Traveling again. :-)

The reason why I am here in the United States this time on my vacation is that I got a job last month. To understand the job I got better, I wanted to talk to the management directly in person. So I am here. I'd say this is my second home city if I may. :-) I am not sure if I want to take this job because this is not Tokyo. hmmm... I don't think I can decide right now and it's too much on Friday. It's the weekend (well, it's Saturday over there in Japan...but...) You guys have a fantabulous weekend!

So looking for a new life eh? Congratulations.... hope that you will make the right decision! It does not matter whether it's Tokyo or Seattle, you would have gain much experience anyway....

wow, do go do go. then we can visit you in seatle. ;)

Wow! Well done Shigeki! Even though it's difficult to choose, it's always great to have options! But if you win the lottery you won't have to make any difficult decisions! Good luck! GB

shigeki- my experience with seattle has always been very good. I really like visiting there. It's one of the few cities on the west coast in which I could see myself living. Oh, and BTW, as I a kid I always really liked the smell of gasoline. Now that I get it on my hands once a week when I fill up the car, I don't think I like it anymore. You have a wonderfull weekend. -gregg

The gasoline smell was always a doozie for me: but even if I wash my hands many, many times after I fuel up my car, my hands will still smell of gas, and my skin gets all dried out. So, I'd rather have someone pump the gas for me :P

As for those anime convention guys, I think that perhaps they are the US equivalent to "aki-bake" in Tokyo? (I think that is a short-word for Akihabara-bake, or "insane guy from Akihabara")?

Wow, Shigeki's unforgiving skills and genius takes him places for jobs. I hope you'd come to a right, wise decision. If you move to Seattle, I would definitely miss your Tokyo entries. Yours are the closest I'd get to sate my Tokyo fixations and frustrations. Have a great few days left in the US, and a clear mind to think things through.

If you do decide to take the Seattle gig, can we go to a Mariners' home game together? Yeah, Ichiro is a stuck up guy, but can you blame him?! He's HOT and he is an awesome player!!!!!!!!

I'm gonna do my best to get that Tokyo promotion. I'd love to have some Starbucks with you (so I can see what that hottie barista looks like for myself)! Have a safe flight back to Japan!

I'm always so envious of people like yourself, who have no issues about just picking up and moving half way around the world if you so choose!

I could never be like that! *Sigh* Maybe in my next life... ;)

Seattle is nice, beautiful, but so very small. I hate how clean it is. Cities should be busy and dirty. Actually, most people I've ever met from either Seattle or Portland have thought I'm way too stressed out and that my sense of humor is mean. Damn west coasters ^_^

Just get a job in NY, that's my advice ;)

Nice. Good luck on making your job decision.

Good God. Just how many places are you going in the States?

Paul

Hi Ian,

Well, not exactly. I am done with the current work so I just wanted to look for what I could do at a new place. I didn't really look for a job position outside of Tokyo but I just wanted to see if I could get this one in Seattle. :-) But I love Tokyo so much. :-) It kinda does matter to me.... You have a great week!

Hi Ca va pas la tete,

Seattle is a beautiful city but I've already lived there. I think I'd love to experience something more exciting than that. :-) You have a great weeek!

Hi GayBoyDiary,

Thanks very much. I think I have thought this through on my way back from Portland today. I know I will have to wait for the results, don't I? :-) If I do win, I will probably become one of those rich sugar dadies. :-) You have a great week!

Hi Gregg,

I am glad to hear that your experience with Seattle has been great. :-) I hope you are not a west coaster hater. :-) hahaha, that smell of the gas excites me but I don't do anything abusing with that even though it's pretty much tempting to sniff it. :-) You have a great week!

Hi Seekeronos,

After reading your comment and Greggs, I realize how do you fill up gas?? I mean when I do that, I don't have any gasoline smell on myself. hmmm... I am doing it wrong? I should get gasoline smell on me? hmmm... Seeker, you got it right. Akiba-kei. :-) It was really really interesting in that building. :-) You have a great week!

Hi GaijinGirl,

Well, after 10 hours of the flight, my heart is pretty much set that I wouldn't take that offer as I have lived in Seattle before and it's not as big as I would like it to be. Besides, I DETEST Ichiro. I am sorry. I can't stand that guy even though I like baseball. Well, there is a better cafe here in Tokyo. :-) But verification is nice. If you say "no", what should I do? YOu have a great week!

HI Hanuman,

Well, you never know. I might have lived in one place for my all previous life just like J.S. Bach. You see, it sounds amazing to go from one place to another quickly but it's not nice as I have to cover a lot of travel expenses. I am addicted to it, actually. Though I am not in a trouble. :-) I am sure you will explore the world in your next life. :-0 You have a great week!

Hi FashMagSlag,

I can totally understand Seattle is small. Well, not as small as Portland. You see, it's surprising though. Seattle has got 40,000 more people than Portland but I feel Seattle is much bigger. Since I spent some of my time on the West Coast, I thought I like the west coast better. But that friendliness sometimes bugged me during this trip. If I were not on vacation, I would have been pissed at one point... Isn't living NYC expensive??? You have a great week!

Hi Steve,

Thanks very much. I think I am almost determined that I wouldn't get it. :-) But I am so determined because of the various analysises I did with friends in Seattle. :-) I am prettty much comfy with the decision. You have a great week!

HI Paul,

For this 1 and a half week vacation, I only went to 4 cities. Honolulu, Las Vegas, Portland, and Seattle. See, it's not that many. :-) You have a great week!

Hi Shigeki, good luck in deciding what to do about the job! I know you've "only" been to 4 places on your holiday, but in a week-and-a-half, that's quite a lot, considering how far apart they are!! Very impressive.

Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass' favor.

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like 'Mixview' that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you're listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of "neighbors" will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune "Social" is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

I'm so happy to read this. This is the kind of manual that needs to be given and not the random misinformation that's at the other blogs. Appreciate your sharing this greatest doc.

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod's. It works well, but isn't as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that's not an issue, but if you're planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod's larger screen and better browser may be important.

Hands down, Apple's app store wins by a mile. It's a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I'm not sure I'd want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

Sorry for the huge review, but I'm really loving the new Zune, and hope this, as well as the excellent reviews some other people have written, will help you decide if it's the right choice for you.

I have recently started a blog, the information you provide on this website has helped me greatly. Thanks for all of your time & work.

Wow! This can be one particular of the most useful blogs We've ever arrive across on this subject. Actually Wonderful. I'm also a specialist in this topic therefore I can understand your effort.

Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It's very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.

I would like to thnkx for the efforts you have put in writing this blog. I'm hoping the same high-grade blog post from you in the upcoming also. Actually your creative writing abilities has inspired me to get my own blog now. Really the blogging is spreading its wings fast. Your write up is a great example of it.

Between me and my husband we've owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I've settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.

Nice read, I just passed this onto a colleague who was doing a little research on that. And he actually bought me lunch as I found it for him smile Thus let me rephrase that: Thanks for lunch!

Great write-up, Iˇ¦m normal visitor of oneˇ¦s blog, maintain up the excellent operate, and It's going to be a regular visitor for a long time.

I was just searching for this information for some time. After six hours of continuous Googleing, at last I got it in your website. I wonder what is the lack of Google strategy that don't rank this type of informative sites in top of the list. Normally the top web sites are full of garbage.
