Cheapy

Apparently, this is my right cuff. I bought this jacket a week ago at GAP. Regardless of the fashion queer friend's comment about me being too old to shopt at Gap, I picked this up. (It's interesting that the same kind is not available in the States... ) Because I thought it looked reasonably fabulous on a guy who is 30 years old. As I knew I would have to stay at work til midnight at least, I chose something to keep myself warm for the jacket. It was 24 degrees celsius = 75.2 degrees fahrenheit this afternoon here in Tokyo. But I hear it is going to be somewhere around 11 degrees celsius = 51.8 degrees fahrenheit tonight. So I have this warm jacket hung *blush* in my office. You know, it is going to be windy and chilly outside later tonight. I don't have anyone to cuddle with or hug on my way. So this jacket will do. I don't look fancy like the guy who's wearing an armani in Translation department on the 18th floor but I like this. Some people (especially, that fashion queer) tell me that a certain brand targets a certain age group and that considertaion should be included when I buy things. Well, I disagree. Some 30 year old guys look a lot older than I do as if I could ask them what kind of life they have been through. Some other 30 year old guys look a lot younger than I do as if they did everything what the skin care section on the Men's fashion magazine suggested. I just go with how reasonable I look and how reasonable it costs. That's all. If I think I look good in a Gap jacket, I do. :-P So yes, my total outfit today is rather cheap but the challenge is how I do not look cheap. Is that wrong? I kinda enjoy looking decent with cheap clothes. :-) Anyway, I've gotta get back to work. You have a fabulous Tuesday and don't work/study too hard like I am doing here! Ta-ta-!

I LOVE GAP Japan. When I go to Hiroshima, I can find really marked down stuff in my sizes (cuz J girls all wear Size 0 or less!!!!!). I mean, really--comfy slacks to wear inside the house or out for 700 yen?! Uniqlo is also good, but sometimes you get what you pay for...things tend to pill or stain more easily. But I digress (I apologize for my manic rambly commenting, but I'm HAPPY to be pulling out of my blahs!!!!!) M-U-W-A-H!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shigeki-chama CHOU KAKKOIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!

I absolutely agree with 'looking decent with cheap clothes',and that's what I usually pay attention to. I'd like to buy something...of GAP,but there are not many products or store here...maybe I could do that next year:) I've got to satisfied with 'MUJI' here now.I love it*
PS) Now you obviously know that I'm not good at English..I was like 'skirf?well, that's probably...a kind of skarf'..;)

Listen to the Fashion Queer seven times, shop at GAP 8 times.
Personally, I think that some stores do cater to certain age ranges: A&F, anyone? I don't believe the GAP does. I like how their clothes tend to be simple yet trendy. And, even though I am *GASP* 35, I still wear clothes from the GAP.
Listen to your Inner Fashion Queer. He knows best :-)

I am totally agree with you on the "looking decent with cheap clothes". It is depend on how the person carry the clothes, and not the clothes carry the person. :)

There's no GAP in KL T_T So we just have to listen to you describe your fabulousness!
Anyway if GAP was good enough for Madonna it should be for yoU!

shigeki- Uh Oh. You mean I shouldn't be buying clothes at the gap? Does that mean I am one of those nearly 50 year old man that is trying to look young and failing? But I only buy jeans and polo shirts there. They are the only store that has size 32 or 33 pants that fit my narrow inseam and butt. Everywhere else they sell those "easy" or "relaxed" fit jeans that are much too baggy on me. -gregg

its part of my nature to defy convention. So eventho i can be gayer than a flamingo, i buy & wear anything I like, regardless of whatever! As long as you look good honey, its ok...

Hi GaijinGirl,
Yeah. I don't think there are a lot of people who hate Gap anyway. :-) I don't go to Uniqulo because they are really cheapy and after washing them 5 times, they are worn out..... hehehe. I like quality over quantity in this case. :-) Don't apologize for your commenting. You are always welcome here. :-) Have a fantabulous evening!
Hi Leigh,
Oh yeah. It doesn't mean buying something expensive would automatically make me look fabulous, you know. :-) So I like the difficult challenge. :-) Well, if you are in Tokyo next year, you can browse a lot of GAP products. But then there are a lot of nice brands here. The one I strongly recommend would be "Tomorrow Land" They are cute!! Please check it out when you get here!
Hi Enviroboi,
Hehehehe. That's funny. :-) I think you are right. But it doesn't say it really outside but some brands target certain "race" or certain "sexual orientation" even. :-) I agree GAP doesn't really target anyone particular for sure. young or old. straight or gay. But then, this queer friend of mine gives me some invalid advice every so often. :-( Don't listen to him. If you feel you are comfy with it, that's the right clothe too. :-) You have a fantabulous morning!
Hi Will,
Really? I didn't know that!!! that's shocking. But then, you guys have A|X and we don't here in Tokyo!! so I am envious already. You know I looooove A|X but I cannot buy them unless I go on a trip. huh... what a pity.... So in the mean time, I will enjoy this GAP jacket. :-) You have a fantabulous evening!
Hi Gregg,
no, no, no.. that's what a queer fashion invalid advising friend of mine told me. I didn't say that. You can buy any clothes you feel you want to own. That's the spirit I am sticking with! No sweat. If you are comfy with the products they offer, it means it's right. :-) I am absolutely sure there is no law what to wear and what not to wear. :-) Enjoy your GAP jeans as long as you want! Have a fantabulous morning!
Hi AJ,
That's a good philosophy, sweetie. Well, I do know I don' t look good in any Tommy Hilfiger products so I don't do that. :-) But other than that, I just go with what I prefer and what I want. :-) I used to make wrong choices all the time in my early 20s but I think i now know how to look decent. :-) Thanks for your advice and you have a fantabulous evening!
