Sports Day

Mon, 10 October 2005

It's Sports Day here in Japan. A national holiday. 41 years ago, Tokyo Olympics games were held. Anyway, I didn't do anything atheletic today as I had a major hangover this morning. I did something fun yesterday and couldn't update the blog. I think this is the very first time to miss posting. But that's alright. I dated this guy and it was fantabulous. He owns a cruising boat and did Tokyo bay cruising. The weather was not pleasant but it was really good. After that, no equipment involved in bed. Thank God! And I am here to prepare for this little dinner party for 20 persons... I wanted to try something middle eastern. I love tabouli But we don't have that here much... It's not common... So I went to this supermarket for expats who don't speak Japanese at all and western people as they have western ingredients like Turkey, canned red beets (ew), etc that are not available at a usual supermarket. I picked up this Tabouli instant mix and exactly followed the instructions on the box. Now, it smells like bad urinals in the bathroom at the rest area on the highway.... I am supposed to cool this down and serve it cold but I am worried.... this is not something I smelled when I had Tabouli... should I have made it from scratch??? Well, if it doesn't taste good, I will just toss it.... I think I am going to a middle easter cooking class by the end of this year... I hate cooking....But I want to learn middle eastern dishes. They would come handy, really. You have a great Monday!

Hmmm, while you're on Sports Day, I must admit I've never been actively involved in sports, other than those required in school.

More on the date, please! And hopefully the next time, you'll both be aboard his boat, cruising down the bay, while the sun sets in the distant horizon. Ah, sweet!

20 people? That's quite a large dinner party. What were the circumstances?

Shigeki- I checked the local store and they don't sell urinal flavored Tahbouli salad here. Guess that is a treat that is only available in Japan. :-) I make homemade tahbouli all the time. It might be hard to get the bulgar wheat over there, though. Usually I am modest, but when it comes to cooking, I am really good ;-) -Gregg

OMG? Shut up about the dinner party (ok not shut up TOTALLY, just tell us later!) and MORE ABOUT CRUISING MEN!

Literally men who cruise!

I want to know why Sigeki is so familiar with smells in public men's rooms along the highway! ;-)

Hi AJ,

Well, there was this devastating incident that I will share it with you. It's not him. It's me. But sigh.... I am so depressed right now. Well, I report you back soon!

Hi Raph,

Thank you! I know it shouldn't have smelled like it but when I poured hot water, it exactly reminded me of that! I wonder why.... Good day!

Hi Mark,

Well, the date part was pathetic at the end. It's not him.. It's me. I am so devastated and my hands are still shaking from the fear but I will let you know when I am in a better place! Good day!

Hi Jon,

Yeah, well, it was actually 16 as some of them didn't come. It's just a bi-monthly home party thing we've been doing. I was the one to host this time.. Good day!

Hi Gregg,

I know! But when I put hot water, that was the smell I had from the bowl! What's up with that? Well, I am going to stay away from that instant mix for awhile. :-) That's so great that you are a great cook. I wish I were... You have a great day!

Hi Ash,

Thanks! Yeah, it can really burn some calories how rought you make. :-) It was alright but I don't like cooking to be honest.... he..... Have a good day!

Hi Will,

It went really really well until I was about to leave from his bed. Then, the incident happened. It's not anything embarrassing or ball-hitting related...but I am not ready to share this with you guys... I will be. please stay tuned! Good day!

Hi Kevin,

Hehehe. well, that was the only smell I could come up with when I wrote the post... I mean nothing really deep in there. I guess I am not really good to put it in a beautiful way.... huh.... Good day!

AJ, You'd better go take care of your "thing" at work when you make a trip to the bathroom. :-) hehehe.
