I am over the moon.
Mon, 26 December 2005

Even though Christmas is over, I decided to stick with this "Christmas blue" scheme. I don't hate this blue. When I get bored, I will change it. Anyway, I hope you had a great holiiday! By the by, about a month ago, I looked at the website of the airline I frequently use, and they held "Haiku" contest. The grand prize is a biz class round trip ticket. But, I didn't want that. There was the section for "Haiku in English" and the prize was Chevy's bicycle you see in the photo. it can be enlarged by clicking it as always. I fell in love with this bike. I mean I could afford it but didn't want that so badly. So I entered my Haiku. Guess what! I won! Here's what I wrote. At immigration, Smiling at the camera, Officer! please, smile!!The haiku had to be travel related. When I go to the States, they have every visitor's photo taken. Usually, immigration officers are/look very grumpy. Since the entry had to be made via a cellular phone, you can actually see what I wrote with my cell phone HERE The middle one on the left. :-) I know it's not the most brilliant haiku... but I won! What do you think? Yay. Santa came late! Thank you, Santa. Now, I will soon be a chevy owner for the first time in my life. Suprisingly, this Chevy is SOOOO economical. It won't eat a lot of gas like other Chevys. :-) I am over the moon! But, I guess I'd better focus on my butt when I work out. I'd like to look decent when I *ride* it. (^_^)V You have a fantabulous Monday!

I read all of the Haiku in the webpage, and they're all cute with those emoticons(?).
That is awesome*You deserve to have it.

Well done, Shigeki! I think among all the entries, yours was the most imaginative and clever, with a tinge of humor. That's a cool bike, by the way. Work those glutes! ^_^

I liked your entry the best too, Shigeki, I'm glad you won! Now we must have a picture of you 'riding' it all around Tokyo. :-D

what do you mean christmas is over? the christmas season is not over until three kings day! then, we get to eat galettes, which are kind of like pies whose crust is made of flaky pastry and whose filling is made of almond paste. mmmmmm... one of my favourite bakeries in montréal sell these galettes all throughout the month of january!
congratulations
riding your bike will be fun
don't get a wedgie!

Oh, congratulations on winning the contest!
I wrote a haiku once that goes:
'I'm broke and need cash
This cannot be the answer
A topless dancer'

Omedetou, Shigeki-chama! I'm so proud of you, and I'm really glad those judges have a sense of humor and recognized your brilliance(unlike the English speech contest RAT BASTARD judges in Shimane, but I'm not bitter HA HA HA)!!!!!!
You rock! m(- -)m

Hey Congrats Shigeki. Read all the entries and gotta admit, yours was the funniest and actually made sense. Like Kev said though, a picture of you riding around Tokyo in your new Chevy bicycle 2006.

Taniah! (Malay version of congrats) I think the fold up bike would really come in handy in Japan. It would make riding the trains so much easier!

Hi Paul,
It's the cheapest Chevy actually. So you might wanna have second thoughs on that one. Yet, marrying a doctor is great. :-) Have a good evening!
Hi Leigh,
Thank you very much. I am very happy. :-) I am very very looking forward to having that anytime soon but I was told it wouldn't be delivered until the mid of January. ooohhhh. :-) You have a pleasant evening!
Hi Mark,
Thank you very much, Mark. Aren't you sweet? I guess I cannot really write anything complicating. :-) OH yeah, I am waiting for that bike very very much! You have a fantabulous evening!
Hi Kevin,
Really? I am honored. :-) Thanks for your compliment. When my thighs are sexy enough, I might as well do that. :-) Thanks for your input. You have a wonderful morning!
Hi Raph,
Three kings day. I think I totally forgot about that. But thanks for the reminder! Galettes are awesome! When I visit Paris, I always go to this little Gallete place and have it. You have a fantastic morning
Hi Jon,
Thank you veyr much. :-) I am always bad at writing (as I didn't like any lit classes) but I am glad I got it. Your haiku is very funny. :-) I like English haiku as it is more liberated. :-) You have a marvelous morning!
Hi GaijinGirl,
Thank you very much! I am so honored. :-) Well, I am guessing the entries made in English weren't that many. I assume the chance was damn good. :-) But I am glad. You have a great evening!
Hi Kris,
Thank you very much. That's very sweet of you to say that but I always remember I am a bad writer. I got a C- in English 101. And I did so much worse in English Advanced writing class. But I am honored. ;-) You have a splendid evening!
Hi AJ,
Thank you! Oh yeah, that bike is going to be awesome so that I can bring it into my office. I think I will commute via bike from next year. :-) Just like Chinese and Dutch. :) You have a fantastic evening!

Yours was definetly more creative than the others. Way to go!

Is that a foldable bike? HOW COOL! Congratulations, our clever Shigeki. So proud of you!

Cool! Congratulations Shigeki! I don't often bother to do competitions, but maybe I should start, I want to win cool things too!!

Congratulations! OMG it's been ages since I won any contest. It feels good though.
The first entry which won was nice, but waaaayy too overemoticon-ed. The route 66 one was god, too...I'm so jealous you guys get to use such cute emoticons all the time. Our text messages are always boring.

Oh yes, indeedy! Thank you very much! I was told I'd get in the mid of January. I am glad mine looked creative. :-) Thanks!
Hi Mush,
Yes, it's a foldable chevy. :-) Thank you very much. well, I am pretty dumb. But I am glad I sounded clever there. :-) I am honored!
Hi Gregg,
hehehe. you make me blush or are you hitting on me? :-) I don't think I am good at everything I do. I just do things that make me challenging and happy. :-) Thanks!
Hi Tim,
Thank you! well, I don't, either. But I really really really wanted this chevy so I made an entry. :-) Yeah, if you really really really want it, you can get it! You definitely should!
Hi Will,
thank you! It did make me feel good when I got to know I'd get my Chevy that I wanted! well, our cellular phone system is not compatible with other countries. How sad is that? so we have some drawback....
