I was going to do the voice blog as I usually do once a month but realized my voice recorder's software was installed on the ruined VAIO...oh well... It was unusually warm today. 16 degrees celsius 60 degsF this afternoon. Even though it's going to be colder in Tokyo this week, I can feel spring is around the corner. Spring flowers are about to bloom. The sunlight is brighter. It's getting warmer. Yay. Spring is a happy time because I feel the tropical flower blooming in my head. I don't know why but I automatically , SUBTLY though, smile for no apparent reason in spring. I am sure I am a freak.... This photo isn't pretty but it was the only photo I took in the locker room... For the very first time this year, I wore a tank top at the gym. I am sure nobody looked at me but I thought i was too revealing as I used to wear a long sleeved t-shirt for workout until yesterday. It was like getting pulled up onto the stage of Cirque Du Soleil In Las Vegas all of the sudden in front of the audience (Which happened to me once....). I was uncomfy because I was used to covering up in winter. But somehow, I was oddly excited about too reavealing part at the same time. This weird feeling is also a proof it's Spring as clothes are getting lighter. :-) Okay, I don't know if there is any point to make on this entry, but the early spring is always a weird time for me. Happy Spring! .... almost. :-) (If you happen to be in the Southern Hemisphere, happy Autumn!)

nice shoulders, shigeki!
it's funny how you keep on talking about the coming of spring. here in canada, 16ºC weather is considered to be typical spring weather. people would be running around in shorts and t-shirts at that point. you might even get sunbathers if it's a particularly sunny day.
right now, we're in the deep freeze, with temperature lows in montréal going down to about -18ºC and in toronto going down to about -15ºC within the next two weeks. and the thing is, these temperatures are still kind of warm because those numbers used to be the temperature highs. we're having a pretty mild winter.....
Don't worry Shigeki, you're not a freak! I have started smiling more recently as they days are getting longer here too. The weather is still depressing in England but at least now we have the odd day of sunshine! :-D
P.S. Nice shoulders! ;-)
While Spring may be official for us on March 21, we're probably not looking at truly warm weather until the beginning of April. But I'm getting anxious for that warm weather, too!
I unfortunately prefer the cold! Call me freak or crazy but I just love winter and the snow!!
But from a runners perspective, I agree spring would be a lovely weather to run in and obviously one will sweat more! But then again, I'm not looking foward to summer! It's going to be hot and wet.....which I hate so much! Need to fly down to the southern hemisphere to recapture winter :-)
Nice shoulders by the way :-)
Reminds me of my first "spring" in Ithaca. After the eternal winter, the weather finally hit 40F (8 C?) and everyone was walking around in shorts and tank tops!!!!! I remember my friends sunbathing. In 40F weather?! But we'd all gotten acclimatized to 0-10F weather, so 40 seemed like heaven!
Then again, there was the spring of my senior year. I'd been hoping to go to Washington DC to see the cherry blossoms for spring break, but we had a heat wave (it hit the 70s around St. Patrick's Day) and the blossoms bloomed in late February or early March. Oh, well. I've seen lots of lovely sakura since I've been here in Japan. I really look forward to hanami (flower viewing parties) this spring!
More more more... take it all off! Oh, sorry, did I type that outloud?
Yes, nice shoulders and great throat.
Nothing better than that subtle change we begin to feel as the days grow longer out of winter. It's been a very warm winter in Canada this year -- relatively speaking -- but even so a warm day earlier this week just felt different, smelled different and it was about a hint of Spring arriving soon!
Damn, gotta work harder at the gym -- skimpy clothing season is soon upon us. Thannks for the warning Shigeki...
Warmer weather also puts me in a better mood. It has been terribly cold here the last couple of days, I can't imagine living in a cold climate, I tend to "hybernate" in the winter and only go out if totally necessary so you can forget about seing me at the bars, clubs, etc during this time of the year. I can't wait for spring.
Nice sholders! When do we get to see the rest of you?
Nice shoulders. Next time aim the camera lower.
Paul
Not to parrot everyone else, but ... nice shoulders!
All that work in the gym is having a good result. :)
And you're almost as white as I am. :P
Weather is an odd thing in New York; winter and summer are distinctively cold or hot, but spring is not such a gradual transition. We can get snow as late as April, and 20-23'C weather as early as February. And there is no particular pattern to it, either.
But this year has been very mild for us... which makes me happy as I do not have to pay as much for heating fuel. :)
Are you tired of hearing it, yet? But damn, those shoulders (or do they call those delt(oid)s?) are NICE. And your skin, so milky and smooth I could practically lick it all the way behind your ears, which we ought to see next. Whooops, getting carried away, sorry!
We don't have the four seasons around here, but temperature has definitely taken a dip recently, slept with a tank top last night and I woke up this morning coughing my throat and lungs off. Hope you'll have a great springtime, Shigeki! Like Paul, pan the camera lower the next time, or better yet, pan it upwards will ya? ^_^
just a shot of the shoulders? dammit I'm curious! :p anyway, we're getting more daylight everyday. yippee!!
Nice pic, Shigeki! I have to say I was reminded of a line from one of my favorite movies, Another Country Where Guy Bennett (Rupert Everett) says about James Harcourt (Cary Elwes):
"There's a little hollow at the base of his throat that makes me want to pour honey all over him and lick it off." Teehee.
TK.
Shigeki-san, Very very enticing.....
shigeki- I am sure all the men noticed ;-) I was really excited last week. Even after our big snow storm, the Crocuses will still continuing to poke their heads through the ground. Spring is just around the corner ;-)
Hi Raph,
Thanks very much. They could be better though. Really? 16 Degrees Celsius is considered to be spring? T-shirts? really? Wow, I'd be dead :-) It's so scary even if I imagine the weather over there. That's freaking cold! Montreal is not in the north pole by any chance? I hope you are doing pretty great. keep yourself warm until the warm (for me, it would be chilly) spring! Good day!
Hi Gayboy,
Thanks very much. I am glad I am not the only freak :-) But you get the idea since you do the same. :-) Although spring isn't my favorite season, I still enjoy it every single minute of it. :-) I am sorry that the weather is not really pretty over there right now but I am certain there are better days. :-) You have a great day!
Hi Mr. Brian,
Oh dear, I heard about the snow storm awhile back. But it's always nice that everything ends. :-) I hope it won't make you feel it is the forever winter. I am sure it has to end. :-) You have a hopeful day!
Hi Ian,
I can understand that. I like winter coldness, too. But not Montreal cold like Raph's city. :-) It's pretty chilly still to run in the morning. I haven't been able to wear a t-shirt for a morning usual run... I don't like Tokyo's brutal summer, either. It's killing people dying hot! I mean how on earth would it be possible? You have a wonderful evening!
Hi GaijinGirl,
I am pretty sure Ithaca is pretty brutal in winter. But I don't think I'd ever be able to walk around outside in shorts and a tank top. Nope. I am not american. :-) But then, their heating system is pretty hotter. That may be why? I am glad I went to college in a city with mild climate. :-) This year will be pretty great! I hope pink cherry blossoms will bloom when you attend the graduation. So it will be very pretty. Go with boots. :-) Have a great evening!
Hi Steve,
hahaha. Well, I actually took two photos yesterday in the locker room. One with a tank top on and one without. But I figured it would be too revealing and will not suit my blog theme. I cannot be narcissistic....Thanks for the compliment though. It's been a warm winter? huh.... There is a colder winter in Montreal and Toronto is warmer? But it's nice to feel the spring already. :-) Oh yay. Yup, it's great to work harder at the gym always. You have a great hard working day!
Hi Cesar,
Oh yes, I can understand that. And warmer weather helps guys half naked a lot. :-) I am sorry it's been cold there. I hope it will get warmer pretty soon. And don't work too hard though. You might be able to feel the warm weather when you slept more? When? um... I don't look fabulous today. Too much dark circles... huh... You have a great morning!
Hi Paul,
Thanks very much. but they could be better. How low are you talking about??? You have a pleasant evening!
Hi Seekeronos,
hahaha. Thanks very much. Well, it's still winter and I have some layer of fat still so I will have to get rid of that in order to make them nicer. But I am not obsessed with them. Well , my eyes are light brown and my skin is light so nope. I am not a typical asian that rice queens are dreaming of... I am glad it's been mild this year. :-) I hope there will be pretty days more there in NYC. you have a fantabulous day!
Hi Mark,
Yay. thanks for your compliment. Well, my skin is not as great as it was in my 20s :-( But I am not going to have any freakish skin therapy soon... I think I should have slept with you so that you didn't have to cough!!! It's too cold to sleep in a tank top and shorts yet here in Tokyo but I am sure there will be days like that. :-) I don't have abs yet so when I do, I shall. ;-) maybe.... maybe not. :-) Good evening!
Hi Tiptup,
Well, I could show you arms and arm pit but I didn't have to make the photo less prettier than it already was, did I? That's good that you are getting more daylight. It's very appreciated by anyone for sure. :-) You have a fantastic day!
Hi TK,
Thanks very much. I have never watched the movie. Honey is too sticky, I think. Isn't it? I'd rather have something not too sticky on me. Not that I am going to do that with anyone else soon.... huh... I've never eaten whipped cream off like one of sexual activities people do.... I wonder if it's really enjoyable... You have a great morning!
Hi Ca va pas la tete,
Thanks, honey. But they should be better in summer.
Hi Gregg,
hahaha. That's great. I heard from a bostonian that I know that the autumn there was the beautiful autumn he'd ever seen but I wonder if it was fantabulously beautiful over ther in Boston. But it's all good that you get to enjoy spring anyway. :-) Little more! Then, welcome to spring! You have a great pre-spring day!
16ºC is plenty warm, especially if you're coming out of a winter that had -25ºC highs on average...that's before the windchill; with windchill, you'd get around -40ºC.
but, since we're having a VERY mild winter right now, we can deal with -18ºC lows.
:D
