I was at this Mormon Family when I was an exchange student in Portland, OR. I went to this Mennonite College in Kansas, U.S.A. for the first two years of college. Which means, I couldn't even say "OH MY GOD" I was told I had to say "OH MY GOSH". I wasn't really used to dirty words and cussing but I am now. :-) Earlier today at work, I had to call the headquarters. I had to talk with them about FAX system specifically. It would be easier for me to describe things in a written format. However, I had to talk to them about it as it was urgent. FYI, I feel really anxious when I have to say the word "Fax". I could go for facsimile but the first vowel is still "u" if I say it in a Japanese way. As a result, my pronounciation for FAX is so unnatrual. During the whole conversation, I had to take SUPER extra caution that I pronounced it right. By the way, the way we pronounce "Fax" here in Japan in Japanese is like "fux". If I pronounce it in a Japanese way, I go I think I need to know if I can FUX after the cluster node is migrated to the other... That's not good.... I am absolutely certain I did alright without pissing off the executives over there in the States but I don't like this word... Yes, English is always a foreign language for me forever. I can never get used to it.
By the by, each airport has a three letter abbereviation. New Tokyo International Airport = NRT, Kuala Lumpur = KUL, Newark = EWR. On Kyushu Island (it's the big island located in the western part of Japan), the largest city in that region is Fukuoka. The three letter code for that airport is FUK obviously... huh... You have a in
ah, FUK. My parents said their travel agent was so embarassed about their tickets to come see me because it had "FUK" on it. Ha ha.
My Salvadoran friend used to have problems pronouncing "fact" correctly. Once he was giving a speech, and it sounded like he was saying "it's a f**cked."
*tee hee*
See, now you know why I only say "OH MY GAWD" not "OH MY GOD"
I've noticed that recently that when trying to pronounce Japanese words I’m a little more careful as once I was finding out the make of a cd rom drive and it said "matshita" on the drive so I read it out loud and got an ear bashing from someone in my office as he is learning Japanese and he thought I was taking the p*ss out of the Japanese companies name.
I know you find some English words hard to say, but if you imagine what’s its like for me, I can't roll my r's to save my life, its really tough when trying to speak Spanish but my 5 year old nephew is learning different languages in nursery school and he can roll his r's and say a few words in French & Spanish......smart little sod :o).
It annoys me that they teach languages in secondary school here in the UK when its more difficult to learn then due to the fact that you have already developed your speech skill by then, I think all languages should be taught to children as soon as possible.
Hahhaa! I'm sure you're very careful when it comes to things like this.
My captain told me the word "chin chin" sounds like a bad word in Japanese. Is it true?
Hi, Will--yes, it is Japanese slang for male thingy. It's difficult for Thai people because they often say, "Jing jing?!" as in "No kidding!?" ("Honma ni?") My sister Tammy often catches herself before saying it.
I remember when Masako was engaged to the Crown Prince. A Brit friend told me she was having a conversation with someone Japanese who asked, "Is that fact?" but it sounded like "fudged." My Brit friend replied, "Well, yes, it is fucked." I think we all feel sorry for Princess Masako whose promising diplomatic career was brought to a halt because the Imperial Family needed an heir.
As usual, I love your cgi, Shigeki-chama! How is your Starbucks hottie? ;D
the boys in my class used to get kicks out of me saying mango in class cos i suppose i use a stroger k sound rather than g...
& everytime a japanese person said nasai as in shi-nasai, i would giggle inside cos it means "like sh!t" in my dialect..
im not sure why but you should use the f word more!!
Hi EnviroBoi,
Although I prefer guys from Nagasaki and Kumamoto, you are so lucky that you got to be able to live there. I am envious. :-) That's even sweet that you were able to show around Kyushu regardless of the airport code. :-) That's right, Fact, too. There are way so many words I need to be careful about. :-) One of my friends from said "be witched" but it apparently sounded like "BITCHED!" :-) Interesting. You have a fantastic Saturday!
HI Wayne,
wow, I didn't know you were religious. :-) You have a fantabulous Saturday!
HI James,
Hehehe. I feel sorry for people whose last name is "Takeshita". And there are many Takeshitas unfortunately. I didn't know you were learning Japanese. That's very challenging for you for sure but I am impressed! When I was a college student, friends around me made fun of me about pronouncing one particular class. Calculus. Because apparently, the way I say it is really cute like a 5 year old boy. :-( Even though they didn't have to know what assignment I was working on, they go "Which class is that for?" hehehe. I think they are starting to learn English from elementary school here but apparently, we don't have a lot of English speakers here...sad, huh? You have a fantastic Saturday!
Hi Will,
I try to be careful but I don't do that when I am drunk. So please bear with me. :-) Did your captain really say that? I SPECIFICALLY want to know when. It's equivalent to the word "Weener" in English. It is not necessarily a bad thing. Younger people refer to their genitalia. so it brings me a question. Was he subtly asking you to give your head to his captain? ooohhhh, I have never seen two pilots going at it. :-) That's HOT! When he says that next time, make sure you report me whether he is asking for your head or what????? :-) You have a fantabulous weekend!
Hi GaijinGirl,
Thanks for the explanation, Gaijingirl. That's sweet of you. I've never used a sentence "Is that fact"... you see, even though I can pronounce (if I am careful) "Fact", "FAX", "FACULTY", "De Facto", and etc, I usually go for an alternate word that means similar or the same as I get nervous. :-) T As a result, my pronunciation for those words tend to be really weird as I over pronounced "A" part too much... sad. The reason why I wanted to study abroad is because of Princess Masako! yay. But I've never heard her speaking English or French... I wish. :-) The hottest starbucks barista can be only seen when I am at work so I didn't see him... next week:-) You have a fantabulous evening!
Hi AJ,
hehehe. That's funny. I am sorry for those boys but that's definitely funny. :) The weird thing is I've never said that word ever in my life. That's because I am a faggot. :-) It would gross me out if I said that word only and picture what it is..... Well, I don't use a lot of F words considering I am more familiar with conservative people in the States. :-) I guess the first time in the States is still haunting me not to say F words? huh... :-) You have a fantabulous weekend!
Wow, incredible blog layout! How long have you been blogging for? you make blogging look easy. The overall look of your website is wonderful, as well as the content!
I think it's essential for other to do this. I'm sure it will guide them in doing the right thing.
Hiya, I am really glad I have found this info. Today bloggers publish just about gossips and net and this is actually irritating. A good website with exciting content, that's what I need. Thank you for keeping this website, I'll be visiting it. Do you do newsletters? Cant find it.
I'll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)
I was just looking for this information for a while. After six hours of continuous Googleing, at last I got it in your site. I wonder what is the lack of Google strategy that don't rank this kind of informative sites in top of the list. Normally the top web sites are full of garbage.
I havenˇ¦t checked in here for some time since I thought it was getting boring, but the last several posts are good quality so I guess I will add you back to my everyday bloglist. You deserve it my friend :)
The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it'll do even better in those areas, but for now it's a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod's strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.
I like what you guys are up too. Such clever work and reporting! Keep up the superb works guys Iˇ¦ve incorporated you guys to my blogroll. I think it'll improve the value of my web site :)
Thank you for the sensible critique. Me and my neighbor were just preparing to do a little research about this. We got a grab a book from our local library but I thGood ˇV I should definitely pronounce, impressed with your website. I had no trouble navigating through all the tabs and related info ended up being truly easy to do to access. I recently found what I hoped for before you know it at all. Quite unusual. Is likely to appreciate it for those who add forums or something, site theme . a tones way for your customer to communicate. Nice task..
Thanks for sharing excellent informations. Your web site is so cool. I am impressed by the details that you have on this website. It reveals how nicely you understand this subject. Bookmarked this website page, will come back for more articles. You, my pal, ROCK! I found simply the information I already searched all over the place and simply couldn't come across. What a perfect web site.
If you're still on the fence: grab your favorite earphones, head down to a Best Buy and ask to plug them into a Zune then an iPod and see which one sounds better to you, and which interface makes you smile more. Then you'll know which is right for you.
Hello, you used to write excellent, but the last few posts have been kinda boringˇK I miss your great writings. Past several posts are just a bit out of track! come on!
Good site! I truly love how it is simple on my eyes and the data are well written. I'm wondering how I might be notified whenever a new post has been made. I've subscribed to your feed which must do the trick! Have a great day!
Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass' favor.
Sorry for the huge review, but I'm really loving the new Zune, and hope this, as well as the excellent reviews some other people have written, will help you decide if it's the right choice for you.

I would like to thank you for the efforts you have put in writing this blog. I am hoping the same high-grade site post from you in the upcoming also. In fact your creative writing skills has encouraged me to get my own blog now. Actually the blogging is spreading its wings rapidly. Your write up is a great example of it.
Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It's very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.

I am very happy to read this. This is the kind of manual that needs to be given and not the random misinformation that is at the other blogs. Appreciate your sharing this greatest doc.
