kansas. :-) You have a fantabulous day!

Hi GaijinGirl,

I am sure the summer heat is mild here in Tokyo so you should appreciate that. :-) even though it's darn hot, the humidity is nothing compared with the osaka one. :-) I hope you enjoy your new skirt. :-0 You have a fantabulous day!

Hi T. Kevin,

Yeah, I work too hard... but there are some people in my department who work more than I do. They literally do not have any personal life so I should be thankful that I don't have to work like they do. :-) Well, I will go on another biz trip where the castle is more beautiful than that! Stay tuned. :-) You have a fantabulous day!

HI Cesar,

Yay. :-) Yes, it looks like I don't have any day off until September and it's only the first week of August now.... sad. You have a fantabulous day!
