What's Marine Day for? Is it some sort of NY's Fleet Week? Ah... the thought of hot navy men and sailors make me moist. Hahaha. Enjoy your stay and your beer!

Funny that we're getting poured on today when it is supposed to be the end of rainy season! I suppose it's a bit too warm to be eating Sapporo's famous ramen. I hope you enjoy the nice dairy products (as well as the beer, of course)!
Well at least I don't feel so left out!! You're working in Sapporo and as for me, I had to work today...as well BUT at least you're away from humid and wet Tokyo.
Marine Day means Day for people to express gratitude for the gifts from seas and to pray for the prosperity of Japan as a maritime nation. In other words, the government made it up because they didn't wanna work on a hot day. :-) It wasn't a holiday when I was little. :-) You have a fantabulous day!
Hi Raph,
That's great you love it! I think Sapporo Beer over there tastes as great as it does here...considering Asahi Super Dry over there was crap... :-) I hope you enjoy your Sapporo Beer anytime soon. :-) You have a fantabulous day!
HI Jason,
Seriously? Wow, you have to take photos and send them to me IMMEDIATELY. :-) Since I've lived in Kansas for two years, I am sorry I have to say Sapporo is a lot better. The airport is in the middle of nowhere. That may be why. :-) Kansas is all flat and brown while there are so many things to offer here. :-) You have a fantabulous day!
Hi GaijinGirl,
I hope you are okay. I heard it was brutally raining over there. It was raining here today, too. :-( However, it's cool and dry. :-) I love it. I had "Oden" later tonight as I worked out too much. But it was great. :-) It made me keep warm. :-) You have a fantabulous day!
Hi Steve,
hahahaha, absolutely. But it has to be a "hands-on" session. You have a fantabulous day!
Hi AJ,
I am sorry if you imagined something really hot and sweaty. :-) It's nothing like that. I already explained in the response to Mark but it means Day for people to express gratitude for the gifts from seas and to pray for the prosperity of Japan as a maritime nation. In other words, the government made it up because they didn't wanna work on a hot day. :-) It wasn't a holiday when I was little. :-) You have a fantabulous day!
Hi Ian,
hahaha. YOu had to work for the whole extended weekend, too? I am so sorry. Are you trying to be Japanese? hehehe. I hope you will enjoy your weekend next time though. Don't work too hard. :-) You have a fantabulous day!
Hi Hanuman1960,
Yet, a lot of them are workaholics. What's up with that? :-) There will be no traditional holiday in August but yeah, we have many actually. :-) Yes, I did enjoy Sapporo beer very much. I love it. :-) You have a fantabulous day!
