Time goes by so fast
Sun, 16 October 2005

Time goes by so slowly... Time goes by so slowly......Not if I am working on Sunday... As I decided not to work yesterday to have fun, I am here at work still. That's quite alright as I could use some extra money. Working on Sundays can be never fun at all. Hi, Shigeki-chama! Glad to hear you weren't too shaken up by the quake. Which Mexican food place did you go to? I went to El Torito in Shinjuku...I can't believe we had to wait about 30 minutes for a table. I forgot that we could make reservations...but I enjoyed watchng the cute waiter make fresh guacamole for us. ;-D Hope your tummy is doing better. Maybe it's the beans?

Hiya Shige, Hope you're home by now, at least and resting. I guess I could have run into you at 'juku yesterday, but the chance of that happening though is slim huh.. My tummy does that too, every time I go to Taco Bell. That's the closest to Mexican I've had since I got here.
When are you gonna be getting your deserved days off anywho? Well a full one, aside from the one you had yesterday. Is that how it is with civilian jobs? You can stay as long as you please, hmmm?
Good thing the earthquake was just moderate. Did you feel it at all?

Kiddo, you are working way too hard. How many hours do you clock in for a week actually? Not sure if my hours are worse than yours... gotta check.

Aww honey you're too sweet. And FYI after you convert my pay to yen...well I think I'd rather be a bartender in Tokyo for all the good it will do for me. I can't even afford a Coach wallet!
Have fun dancing to Madonna! She's so fabulous even after all these years!

Mexican food is REALLY really bad in Japan. I don't mean there's anyting wrong with the food, but it tastes weird. Maybe that it is made for the Japanese palette is why it is so strange....just like how most Chinese food in the US is just gross and isn't Chinese food at all. I hope you feel better by now...not a good way to spend your Sunday, running to the toilet!
I heard about the earthquake on the news here...it was based in Saitama-ken, right? I heard that only person was hurt, is that true?

Shigeki- The post mexican food dance, to Madonna, on the way to the bathroom is sometimes call Montezujma's revenge and comes from eating really cheap mexican food.. I think mexicans find this very insulting, but it describes it very well. Real mexican food is made from fresh ingredients and does not have this effect. I think it's just the crap mexican food you are getting in Japan (pun intended) -Gregg

Haha i've never heard of that song before! >.
I'm surprised you have to make a "big business" from eating that... Not use to other food I suppose? If it was me, I think it would be the same thing aswell, although my love to try new food is alway there! ;)

Heh.... I know urm.. a friend that has to use the toilet alot after spicy indian food but it never stops me from enjoying it.
When I used to drink Coronas from the bottle, I used to push a lemon wedge into the bottle sort of like that funny Soda with the marble in it. The lemon would then bob up and down in the bottle & cause the beer to fizz alot.
Just thought I share that with ya, You have a super-duper extra sexy too!

Hi GaijinGirl,
um.... I don't remember the name of the restaurant but the one on the first floor of Hotel Century. It's always nice to make a reservation for a table even if it's not a snobby place. After all, it's one of the busiest districts on this planet. :-) I guess it's either beans or oil. I don't know. I feel always funny like this. Thanks! and you have a great evening!
Hi Kris,
When you left a comment, I was still at work but I was able to sleep for a normal length so it's good. :-) You say "juku" for Shinjuku? huh... yeah, we could have bumped into each other but it's unlikely. There is this really good Mexican restaurant near my former work, and it is pretty damn good. It's near Ark Hills. :-) I have no idea when I can get a day off. This is not usual in the private sector. really. My company is crazy. that's all. :-) Yeah, I was working on a server when it hit the Tokyo area. But I am alive. :-) You have a good night!
Hi Paul,
I've never thought of how long I usually work in a week and it didn't occur to me I ever wondered until you asked. Let's see, I guess my total for one week is somewhere between 80-100 hours. It's really hard to get a life with this work schedule. :-) but it's really really important we do :-) I am sure you have your brilliant life like making a trip to Turkey. So you are safe! Don't work too hard! Have a wonderful evening!
Hi Will,
Don't be so modest. :-) I am sure I will be really poor after I quit this job so (T_T) But you see it's really great to have a lot of money but the more important thing is how much you enjoy your life. :-) That is priceless. I am not sure how much bartenders here earn as we don't have tipping system. :-) For your info, I was dancing like a fool to Hung Up. :-) I am so into it. :-) Thanks and you have a fantastic evening!
Hi Fashmagslag,
Really? I didn't even notice it. I am sure there are some places that provide nice damn good mexican food in Tokyo. :-) You know I like americanized Chinese food by the way. That grossness is something I strangely like..... kinky... But I only allow myself to have it one time during the whole trip as they may do something bad on me. :-) thanks. I am feeling much better today! I thought it hit Ibaraki-ken but somewhere around there. Northern Kanto area. It was really mild and I didn't read any article about someone getting hurt or I may have skipped it. Over all, it was a usual earthquake. :-) You have a great Monday morning!
Hi Gregg,
Ooohh, I didn't mean to make it insulting or anything... I just looked up Montezuma's revenge and it doesn't sound pretty at all. Mine wasn't as bad as it is defined. :-) We went to this restaurant with a great quality (really) but it's happened before when I was even in Mexico. I guess something did some to me. I wonder what. But when I am energized and feel great, I don't deal with this problem. I guess I will stay away from mexican for awhile. Otherwise, I get nervous. :-) You have a pleasant day!.
Hi Chris,
Yeah, the problem is I have a lot of things I am interested in eating. I basically have only a few things I cannot eat. I loooove food so ... :-) Just like my parents' dog. She eats anything like everything tastes great but when she eats beef, she gets runs.... How pitty. You have a fantabulous evening!
HI AJ,
Oh, I can understand spicy indian food does that to a friend of yours. I can easily related to it. But I'd eat it anyway! It's kinda a must to have a lemon or a lime with it, isn't it? But Corona is always "light" for me so I'd rather have something really rich like "Aki-aji" by Kirin beer. But they didn't have it. But I like Coronas, Glorsch, other imported beers. :-) You have a brilliant evening!
