My little condition.

Straight dudes do this, too. Right? It's not a gay thingy? But sometimes, straight friends make fun of me being too gay by crossing my legs... what a double standard... Please, click the photo if it's too small or if you are a size queen. You have a WONDERFUL weekend!

my dad, his brothers, and many others of his generation sit just like that. in fact, dad will fall asleep reading the newspaper, tea cup in his hand, legs crossed, "watching" the news. so no, it's not a "gay" thing. i think it's more refined than sitting with one's ankle on a knee. bran does both. it depends on what he's wearing and where he is. if he's wearing sweats or jeans he'll do the ankle on his knee thing. if he's in dress pants, he'll cross his legs like you do.

yah it's all about not smoshing up the weiner. nothing worse than catching your balls between your manly thighs (in Canada we call that "bagging" yourself). and dont' worry about your knees, i know a guy who CLAIMS he destroyed his knees while painting a deck at my house, a condition brought on by years of running. In actual fact he wrecked them by spending 4 hours sucking cock (on his knees at a bath-house). So as long as you didn't do it that way ;)

I've never liked running, but I had to jog home last night after dropping off the rental car. After getting stuck with a Corolla with a broken CD player, I should have played the bitch card and made the guy give me a ride home. I tried to get a discount coupon for a future rental, but no dice.
It sounds geriatric, but I LOVE aquatic aerobics. The water resistance is great for results in less time than land-based exercise, and I don't feel as tired. The trouble is that all the classes here are scheduled when I'm at school >:-/

Hmmm, Shigeki- maybe you should stop all activity on your knees, hehe. Ok, that's lame and I sound like I'm 12, lol
Hope you are ok--gotta go, flight is boarding. bye!

Hmmmm, I wonder who Mark is talking about... The condition is called CSK (cock sucker's knee).
I read a study once which indicated that men (in North America, at least) are more likely to cross their legs by resting an ankle on top of the other leg's knee, while women are more likely to cross their legs the way you've beautifully sketched. (BTW, a sketch SHOWING your weiner nestled beween the nest of our legs would have been appropriate!). The study also said women are more likely to carry packages (e.g. books) held to their breast, while men held in a single hand, arm straight at their side. So, from your sketch I have to conclude (without sight of said weiner providing evidence to the contrary) that the sketch is of a woman's legs :)
Have a fantabulous weekend.

I cross my legs with the ankle resting at the knee as well. So the research must be true!
Switching to swimming from running at least gives you more locker room voyeur time! :P

Shigeki... you know how butch I think you are... except for this. Crossing your legs at the knee is something women and British men do (and we know they all act kind of gay). Is crossing them the other way (knee out, ankle on the opposite knee) too gauche for Japanese men? That's how I do it--just have to be careful when wearing shorts. I also cross them at the ankle, but never the knees overlapping way.
My knees are shot too, and it really was from running when I was in my 20's. Now I do cycling.
You have a fantabulous weekend too!

Straight guys sit like that too. I do the same thing and my friends make comments about how gay I am.
sorry about your knees but I am glad you found another outlet. Enjoy your swimming.

Running, while it is the fastest gait (and non-artificial form of locomotion) we have, it is certainly not a gait that we were designed to move at on a regular basis.
I read somewhere that when walking, the foot receives something like 3x the body mass on the downstroke, and it increases to something like 15x when at a jog, and up to 25x when at a full all-out sprint.
I don't know if the numbers are true, but it does make sense that running punishes the legs much more than walking does.
That being said, swimming looks like a much better choice. :)

Thanks for reminding us about ageing!!1 :-) that will take a toll on our knees eventually. I always believe in a good pair of running shoes and taking good breaks in between runs plus weight training on your off days to strenghten ones knees. Thankfully I'm still running at 34...so that's all good. I just hope my knees will keep on moving - still need to complete one more marathon! :-)
And closeted straight gay guys crosses their legs as well!

I think it's not a gay thing at all. It's either very British, as T. Kevin mentioned, or the way I see rich men portrayed in movies do it whenever they sit. So you are very fab for doing that, no need to worry at all.

Torn a cruciate ligament? What's with the knee? Tell us all!

I see guys sit like you do and don't think anything of it. I don't think it's a gay thing , I think it's a personal thing. I never even thought about the ballgame. This is like a Sex Ed class Shigeki, I love it. Everything you always wanted to know but were afraid to ask. You should give us an exam sometime and no one is allowed to cheat, honor system. Things you have blogged about . :-)
Steve, if a person gets CSK at work, are they covered by workman's compensation?

So, where do you put your 金玉 (testicles/gold and jewlery in kanji) when you do this? :-)
Posted by: Anders at June 24, 2006 01:51 PM
I totally cross my knees when I sit. And if anyone criticises me I always tell them it's because my thighs are slim enough to do it comfortably, unlike other people's.

Hi Naomi,
I think it's gayer to have an ankle on a knee. I don't deny that but I've seen straight people do that so it's not completely a gay thingy. :-) It didn't occur to me it depends on what he is wearing since I only have one way to cross my legs. :-) But good to know. :-) You have a fantabulous week!
Hi Mark,
He was really heavy? I mean how could he have knee conditions by kneeling? Well, it could be possible I guess. So I suggest him to wear those knee protectors while he is at it. :-) That would be kinda "jock" thingy to do. :-) Thank you very much. I don't really do that when I have to give my head to somebody. But I will keep that in mind. You have a fantabulous week!
Hi GaijinGirl,
Really, I like running as it's a way of clearing my head and get energized. It's not quite as the same as swimming unfortunately. Since my knee condition is not really permanent, all I have to do is give it a rest for awhile. Then I can start running. Yay. You have a fantabulous week!
Hi Fashmagslag,
Hahaha. Surprisingly, I don't stand on my knees when I have to do that. :-) Thank you very much for stopping by from not-so-useful airport. I hope your flight was smooth! You have a fantabulous week!
Hi Steve,
It could be someone you know? That's freaky. Hahaha. I guess I am a woman since I cross my legs like that even if my weener is not in the best condition. :-) I think women tend to carry things like that because they are worried about nipples? Like I care. :-) I hope I didn't prove I have small balls or none... Not that they are small. They are very fine. :-P You have a fantabulous week!
Hi Hanuman1960,
Hehehe. I am not a woman technically. :-P Do you cross legs like that when you wear shorts too? huh.. that would be interesting. Make sure you wear something really loose. :-) You have a fantabulous week!
Hi TK,
See, this is a double standard. Straight people do it but then, it's a gay/girly thing to do. :-) I think Japan is a very small country so we do not have enough space to cross them the way you do. :-) Well, don't be careful when wearing shorts. Please make sure we can all peek into them. :-) Cycling sounds fun but I don't have a perfect ass... You have a fantabulous week!
Hi Cesar,
I am glad you voted for Yes. :-) I guess people want to say that to make us feel bad which I don't really feel anything. :-) I hope my knees will heal accordingly. :-) You have a fantabulous week!
Hi Seekeronos,
Yeah, I read about that, too. 3 times. :-) So I guess the pressure on knees must have been enormous when I job on the uphill. I think the numbers look right though I don't have a reference with me right now. Yup, swimming is good but I don't like swimming as you don't know what you run into in the water... I mean if you think carefly, you cannot swim. :-) You have a fantabulous week!
Hi Ian,
No, I didn't ruin my knee because of the aging for your information. I have had a condition when I was skating in highschool days. That's why. A good pair of shoes won't do since I occasionally have this. That's good that you stil run for marathon. I don't wanna do that. it's like a torture for me. 10 Km. is good enough for me. :-) You have a fantabulous week!
HI Mark,
hahaha. Virtually, everybody here does that so I am totally secure for that.. But sometimes, people say it's such a gay thing to do. Huh.. :-) You have a fantabulous week!
Hi Paul,
When it comes to medical terms in English, I get lost easily. :-) But it's just an inflammation between bones. It happens from time to time. Not frequently :-) But running has to be on-hold for awhile. oh well. You have a fantabulous week!
Hi Maggie,
I know it's not a gay thing but sometimes I do think it's a gay thing. :-) That's fortunate that you don't have to worry about balls. Well, sometimes, they get into a weird not-so-comfortable places and how you adjust them requires a certain skill. :-) Hahaha. Sex Ed Class? I've never taken one before but I can imagine how it is. I'd love to become a teacher. Wow, you have to classify if you get some ill or physical condition at work or not? wow. My company's thingy covers everything whether it's work related or not... huh.. You have a fantabulous week!
HI Anders,
Thank you very much for writing in Japanese. I felt so violated. :-) kidding. Well, I don't exactly know where I put them. But they are in the right position. That's all I can say. Come and see where they are located when I sit like that then. :-) You have a fantabulous week!
Hi Will,
I believe Asian guys do cross their legs like that more often than Western people? huh... That's so nice of you to say that when your behavior is pointed out. :-) Very bitchy yet understandable. :-) Though I'd love to have delish thick thighs like soccer players'. :-) You have a fantabulous week!
