So I am here in Hiroshima. I come here twice or so a year. As many of you probably know, Hiroshima is one of the two cities attacked by an atomic bomb. I wonder if I brought radiation detector, I could observe more radiation than I could in Tokyo? Apparently, I wasn't good at physics in college... When I was little May 2006 Archives

On my lunch break, I thought I'd go to the closest department store to my work which is just about 5 min walk. I ran out of the face cream I regularly use. I needed that. That's all I was going to buy. I successfully passed Hermès store. How strong am I? I got to the men's cosemetic section without getting side-tracked. whew. All I wanted was the face cream I ran out this morning. But this store clerk suggested this and that. Look what happened! Mysteriously, I bought ridiculously expensive soap, oil control solution, age rescue face lotion in addition to the face cream. I think I got hypnotized. This guy shown in the photo was all over the place. Any solution produced by this brand won't give me a chin dimple and hunky appearance like this guy all of the sudden. I know that. I hate him. I so hate him with awesome abs.... I love him.... But while I was at it, I almost believed I'd be this cool if I used as many products as possible. Well, it's not totally redundant. I could keep myself clean with stupidly expensive products. That's fine. This is how much I spent. I am not even going to convert it to U.S. dollars and Euros like I usually do. Do I regret it? not really. But please, someone please tell me this guy in the photo was trying to tuck in his stomach as much as possible and couldn't breathe at all while this photo was taken. I so hate him.... You have a fantabulous Tuesday!

I and a friend of mine went to the good restaurant (not so expensive) in Shinjuku (where I work) for lunch today. There was a lunch set called "Ladies' Lunch". Salad, Rice, Avocado and other Tempura, Veggie Juice, and Tofu Dessert. I know the name says "Ladies' Lunch" but I thought I'd order it as it looked damn good. I ordered that and a friend of mine who is by the way a guy ordered fish. The waiter serving our table went "This is just for ladies. I am sorry but you cannot order that." Oh, Come On! I am a lady inside alright! Sadly, I ordered some fish. Come to think of it, there are so many "ladies' thingies" here in Japan. The train car that can be ridden only by female passangers. Ladies get discount on a certain day called "Ladies's day" for movie theatres. The invitation for the class reunion of the college I graduated in Tokyo came to my place last week. That invitation said "Men. 8000 Yen for dinner. Women. 6000 Yen" Excuse me! there are so many women who can drink more than men can. It assumes men eat/drink more than women. That's not fair though I happen to drink more than they assume. Besides, I could be prettier than some women who happen not to appreciate the fact that they are girls. I got my mani done last week. It's true men get promoted more than women could. There is the gender thing going on here in Japan. After all, Japan can be very conservative and backward in some arenas. But if women would like to be treated equally, please let me order that ladies' lunch.... Ladies' lunch my ass. I hope Japan will be a gender bias free country in the 22nd century. :-) Okie, end of the frastration. You have a fantabulous week!

I don't blog on Saturdays usually and I don't do long stroies, either as I am not good at writing. (English 101 still haunts me) Besides, I don't do something too personal. But I feel like doing it. It's not insulting or anything. My point of this post is that "balance" is truly, extremely, genuinely important in each of our lives. That's it. If you feel like killing your time, please read.Otherwise, don't bother. :-) It's not great but I post it here anyway....So I went on a date last night. It did not go well. It's not because of the guy I saw there. Wait a minute, well, it was the guy actually. This date was set up by a close, I repeat, close friend of mine. We exchanged phone numbers prior to the date. He is a veterinarian, I am a geek. Both professions are not appealing. Thankfully, I was able to get out of work at 4 in the afternoon. We met up at 5 in front of the zoo. Yes, zoo. how 9th grade are we? It wasn't my idea for the record. I wasn't really interested in going but the nosy friend of mine suggested me to go as I'd end up living alone forever. (well, I don't mind that at this moment).
Continue reading I wish I could say NO there..
Okay, if I said this, I would sound like an alcoholic but I will say this anyway. My drinking habit seems to have changed a little bit... I drink lots these days. So I am trying to cut back for my liver. I came back from the drinking night and I am very sober.... darn. The reason why I am very sober was I had a date. It was so not interesting. The good thing is that I was able to go through that lousy date session without too much alcohol. (3 glasses of whiskey.) The lousy date could have easily made me drink lots. How strong am I. :-) Okie, if it's too small to read, please click the photo as always.Have a fantabulous weekend!

Yes, it's the pay day today. :-) Nothing fancy but since I got some extra, I thought I'd abuse my wallet a little bit. I bought this geeky stuff. An electronic dictionary. If you click the photo, the whole thing will appear. This dictionary is great becasue it's got English-Japanese, Japanese-English, English-English, Thesaurus, English-French, French-English, French-French, and other dictionaries. 17 dictionaries on this small thing. This dictionary's got the voice. It speaks expressions indicated on the display. Electronic dictionaries are essential for people who work for a foreign company. I saw a lot of colleagues with this thing. Why? I am not sure but it's safe to say we, Japanese, have this reputation that we are not good at foreign languages. I am sure there are many who are good at speaking them. But it's no surprise we suck at speaking foreign languages including English. There are reasons for it. I am not a linguist so I will keep it short. 1. an island country. 2. Japanese language is nowhere close to other languages (well, Korean might be close but), 3. English learning system here is not the greatest compared to northern European countries'. I am no exception. I too had struggled from learning English for a long time. I think confidence is another issue, too. Since we are afraid of making mistakes, we can never be good. However, this electronic dictionary gives us confidence. We can feel ease with this. If we went to another country without the electronic dictionary, we'd be uncomfy. Okay, that's exagerrating a little bit but you know what I mean. Of course, the first thing I did is to look up dirty words like every high school kid would do, and made it speak. :-) I love when this French guy in my dictionary says "What the fuc* is he doing here?" in French. Speak dirty to me... okie, I am having fun with this. Only if there was a real French person to speak things to me closely. :-) Until then, this is a good substitute. YOu have a fantastic day/night!

I watched Eurovision Song Contest last night.... Let's just say my favorite of the show was Sakis Rouvas and one of the back dancers for Turkey.... Anyway, how are you? I hope you all are doing fantabulous. It's gray and sticky here in Tokyo. The temperature is not really high but humid. I actually like this gloomy weather. Sticky weather is kinda sexy. :-) The rainy season is about to begin here.1.....Yesterday, I went to lunch with this guy and other colleagues. All he talked about was himself. He talked and talked even though others tried to change the topic. Other colleagues wanted to shut him up just like I did. I accidentaly poured a quarter bottle of soysauce all over his plate. Really, it was an accident!!!! If he was hot, there might not have been an accident. I know I am evil. I am a homo so I will go to hell anyway. :-)
2....There is another starbacks on my way from the gym to work. There is this super skinny idol looking Barista. He is cute though not my type. He always wears a very thin white shirt. If I really really look, I can see his nipples though it. I am sure he knows that, no? Even though he was not my type, I fell in love with him for 5 seconds. Oh, his sexy thin white shirt and his nipples did make me realize summer is around the corner. :-)
3....I was planning to go to Ibiza, Spain this summer. But the major project is expected around that time... A friend of mine asked me when to book the airplane ticket. It's unlikely I could take a two week vacation even if I planned. Therefore, I told him that I didn't have a pretty pair of speedos to wear. I heard it and it's the lamest excuse but showing how much devoting I am to work doesn't help.... Sob. Have a fantabulous Wednesday!

On Saturday, I arrived at the aiport and went home straight. California Trip was not pleasant. I was going to sleep but a homo friend called and wanted to meet me in the homo district. (called ni-chome). We went to this bar where he frequently goes. You see, the gay bars in Tokyo are different from what you see outside of Japan. Of course, there is this rice queen bar which is similar to the one outside of Japan.... Anyway, in this bar, there is the master (called "ma-ma" ... meaning Mother) and some staff. We basically talk a lot with them and other patrons and drink lots. Karaoke is there, too. But today's post is not about how different gay bars in Tokyo are. My point is...According to "Ma-ma", and other patrons, I look very innocent and pure even though I am dirty inside... Well, I can assure I am not as dirty as they are:-) I was asked to sing a song there. So I sang my favorite J-Pop piece. "Catch the Wave" by Def Tech. The unit of a Hawaiian Guy, and a Japanese guy. The Hawaiian Guy, Shen, is very pretty and fluent in Japanese by the way. For those who don't speak Japanese, their songs are easy to relate to as many lyrics are English. Anyway, when I was singing, I started to cry for no reason. It could have been crazy jet lag and alcohol. It was actually how moving the lyrics were. Of course, bar staff told me I cried on purpose to look innocent. hahaha. But this song, Catch the Wave, haunted me until I got to my place. You see how pure I am inside after all? It was 8 o'clock in the morning when I got back home on Sunday. (I shouldn't have drunk all night and I went to another bar last night.... darn...) Anyway, this song made me realize. Yes!, I've gotta catch the wave just like they sing. You have a fantastic week!

Hello from California! I could not blog yesterday because I had a plane to catch. Because of the emergency work, I arrived this morning but I am going back home tomorrow. Just one night in California. That's insane. They think I could be their help. huh... What's more ridiculous is that if I go across the bay, there is the gay mecca! But I don't think I have time to get there. Instead, I am stuck here in Sillicon Valley. I don't have to sound snobby but... I come from a big city, and did not enjoy the life in Kansas for two years. Ergo, I start to feel anxious when I smell cattle. hahaha, that's exaggerating a little bit. But you get the idea. I don't really enjoy being in the middle of nowhere like this. It takes 10 freaking minute drive to get to the closest Starbucks from the office. On my way back from Starbucks, I pulled over, again, in the middle of nowhere and took the photo of this. Well, I didn't pull over there to take this photo. I did it because I had to pee... I would have wet my pants if I was looking for a gas station. You know what's great? Peeing in the middle of nowhere while no one is watching. Peeing in the middle of some huge field. Wow, I felt free and alive. :-) Is this how the prison breaker feels right after getting out of the big house? Come to think of it, I shouldn't be sad about this small town as I get to appreciate oddly exciting insecure feelings I cannot experience back in Tokyo. And, to clarify, NO!, I did not wash my hands because there was no water! So I apologize in advance then. Sorry, the next driver who is going to drive the car I am renting :-P Anyway, I know it's Friday in Tokyo so I should say you have a fantabulous weekend!
Jasmine flowers I got from a friend are in full bloom at my terrace. They look pretty but you know the worst part? Their aroma is very strong and if I keep smelling it for a minute, I am sure I get a headache. I am looking forward these flowers die anytime soon. I am evil....but today's lesson. Never give Jasmine Flowers to a friend. They are not a great gift. On a different note, I had my audio blog template on the ruined VAIO. I had to re-create this... For some reason, the audio settings aren't right. So the quality is very poor. It's like I am broadcasting from the Moon or something. Besides, I had my second wisdom tooth extracted an hour ago. That could be another reason why I sound worse. Anyway, no extra physical activities as I'd bleed to death. (This is the drama queen part of me). Okay, back to work. You have a fantabulous Wednesday! Ta-ta-.

I didn't mean to make this scary but it turned out really creepy. A cursed crab or something. Anyway, here it goes. 1...Of course, we use a fork and knife when we eat pasta at any Italian place. However, when we go to non-Italian place and eat pasta, sometimes, we use chopsticks like this. I know Italians will go "OH NO!"... We had this scary looking but yummy blue crab spaghetti at Japanese drinking place last night. It was totally good.
2...I went to get my hair cut today on my lunch break. It occurred to me when I had my hair cut while I was living in the States, I had to raise the tip and had to ask the stylist to wash my hair after. They never wash hair after cutting it? I don't have to give any tip here and they wash my hair alright after. I've been keeping my hair long enough to poke my eyes for three years but I really made it short this time. It's now THICK and short even though I prefer THICK and long for something else :-) I am really envious of those who have thin hair...
3...YOu know I don't have the official statistics but it's safe to say guys here don't really trim their pubic hair at all. I think it's cool. But since I swim, I do trim mine. I mean black thick hair coming out of my speedos is not realy pretty. Though I am not obsessed with trimming so I try to make it look as natural as possible. But I do trim....
You have a fantabulous Tuesday/Wednesday!
Hello, how are you all doing? How was your mother's day? I bought my mother's wish and gave it to her. I can't believe how expensive this pot is!!! But she is happy so I am happy, too. I came back from Hong Kong yesterday's morning and didn't have any weekend. I was mostly stuck in the office. Sad... I was able to go to the office from the airport with my crappy Cantonese though. The driver seemed to understand me so that's something. :-) Please click the thing if it's too small to read as usual. Anyway, it's a new week. I hope you have a fantabulous week!

This is the only thing I could blog at the moment right now. Please push the power button for Shigeki-Vision. :-) I haven't been able to blog much after I came back from Europe. That's because on the next day I came back home, I was sent here to Hong Kong for emergency work. Working on the non-friendly equipment in the office for long hours make me sad especially when there are hotties outside. It's very wet and humid here. But why do I care as I am here in the ridiculously air-conditioned office huh... Hopefully, I will be able to go back home tomorrow. And, probably, I am going to blog as usual next week. In the meantime, you have a fantabulous weekend!
I came here to work straight from the airport. So I left CDG in the Monday morning and took an 11 and a half hour flight from Paris. Arrived at Tokyo in Tuesday Morning in local time. Came here to Work. Working. Working Working. It's been a long day indeedy but I am still happy. I am glad to report my credit cards were not used by that theft. I am gonna have to replace my driver's license. You know what I'd do with that theft stuff next time? I will definitely fix the theft's wagon in a creative way without any violence next time when I am in Amsterdam. I am sure I will go there one more time by the end of this year. Stay Tuned. Anyway, I am getting sleepy so I am going to get my work done for the day and head home. :-) You have a fantabulous Tuesday!
I say my French speaking sucks because it does. Whenever I come here to Paris, I always get motivated to study French more but I forget when I return and tell myself that it's not really necessary. I guess I am going to do something about it even though I don't have any plan to live in France. Anyway, each trip I make gives me some clue for what I should do and stuff. :-) I am very thankful for that I can get to learn new things. In three hours, I am off to the airport. It's been pretty good. The weather forecast said it would be raining but it was really fine yesterday. You have a fantabulous Monday!!
Because of the thing, I may not be able to blog from Paris tomorrow. But I will see how it goes with that. Anyway, I am getting ready and packed everything. Going back to Paris later this afternoon. But I have to take care of things before I do. Ugh, I am so stupid. You can all laugh at me. I know I am. :-) You have a fantabulous safe week!
I didn't call my ex to let him know I am here because I didn't want to give him any wrong idea as he appeared without notice at my door the other day. Unfotunately, somone coincidentally told him I was here. Thanks, Mom! I owe you biiiiiiiig! It's another opening a can of worms story so I am going to skip that part. Regardless of that, I am having a relaxing time. I don't normally blog on Sundays but I guess I will. If you happen to care and see the "non-exciting scribble" blog, please stop by. :-) You have a fantabulous weekend!

Salut! It's hot!!! no, I am not trying to be Paris Hilton or anything. It's literally hot here in Paris. I went to the hotel and met up with a friend of mine who lives in Paris. I need to have a friend to be here because my French sucks more than I thought it would. I thought I took some French courses in college.... damn. Anyway, I went to the hotel room directly from the airport and left my camera so this is the only photo I can upload right now.... I promise I will take more photos. It was 24 degrees celsius, 75 Fahrenehit yesterday. It will be this warm today, too. Why? Tokyo was colder yesterday... that's surprising. Thankfully, I am gay, and plan to go to gay bars. So I have short sleeveless shirts even if it's winter. Thank God. It would have been too hot if I only brought long sleeved shirts. :-) This airport, Charles De Gaulle, terminal is very beautiful. I don't disagree. But it doesn't mean it's convenient and functional in my personal opinion. I hate this airport actually. Too many people in smaller areas. I could've gone up to Amsterdam directly but it was Rememberance day yesterday (National Holiday) in the Netherlands and it means too many people hanging out outside. So I decided not to go up there directly. Because this weekened trip is limited, I am leaving Paris today and going up to Amsterdam for
I am doing something very primitive right now... I am so sad. It's the first day of the holiday and all I did was getting boozed, getting frustrated with this, and got boozed again. I think I am ready to go to bed even though it's not 11p.m. yet. I am so sad. :-( On the other hand, you should enjoy your hump day! Good night! Please click the photo if you can't read it well as usual. :-)

I had to go to my parents' to house-sit this morning as they are out of town. My sister lives there but she is too lazy to do anything. I had to take care of another bitch as well. I stole some food out of their fridge for breakfast. But that's allowed, right? I have no idea why I didn't post the photo of Kabuto (I don't know how I should translate it. Samurai Helmet?) last year. May 5th is Children's Day in Japan. This is the day for boys. I think I already mentioned about the day for girls. (March 3rd). We sometimes say as a joke that April 4th is for homos/drag queens as it's in between the day for girls and the day for boys. The family with a son/sons displays this thing in the first week of May to hope their boy(s) will grow up strong and cool. Anyway, since my parents have a son, who I think is me, they display this thing just like the rest of Japanese. I assume they totally wished that I'd grow up and become more masculine. Instead, I have become a big homo. Lucky them. :-) Because my parents think doing a seasonal tradition is always the top priority (more like my dad), I had to go my parents' this morning and got this out of the storage to display it. FYI, I don't dress like a Samurai on a daily basis if you happen to wonder. Some classmates in college in Kansas seriously asked me whether I had the sword carrying around when I was in Japan. I was very speachless to see how educated they were... Of course, I told them "yes". Dumb-asses... Anyway, I feel a little masculine now and you have a happy Tuesday!

First of all, thank you all very much for your kind comments. I still feel funny but I think I am back on track. It's been awhile since I changed the template last time. I actually liked that depressing dark blue. However, it's Spring. So here it is. I hope your eyes don't hurt with this brigher blue.... I always wonder if there is any factor that people with light colored eyes have more light sensitivity. I mean I see those people with light colored eyes more often wear sun glasses outside. And I once heard a friend of mine saying "ouch!" when we got out of the building when it was really bright outside...he is blue eyed. huh... mysterious. Anyway, it's always nice to secure your eyes with UV protection for various reasons. So I have this UV protection eye drops in my
