No, there are not Samurais here.

Mon, 5 December 2005

I missed yesterday's post because I was at Disney Sea. :-) yay. Anyway..... The new CIO (Chief Information Officer) from the headquarters came to Japan today. He had never been to Asia before in his life. Nope, he didn't ask if there were any Samurais still.... Don't worry. But it was that interesting to see...I had to share it with you guys. I am not making fun of him for the record. I just report what happened today at lunch. I am speachless..... I am not going to lunch with him tomorrow. Anyway, Happy Japanese!

Aha ha ha ha ha!!!! Gokurousama deshita!!!!! And it sounded so GOKUROU!!!!!

Holes in the socks for such a hot shot executive?! NO NO NO NO!!!!! He should have run to the nearest 100 yen shop to buy a new pair! I make the mistake of wearing really crappy shoes to traditional Japanese nomikai from time to time. It's so embarassing to show the okamisan my horrible shoes.

And putting sugar on the macha ice cream?! I would have been pissed off if I were the chef, too. He should have left it uneaten, or at least one taste and leave the rest.

You know how I feel about the Benihana comment from a similar incident I had ;D

Yay I love it when you do your flash stuff! It's sooo cute. How long does it take for you to come up with all the visuals?

Anyway he's American, right? Most Americans, esp those in positions of power, think that their way is the right way. Benihana indeed. It's such an insult! I hope you told him so. I think for christmas ur office shud chip him and give him a foot care gift basket. As a Chief Information Officer he should know a hint when he gets one.

(Hanging Head) Once again I am embarassed by another rude, arrogant, ignorant American.

My apologies, Shigeki! :-)

That had to have been really embarrassing!

Awwww, S. I'm sorry you had to do that.
Just know that all Amiercans are NOT like that. My feet don't stink, and I LOVE green tea ice cream!! Stupid man ruining it with sugar......

Posted by: ~JaSoN~ at December 6, 2005 08:27 AM

Well, my feet stink, and I don't really like green ice cream ..... does that make me a bad person? But hey, at least I'm not American ;-p

Oops, I meant green TEA ice cream, obviously. Sorry.

Posted by: Tim at December 6, 2005 09:24 AM

Yikes shigeki. There's nothing worse than sitting with someone else's stinking feet. And BTW, who puts sugar on ICE CREAM? -gregg

Hi GaijinGirl,

The reason why I quit being a secretary many years ago is because of that. :-) I think he is not a great person to get along with. I wouldn't have dealt with him at all if he weren't CIO, you know. :-) I think he needs to spend some high earned money on something basics. huh... You have a pleasant evening!

Hi Paul,

Thank you, Paul. Well, if I could spend more time on it, I could have done it better.... How did I? well, I just did when I came up with an idea at lunch. :-) You have a fantabulous evening!

Hi Will,

Yay. Thanks. But I am not really happy with my flash thingies. Since I only spend less than an hour, it's very sloppy.... I come up with an idea in a minute but it takes time to put it on Flash, you know. I wish I were a brilliant flash designer. :-) Yes, it was such an insult. but the scary part is that he didn't do it on purpose!!! how sad can it get? :-) You have a great idea but I get canned if I did that. You have a wonderful evening!

Hi Kevin,

hehehe. Well, it's not about being American, really. It's about him. So You didn't have to apologize on behalf of the United states. :-) But your thoughts count. Thanks. You have a great morning!

Hi Brain,

Yes, that was really embarrassing. I really wanted to leave right away but I had to keep him company... how sad is that? Thanks for stopping by and you have a splendid morning!

Hi Jason,

Yeah, I am sorry, too. I know many americans are not like that. :-) It doesn't matter whether his feet stink or not. It can be fixed... But I am so surprised that he puts sugar on a lot of things.... I think he will be dead soon. :-) You have a fabulous morning!

Hi Tim,

Don't worry about it. It wasn't a personal attack or anything. Just make sure you can spray some thing on your feet or whatever when you have to take off your shoes. :-) No, it doesn't make a bad person at all. You could order some other things. like Strawberry ice cream. So could he.... :-) You have a fantastic evening!

Hi Gregg,

I know! The worst part of all is that I could SMELL his feet along with my lunch. So I didn't eat much. I mean his feet weren't on the table or anything. ...... I've seen some people putting sugar on ice cream so I wasn't surprised but I was surprised that he used 4 packs!!! You have a marvelous morning!

I was in Toronto over Christmas and was shocked to find that the Starbucks Macha Green Tea Frapuccino I'd ordered had been ruined by the addition of... melon syrup! Apparantly, that's how their customers like it. Ugh!

It's interesting to learn about the kind of person responsible for making macha taste so vile away from Japan. Thanks for the insight. Have a wonderful weekend!
