um.... ?

Mon, 9 January 2006

First of all, this is the last day of the three day extended weekend. It hasn't been productive but at least I didn't have to work today. That's something.
Second of all, I was told by my supervisor I should probably shave off my beard. I haven't shaved since Christmas and I am JUST trying my new look. But he told me I looked too scary, and my team members are not comfortable..... Really? I mean it's just a fudging beard. It doesn't change my personality...does it? Having a beard doesn't automatically make me be a criminal, does it? I thought our company was casual about it....
Third of all, from today, I started putting the patch I got from a friend of mine in a tropical place. So far, I've been cool except for frequent jiggling my knee....and a lot more coffee.... I think I am going to make an appointment with my dentist to get rid of smoking stains. But I wonder if it helps since I've been having coffee all the time. Coffee would go great with a cigarrette though... ugh....
Fourth of all, a friend of mine told me, I have not done gay things lately. Does that make me less gay? anyway.... You have a fantabulous day/night!

Darling I think just blogging about your daily routine is already gay enough...

Are your co-workers really that sensitive? A little beard and they have to go running to your supervisor asking you to shave it off? This from the people who brought us Ringu?

Your beard comment reminds me of the big controversy in the late 80s when the Disney company took over the Queen Mary and told Queen Mary employees that they needed to be clean-shaven. There was a big protest. "Walt had a moustache! So can I!" I can't remember what the end result was, but I can't believe your supervisor told you that! You know if you were in the US, you could probably file some kind of harassment suit! But with the 35% pay raise, I suppose you could buy a fake beard to wear when you are enjoying a few moments of leisure time! :D

You have a beard? I find that hard to imagine. It's rather un-gay, too. Well, actually some gay guys have beards, but not ones they wear on their face...

Just saying 'fantabulous' gives you full gay points for the day! I feel gay just retyping it!

I find it funny that your supervisor had to ask you to shave your beard. It can't look that bad, perhaps he just doesn't like it. What would he think if you shaved your beard and your hair? You can come back to the office and tell him you thought he wanted you to shave your head too.

Good luck with the patches!

Shigeki-kun!

You know what? I think your supervisor is an arsehole, who does not repect your personal rights to do things you like to do. I think he is asking too much from his employees. Well, I don't know why people always like to judge people by their looks! Don't they understand it's inside that actually counts?!

Hey, but if you going to shave off your beard! Can you take a photo and show us how much facial hair you have grown since Christmas last year... I can then guess how hairy you are!

Anone, shita mo sonnani bosa bosa kana?! ;-)

It's so hard for me to concentrate again! Cos I just heard your vox earlier today. Husky voice + hairy body = Mr. Perfecto

He really told you that you look scary with a beard? Wow.

So did Hot Toddy contact you?

In the West, you could easily sue your boss for that comment! I haven't shaved since Christmas either, as I haven't been feeling well and haven't had much time (although I've got plently of time to read blogs, but not to shave .... hmm). Anyway, if somebody told me I looked scruffy then I would probably listen to them, but your boss just sounded rude. At the end of the day it's something they can't control, and it could be a religious requirement as well. So, screw them! Grow a really LONG beard, and tie some ribbons in it or something!! You might look like a freak though. I like GaijinGirl's suggestion best, buy some fake facial hair to wear when you're outside of work!!

Hi Will,

Really? Is it gay enough? huh.... But I can never imagine myself being straight so it's alright. :-) I think my people may be.... Since I spent some time abroad, they sometime gasp about how I think of things. Unfortunately, I didn't have a lot of time so I didn't shave it off at all. I still have a beard. My friends told me I look older when I have it but that's alright. :) If the director once approached me again and said things, I shall. But until then. :-) You have a fantabulous evening!

Hi GaijinGirl,

Oh, I remember that story. I think he had to shave it off after all but I don't really remember how it turned out. It's not that controversial at all in my case. But I was kinda surprised that he had to tell me that. Which is worse? Wearing a sleeveless shirt in the summer or having a beard? I mean a lot of women wear a sleeveless shirt but guys can'? I find that more offensive though.... :-( Anyway, I don't think I will wear a fake one. :-) You have a fantastic evening!

Hi Kevin,

Yes, I was lazy during year-end/new year's holiday. I now it's not really gay, I think. But my shirt for today is bright tangerine with a cute printed tie. That makes me gay enough. :-) hahaha. Fantabulous is indeedy gay alright. It's not that my main lable is "gayness" but I don't mind if I am called that as long as I am happy. :-) So I keep using a word fantabulous as much as I can. :-) You have a great day!

Hi Cesar,

I know it really caught me off guard when he told me that. But it's a good thing to know that some people don't feel comfortable with my new look. Not that it's any of their business but I don't do anything that makes uncomfy. so it was a surprise indeed. Oh, I've thought about shaving my hair off completely. But it's too cold to do that. and I like my hair after a daily decent treatment. ;-) Thanks. I am still wearing a patch and jiggling my knee a lot... :-) You have a good day!

Hi Seishi,

I e-mailed you like last week but I have to know. :-) If you have time, please reply! I think there aren't many people with beards here in this office. So that's why he said that? But it is very well said. It doesn't matter how you look unless it makes people so anxious or disgusted. really. But I guess I will have to think about shaving it off once I get a comment from them again. Well, I am sorry but I am not very hairy at all. Well, I have some hair here and there. Well, when I go to England, you can check it out yourself. :-) You have a happy day!

Hi Mr. Brian,

Oh yes, he really said that. If I translate it directly, "scary" fits there. You have a pleasant day!

Hi Mush,

I e-mailed you but he did contact me and I replied but haven't gotten his reply yet. I will e-mail him if I get a reply. I hope he is having a fantabulous time. Good day!

Hi Tim,

Too bad we are not really sensitive that much. I am the same. I didn't feel well and didn't have time to shave during Year-End/New Year's holiday. So I thought I'd try the new look. why not? I don't think growing a really long beard and having a bow on it is a good idea at all. :-) It's just too freaky. I did listen to him but then I am not sure if I really shave it off right now. It's too cold out. :-) I am careful when I drink milk so I am good. I guess I will stick with this for awhile and see how it goes. Anyway, you have a fantabulous afternoon!
