Evil Wedding

Sun, 13 November 2005

No, it's not because it is the 13th today.... So I was invited to the wedding for this close friend of mine. In the morning, I made sure I wore the best suit and a new pair of shiny black sexy leather shoes that I picked up yesterday. I felt luxurious and fabulous. I am usually happy to go to the wedding even though I am not legally able to hold the wedding for myself. Free alcohol, and conversations with friends. But this time, things are little different. I was shaking as hell because I was nervous. The nervous part of this wedding was I had to be an organist for them. They nicely asked me if I could play the wedding march, and I agreeed even though I hate pipe organs. By the by, I miniored in Music at this Jesuit college, and I played the organ for some time. Because I haven't worked out for a while, my suit was a little tight... Another problem was I was not able to rehearse with them so they hadn't heard my music. I practiced it back at my parents' but it was a piano.... I went there 2 hours earlier so I was able to practice it at the last minute. Then, another problem.... my feet hurt like mother fudger while I was playing the bass part with them. My feet were bleeding because of the stupid killing shoes. I wanted to cry there.. Before the bride came in, I was playing Air by J.S. Bach. The usual mellow music. It was slow graceful music but I wanted to scream as this mother fudger was killing my feet.
While playing it, I noticed a certain length that there was no bass (feet part) part at all. So I took my shoes off during that. It was better even though the bass keyboards I had to play with my feet were deadly cold. When the bride came in, I played the fantastic beautiful piece. I wasn't nervous at all as I way passed the point where I was concerned I would make a mistake. Thanks to the pain. It hurt as mother fudger. I slipped a little but it wasn't noticeable... I hope.... I played two other pieces and I was done. My feet were numb. I was already tired there. The kind of the satisfaction you could get after good hot sex. :-) My feet were painful but I had to look pretty happy for them. I WAS HAPPY but I WASN'T for my stupid mother fudging shoes. I think I drank 3 glasses of cold Sake before the entree came. Then, the bride approached me. Her groom was a close friend of mine. I don't really know her.... She went "This isn't a big deal at all but I thought you would play the different piece for the wedding march"....another problem... you see, being Catholic haunts me all the time... The most popular music for the wedding march is either This by Mendelssohn or that by Wagner. But I played the usual one by Schubert instead. The Mendelssohn's one was played for the pagan wedding and is considered inappropriate at most churches.... The Wagner's one was played in Opera as it was supposed to mean "Ill-fated" wedding and is banned at my church. So I told her that I told her groom, my friend, what I'd play and I didn't play Wagner one because I wanted her to be happy. (Yeah right....I was just making it up.) She was relieved and thanked me. Whew..... ..her groom should've told her that!!! Anyway, I obviously took a cab to come back home....My feet were bleeding hell... One complaint for a person who invented Pipe Organs... Please get rid of stupid bass keyboards that you have to play with feet!

What do you mean by legally able to go to the wedding yourself? You need a passport? :)

HI Paul,

I wanted it to mean I was not able to hold the wedding for myself legally. Sorry. I am way boozed.... Happy evening.

I only like the Prada Sport shoes, they are so comfy and are sneakers. I can wear anything I want to work, so I can be comfy in fashion sneakers and jeans :) i do agree that Prada collection shoes are a nightmare as far as comfort goes, with the exception of the driving shoes.

Your past sounds very interesting. A Japanese Catholic (there aren't that many of them, but you know that) who went to a Jesuit school, and you have also mentioned a Menonite (spelling) school as well.....how surreal! They should make a movie about your life :-) Maybe it could be called 'Shigeki Monogatari' ^_^V

Yeah, you gotta have comfy shoes to play the organ. I've been doing it for 18 years...may I suggest Organ Master organ shoes?? They're pretty cool. Not very stylish, but at least your feet won't hurt.

Hi FashMagSlag,

How are you doing? I've never had Prada sport products before... They look nice indeed but they look fancy and expensive. It's really sad that I keep wearing them even though they are killing me.... I am a fool. :-)

My past is alright. Well, there aren't many Catholic people here in Tokyo. But if you go to Nagasaki, there are more Catholic there. Mennonite was very interesting but I don't think i would like to go there again. :-) I appreciate the experience but no more... Well, my story would be too sleepy to watch so it's better not to do that. :-) Thanks for stopping by and you have a fantabulous week!

Hi EnviroBoi,

If I did that, I'd be killed by your boy. I'd love to play your organ. I am good at "wood"wind instruments. Have a fantabulous week!

Hi Jason,

Long time no! :-) I knew there were shoes for Organ but they don't look fancy.... But then, I played it without any shoes on at last so I should've brought those uncool shoes... :-) THanks for the suggestion. No Prada next time. :-) You have a fantabulous week!

Hi AJ,

Why not??? I am not a wedding person either but I went there anyway. :-) You, too, have a fantabulous week!

Hi Gregg,

I think my parents spent a lot of money on me as I was the first born. But then, I enjoyed playing the piano so I appreciate it. I think I will seriously start playing it when I get older to avoid senile dementia. :-) Those killer shoes are really dangerous... Watch out! you have a fantabulous week!

Oh this is such a nice post! You're so multitalented (and rich! Prada shoes, you bitch!) and fabulous!

I didn't know that the wedding march had so any variations. But you're fabulous anyhow. When you're done playing with Enviroboi's organ can you play with mine too?

HI Will,

Well, I cannot do anything luxurious at all for the rest of this year as I bought something really expensive. :-9 Oh, I'd definitely love to play your organ, too. :-) You naughty boy! You have a fantabulous evening!

Shigeki-chama...GOMENASAI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would not have kept you up so late chatting if I knew you were IN the wedding, especially as the organist! I'm sure the lack of sleep didn't help your pre-wedding nerves, but I'm glad to hear that the crisis was averted and that you were happy with your performance.

I don't suppose you will be playing the organ tomorrow at Princess Nori's wedding?! ;D

Shigeki, your adventures are always fascinating. Just the picture of you trying to play the organ while in intense pain from your Prada shoes... It's like something out of a sitcom!

I didn't know that about Wagner's wedding march!

shigeki, you are so talented!
