First of all, Suguri goes to the Olympic Games in Torino (Turin in English... But I'd rather call it in an Italian way). Yay. It has not been the easy season for her but finally, she made it to Italy. I hope one of three skaters will get a medal! Second... I have no idea why but cake is always happening during this time of the year, Christmas. Funnily, a friend of mine who is a monk at the buddhist temple has it even on this particular day. So when it comes to Christmas in Japan, everybody says "Cake" before roast chicken or anything traditional. There are so many damn well cakes available here in Tokyo around this time of the year. Every year, I pick up something really nice. It's neceesary to make a reservation two weeks prior to Christmas. This year, I decided to have Buche de Noel made by this notable patisserie. Buche de Noel with rasberry sauce. It was heavenly delicious. It cost ridiculously expensive but it was totally worth it. I shared it with my family. I guess after all being healthy and living happily are the best gift ever. Yes, I'd love to win the lottery but I guess I should appreciate how grateful it is to be healthy and be normally happy. 09:24 PM Neo-Japanese | Permalink | Comments (7) | (0)

OMG The cake's fabulous! Anything you have to pre-order like, weeks in advance must be really good.
Merry Christmas, Shigeki-san!

OMG, that looks so good! I bought a chocolate cheese cake, NY style to bring up to my mom's house for Christmas. I'm tempted to eat the whole thing right now, so far, I've only had one piece.
Merry Christmas!

Are you a Suguri fan, too? I am so happy she won. Whenever she is interviewed, she always acknowledges the fans' support. Watching the Japanese championships this weekend, I became a bigger fan of hers, whereas Arakawa really turned me off--something about the look on her face lately. Ando is really, really lucky Mao isn't old enough to skate in Torino. I felt sorry for Onada and Nakano because they were so much better than Ando--I think one of them should be going instead of her, but the decision was made on overall season performance, right?
Do you think Takahashi and Ohda are gay? I think that's the stereotype of male figure skaters, at least in America.
The cake looks delicious. Is it a JPH special? Hope your Christmas was a happy one!

Cakes, Pies or any other sweet is just a necessary evil for the holidays. They are full of calories and sugar but they are so delicious. After all of the food I ate at my family get together yesterday I am sure I have gained at least 10 lbs. (O.K. Maybe I am exagerating a lot).
I hope you had a great weekend and found the sexually confused catholic men at midnight mass.

Hi Raph,
Thank you very much! I hope you had a great Christmas over there! Stay warm!
Hi Will,
oh yeah, it was the most fantabulous cake I ever had!!! But I think I need to run more in the evening.... huh... Thanks very much. I hope you are not painfully stressful with the dial-up connection! Good evening!
Hi Jon,
I know!!! But I like a chocolate cheese cake, too. I mean I thought it was really weird when I heard of it for the first time but it was delish! I hope you didn't finish it by yourself only. Sharing is good. :-) Have a great Monday!
Hi GaijinGirl,
I've been a fan for Suguri for a long time. I know what you mean about Arakawa. The way she dresses, does make-up tells me she is a hooker. I don't like her. I have no idea why people are so ga-ga-ing about Miki. Anyway.... The cake is not Jean Paul Hevin's. It's baked by this very famous person who won the contest in France. I have a lot of variations when it comes to Cake. :-) Good evening!
Hi Cesar,
Oh yeah, they are unavoidable. I mean they should come along as always. :-) When I have it, I don't really worry about how many calories it's got. But I usually worry later. :-) There were several hotties at the church when I was there. :-) I was so happy. Thank GOD. :-) I hope you had a wonderful weekend!
