It's another week. A brand new week. yay! It was the coldest weekend ever in this winter in Tokyo. Saturday, I had a long tea time with a friend of mine and talked about IT stuff. I can't help it... I went to a book store after and picked up some books. I was going to read them, but ended up going to a gay dance club. I think I hadn't been to dancing and doing a lot of gay cliche for a long time. I couldn't live without it when I was a college student but I now can.... I had a great time though. Partying and socializing until 4 in the morning. Sunday, I didn't realize it was the first Sunday of the month. Going to church and shrine with my family. I totally forgot about that. I had a splitting headache at 9 and was very grumpy all day long..... The photo is one of those dogs at the gate of the shrine. These dogs are called "Komainu". By the by, I call one of not-so-nice users at work "Komainu" because she exactly looks like this.... of course, I say it when she is not present..... There are two dogs at each shrine. One with the open mouth. The other's mouth is closed. They are supposed to be half dog/ half lion and protect the shrine from evil spirits. But if you ask me, these dogs do look evil enough. The one with the mouth open seems to be bleeding. After all, I am not religious.... Anyway, it's Monday and I am going to be working as hell. I should probably sleep by now but so many things to do before welcoming Blue Monday. How was your weekend? I hope it was fantabulous. You have a great new week!
It's the end of a week-long holiday for most people here in KL, and definitely everyone's feeling the monday blues very badly! I'm glad you enjoyed yourself in the club haha! I try to go at least once a month. Are you good at dancing?
It sounds like a very busy weekend. I have been trying to catch up on my sleep most of the weekend and doing homework. It hasn't been fun at all. I am glad yours was.
*Shake your bom bom* Glad you had a funtime. ;)
Tell you what Nikko was really cold! I could not get any pictures taken because my hands froze before I could take any photos. So to cure the painful cold, I took some hot sake sold by a vendor next to the temple. Hot sake never felt so good before....Oh by the way, the cheese cakes at a a cafe next to the JR station is fabulous. If you're there next time, try it! 100% recommended by a gaijin!
Today at work, I tried the dried beans (in your last blog) and my colleagues were impressed that I knew what they were for :-) It looks like you had a fantastic weekend - clubbing and visiting the shrine! How convenient :-) Hope your soul was cleansed : hahaha .... Have a good week aheadl.... Looking forward to another snow dump in Tokyo (but I doubt that will be the case!)
Wah, shaking your cute buns at the dance club.
Blue Monday?
Paul
No offense meant, but that is one scary creature. I'd rather see you shaking your tight butt on the dance floor. Da yum! :-)
By Shrine, I assume that you mean Shinto, but, "church"? Are we talking Christianity here?
Hey I know about those lion-dogs!
The one with it mouth open is suppose to be female & the one with its mouth shut is supposed to be male, right?
Its nice to go to the clubs but certainly not as often as when I was younger, eg 18. Now that I'm 24, I enjoy long shags by the beach & curling up with a book on rainy days.... You stay fantabulous, ok?
Hi Will,
Oh, that's right. I hope you had a great time. Wait a minute, of course you did with your boyfriend. :) I am sure people would get over Blue Monday feelings once they start working hard. :) Well, I don't know I am good at dancing but I don't make myself look like a fool. :) You have a fantabulous Tuesday~!
Hi Cesar,
Oh yeah, it was a nice busy weekend alright but it wasn't as busy as yours for sure. :) I hope you are not too tired after frequent trips! I am sure it hasn't been fun at all but once you finish your programme, you will surely feel it is totally worth it! Hang in there, academic guy. :)
Hi Ca va pas la tete,
Oh yeah, but I don't do shake my bom bom a lot. :) I am not a whore. :) You have a fantastic evening!
Hi Ian,
Oh my god! You really went up there in this coldest weekend? Though I hope you had a great time up there. You know something funny? I have never been up to Nikko (the northern Kanto area) before in my life. I will keep your advice in mind. :) I am glad you impressed your colleagues. :-) I hope they weren't too impressed when you used chopsticks though. I doubt my soul was cleansed. I am so filthy. :) Well, sorry it wasn't snowy like last time but there will be another sometime by spring. :) Good evening!
Hi Paul,
Yeah, it was blue Monday alright. I mean you don't feel blue when it's the first day of the work you have to work? :) I did shake my buns alright. :) You have a great evening!
Hi Mark,
No, I am not offended at all. I mean I totally agree that it's damn scary. I doubt it's going to protect the shrine from evil spirits. That creature is going to make a friend with evil spirits. :) You have a fantastic day!
HI Hanuman,
yes, by shrine, I meant Shinto Shrine. Sorry I didn't fully describe it. and Church. Yes, Catholic church. I was born in Catholic/Buddhism&Shintoism family.... It's complicated... really. :) Have a wonderful day!
Hi AJ,
OH MY GOD! You are so much smarter than I am. I didn't know about the gender! really. I just knew the one with the mouth open is always on the right side while the closed mouth one is on left. huh... Thanks for the new trivia! I didn't know you were 24... Now, all of the sudden, I am so ready to shoot your youth. ;) You can stay fabulous without sleeping for three days in a row, right? I can't... but you, too, stay fabulous. ;) Good evening!
