Incident

Thu, 23 February 2006

Did you know that if you cannot keep your either of eye open for 10 seconds without blinking, you might be suffering from dry eye syndrome? Staring at porn a computer display for a long time could be one of the causes. Since my job is to deal with computers a.k.a. very evil devices but fantabulous, I thought I might have that when my eyes really hurt earlier this afternoon. It was painful even.
When I got out of my office for lunch, my supervisor thought I looked like the person who just cried a lot after watching a romantic movie. I went to a drug store to pick up eye drops exclusively for dry eye syndrome. But that didn't help me. That's weird. So I went to see an ophthalmologist after cancelling the important meeting I set up. My eyes are more important than mobile access solution for sales representatives.... What if I go blind???? This doctor told me with a sigh or two..... "You need to get your hair cut. Some of your hair is poking your eye balls.... I hope he didn't write that down on my carte.... I've been letting my hair grow longer than usual.... I didn't know I was such a drama queen. I hope I am not... I am not gonna shave it off. You see I want to enjoy my hair while I have it. Who knows. I might loose it when I am 40. :-) Please take good care of your eyes. Have a fantabulous Thursday!
P.S. oh, today is one year anniversary after I got out of the longest relationship. I should have bought a cake or something....

I think you should absolutely keep your hair just as long as you want it! To heck with dry eyes :)

First the shoulders, then the hair and eyes..... hmmmm....giving us more clues eh? ^_^ So when is the day you reveal yourself? hahahah .... and oops... staring at porn...No wonder you have dry eyes :-)

Bald head - that can be sexy too! :-) Sorry to hear about your singlehood but then again, sounds like you;'re enjoying yourself and life in general. Keep up the good nature....you keep us laughing all the time. Thanks!

You broke up with your boyfriend on my birthday a year ago? Was that a good day or a bad day? Last year's birthday was definitely more exciting than this year's (I got showered with roses and various gifts, like that Black Cat sparkling wine), but low key is more in line with my mood these days. It was a good day today. As Billy Crystal's character on Saturday Night Live used to say, "Dahling, it is better to look good than to feel good." Screw the doctor (if he's good looking)...let your hair grow, baby! ;)

I agree. Enjoy your hair while you have it...just keep it out of your eyes and you will be fine.
Are you doing anything fun to celebrate the fact that you are single?

What did the opthalmologist say? They only gave artificial tears?

LOL!

why don't you start using hair gel and styling your hair back? or maybe wear safety goggles if you don't want to use hair gel? (^__^)V

If you throw your legs in the air, and your head back and clench your eyes shut your hair will fall away and no longer be a threat to your eyes...

Maybe its not your own hair getting in your eyes -- have your dates trim their pubic hair!

As a fellow computer guy with chronic dry eyes, I know the feeling. But I keep my hair relatively short.

As for the eye drops, see if you can get them without preservatives. That seems to be working better for me.

Oh, one more thing: Cute eye!

All you needed was a haircut?!? For real?!??!

*laughing*

Oh, you're too funny, honey. A haircut! LOL!

Can I suggest a hairband instead of cutting off your hair?

Hi Larry,

I think I am going to style my hair differently. :-) Have a good weekend!

Hi Ian,

hahaha. Well, when it's time, it will be seen here. I don't think i am sorry for me being single. I enjoy it actually. I find myself not a marrying kind. My friends tell me so, too. I will worry about being alone all the time later. :-) I cannot make you laugh all the time but I will continue to blog here. :-) Good evening!

Hi GaijinGirl,

Happy birthday to you! Well, I didn't intentionally break up with him on this particular day :-) It was time. But it was very hard to admit it was the end. Oh well. 8 freaking years, you know. I felt so empty but I got to used to being single now. I wish you a great year ahead! Good weekend!

Hi Cesar,

Yup. I'd love to. I am not sure when I will loose it. I may not loose it at all. But I cannot predict my future. :-) Well, I didn't do anything fun for me being single. It was just another day? huh.. have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Paul,

He told me I had some scratches on my right eye ball that seem to be a lot. He prescribed eye drops to kill bacteria. I hope it will get better soon. I mean it's painful and bothering right now... Have a great weekend!

Hi Raph,

I like natural dry looking instead of too much gel. :-) I started to use a hair dryer from this morning so it's actually better. :-) I always use a fiber-in wax. :-) You have a great weekend!

Hi Steve,

hahaha. Thanks for the tip. I will keep that in my mind but I think there are easier ways to avoid hair sticking my eyeball situation. :-) I wish it was the case. But I haven't had pubic hair attacking my eyes for awhile.... huh... sad. You have a great weekend!

Hi Seekeronos,

It turned out it wasn't the dry eye syndrome thingy at all. Just some scratches on my eyeball. But thanks for the recommendation when I really suffer from the dry eye thingy, I shall do that. :-) You have a great weekend!

Hi Mush,

Yes, that's what my doctor told me. Of course, he prescribed eye drops to kill germs to fix scratches on my eyeball. But I think I am going to get a hair cut just in case. :-) Good weekend!

Hi Ca va pas l tete,

you know, it's weird. some guys in their 20s do that actually here in Tokyo. But I don't think I'd like to. :-) You have a fantastic weekend!

Yesterday the shoulders, now the eyes! You're such a tease, Shigeki! Like some stripper slowly unfolding himself, whilst the audience drools in hushed anticipation. Me likey!

I too stare at the CRT day in, day out. By the end of the day, my eyes would be burning and tears would be streaming out uncontrollably. One would think that the tears would make it feel better, but NO, stings even worse. Had to resort to seeing a specialist. Turns out I have floaters too. Something seen more commonly in ageing, degenarating eyes. Yikes! Not much advise - rest the eyes every hour or so, the benefits supplements are not conclusive, artificial tears do help a bit. I'm happy to say that after trying out all the above, my eyes are much better now and I can anticipate when I've 'overused' my eyes.
