Speaking-to-myself notes.

Wed, 14 December 2005

1. Why does Corona beer always come with Lime? Can I not drink without it? Or does it taste worse without it? I have never tried it without lime. huh...

2. A lot of expats left for home for Christmas. Work or rest. Simple. Don't call me directly to get help for the remote access while children are screaming in the back. I am not their butler. If you can't do it, don't bother trying to accesss network. Just drink egg nog (ew...)

3. I am so glad my last name is not "Takeshita" which is a common last name here.

4. Is it me? but many bloggers living in Asia seem to blog their own Post Meridian while people across the ocean seem to do so Ante Meridian . I am so certain there are people who blog the other way round. I know there are exceptions but...

5. I will never order Crème Brûlée Latte at Starbucks again even if it was made by the barista whom I have a crush on. Never. I fell for how "fantabulous" the name was.... It was just an overpriced extra sweetened latte with vanilla....

6. I peeed like more than 6 times today.... Anyway, YOU HAVE A FABULOUS DAY!

Did you know they make Corona Extra Light? It's like, what's the point, you know? It's not like the regular Corona is so dark and strong

1. corona without lime is even more suckass than it is with lime.

3. I'm glad your name isn't Takeshita, too.

5. Creme Brulee Latte just sounds gross. Even worse than Egg Nog Latte. Ew. Speaking of baristas, there's a new one at *my* Starbucks and he is cuuuuuute. *sigh*

6. Are we all keeping tally of the number of times we pee today? I think I'm at 1 so far.

Shigeki-chama: I agree with you on #2!!!!!! (although I'd probably be one of those technoretard expats calling you if I worked for your company).

I guess the Creme Brulee and Gingerbread lattes are just girlie things--I loved them both (was a bit hesitant to try the Gingerbread latte after Eboi's review, but I was pleasantly surprised). Then again, when a childhood friend is one of the guys that runs the operation in Japan, I guess Starbuck's has my dying devotion (not like he needs any of my yen).

It's funny, but the times I've met him for coffee, he's always paid with money out of his wallet (not waiving executive "I GET FREE EVERYTHING" wand). Sometimes the baristas know he's The Big Cheese, and sometimes they don't. It's funny to see the reactions of the ones who do know, and how extra nice and polite they will be (although I have yet to have a bad barista experience in Japan).

I didn't like egg nog until someone introduced me to Broguiere's (a Montebello, CA dairy)--sold in fancy glass quart bottles (about $5 a pop). But trust me, very heavenly, even without the added punch of booze. And their chocolate milk is de-lish!!!!!

1. I'm not a fan of Corona. Of course, I don't drink much beer anyway. But I do prefer the darker, bitter-tasting beers to the watered down versions.

2. I blog AM because it's much easier to blog from work when I am between calls. When I post on Sundays, it is usually PM.

3. I pee a lot all the time.

You have a fantabulous day, too.

I would not recomend Corana without lime AND salt. You can't forget the salt. Have you tried Modelo beer? It is a better Mexican beer. You still need lime for it though.

Re: beer - the watery yellow stuff like Corona is called 'lager' in the UK, I don't drink much of it. You should drink 'bitter'! Go to an English or Irish pub and order a pint of Worthingtons, I know they sell it there. It might set you back quite a bit (maybe ¥800 from memory?), but it's worth every yen! Ah, the creamy head ..... (and yes, I am talking about the beer!)

I can't blog at work, so that's why I always blog later in the day. Although, my posts are technically almost always in the morning, because they're normally after midnight.

I don't really pee during the day at work .... I tend to pee more in the evening. What a random series of notes Shigeki!!

From my numerous trips to Mexico, I think that's just the way they drink their beer. Down there you get a lime with dos XX, corona, and modelo. Guess the tradition followed the beer up north.

I post in the evening, don't know why.

My starbucks rule is: never order anything except a latte, though my ex turned me onto their caramel ice coffee drink which is pretty good in the summer.

If you keep drinking those coronas and lattes, no wonder you are peeing so much. That's a good sign around flu season. Means you are hydrated.

The lime is used not for flavor but to keep flies out of the beer bottle in Mexico.

the only question you need to ask is why the sexy men disappear in the winter, which is what they've done here in canada.

during the summer, they were all over the place. now they're gone!

1. I hate beer.

2. I hate how we have to always give in to people with "families". I should get tax breaks too, you know those TOd's ain't gonna pay for themselves. And the closest thing I'll have to a baby is my iPod.

3. Er, I'm glad my name's not Kim and live in Korea? Cos like 60% of the population there have that surname.

4. I always blog at night. I think better.

5. Oh Oh I wanted to try that...

6. Is that not normal?
