When I was little, I tend to look up at the sky a lot and thought I would definitely get an ability to fly. Unfortunately, that ability has never been achieved so I worked to distribute chicken or beef up there and learned how to paraglide and skydive. I still tend to look up and appreciate the blue sky as it's my favorite color. It's one of those tiny little happy moments for me. The interesting thing is that I actullay have to
look up as there are so many buildings around. I was very surprised that I didn't have to do this when I lived in Kansas as everything there was flat. Anyway, this is the photo of wires and a pole. I live in the middle of Tokyo. I mean it's very center. But cable wires are everywhere like this once you walk along back streets. I find these so premitive. But I hear we cannot bury these wires under the ground because we have earthquakes. I am not sure whether this is true or not. It's the 21st century but this is the part that makes me think Tokyo is so behind the innovations. Anyway, when I look up at the sky, these wires come into my sight obviously. It's like watching this non-interesting person in my sight and never lets me see the hunky hottie behind him/her anyway. I say "move. Fudge off" in my heart. Very distracting. But whenever I look up at the sky, I appreciate how blue it is even though I cables, wires, poles, whateve and the sky should have been bluer than ever if there was no chemical thingy. Unfortunately, it's a typical rainy day in the rainy season so I cannot appreciate the blue. I am so envious of those who live where it's blue all the time. :-) You have a happy blue day!
I agree about the wires. For as technologically advanced as some Japanese products are, there are so many things that are backwards about living conditions. We have plenty of earthquakes in Los Angeles, but I don't think we have as many wires. Maybe it's more that traffic would be a nightmare if they had to dig up the narrow Japanese streets to bury wires.
In any case, the wires make it so very hard to take nice photos of the houses and scenery in Japan, but it's a creative challenge that I like to tackle. I wish I could be outside with my camera instead of at school today!!!!!
Too bad about the poles.
However, it shows that you have an eye for beauty if you can look beyond the ugliness and see that blue sky! :)
That explains why you travel so much....the flying makes up for your childhood and you simply love travelling and taking pictures of the sky while you're up there. The sky represents freedom - it helps one to dream, alleiviate one's issues, helps makes sense... and whenever there is a blue sky out there....it makes people really happy to be alive! I'm with you and love the blue skies! Hence I love the winter in Tokyo - cold yet simply beautiful when the sun is out and the sky is blue but it's still cold on the ground!
Apologies for being sentimental!!!
Does that mean you saw Superman?

HI GaijinGirl,
Did you know another reason why they are up there is because the ground of Japan is not firm?? That's why. Also, I think it's okay that we have so much fiber optic cables. The service cannot be implemented so easily like this if we have to put it in the ground. :-) You have a wonderful day!
Hi Hanuman,
Sometimes, if we don't see poles and cables like that, it wouldn't be Japan at all. I wish there were no cables but then I guess we have to live with them. Though I don't pay much attention to them as they should not get our attention so much. You have a wonderful day!
Hi Ian,
I don't know. I just cannot stay in one place for a long time so I have to move around. :-) though I am forced to travel on biz some time so.... After talking about Sky, skydiving doesn't sound so bad, does it? You should try it definitely. :-) You really can apprecaite how beautiful the sky is from up there. :-) Don't be apologetic. It's all good! You have a wonderful day!
Hi Paul,
No, it's not released until August something here in Tokyo unfortunately. You have a wonderful day!
