I feel so sorry for you! I spent one whole month without ANY internet access last year and it was really really difficult. It made me realise how much I rely on it not only for communicating with friends and family but also for being in control of my finances, reading the news, etc, etc. Keep your chin up :-) GB

Hi, I'm Gaijin Girl and I'm an Internet addict. I guess if you get REALLY desperate, you can go to an Internet cafe!!!!! My mom is still on dial-up in L.A. I get so frustrated when I have to use the computer during visits home. I've even offered to pay for the DSL if she'd just get it installed!!!!!
1 Gigabit internet.... wow. I'm jealous.
We in the US are lucky if our corporate WANs are 1GB connections.
I think the best we do is in the coastal cities with some fiberoptic 6 megabit connections; most of our internet service providers seem unable to offer more than a 1.5 MB connections speed, and we still have quite a few folks still using dial-up.
I am not sure where the bottleneck is, but perhaps it is the matter of traversing the nation with fiberoptic lines for the backbone which is keeping us in the dark ages.
Strip me of anything but my internet connection! Most of my colleagues at work don't dare stare at their monitors again after coming home from work, but that just doesn't work for me. I need to stay connected. I need my blog, your blog, my blog, other people's blogs. :-) I mean come on, where else can you get good reading material other than from the many interesting blogs out there? :-) Great sketch, Shigeki, wish I could do something like that.

At least you were boozed up... I was working till 10:30 pm today! and one our external consultant had his assumptions wrong and I based all my argument on this assumption! What a screw up! That goes my career! :-(

Having the internet down is an emergency situation. Holiday or no holiday they should treat it as a matter of life and death and fix it immediately. Well, maybe that is a slight exageration but I do feel for you. Hopefully you can go to an internet caffee or something.

I just realized your writing is the same as mine. They call it print-writing, which is a cross between cursive and printing, with some unconnected letters and some connected. I always wondered what that meant. Meaning, are my thoughts disconnected? Or am I ? :-)

Yup, 1 Gigabit Internet. But then, three of my computers (I have four. Yes. I am insane) only have 100Mbit Network Interface card so that I don't think 1 Gigabit is truly appreciated much.
