Geeky eyes

I am a computer geek. You already know that. But it doesn't mean I enjoy computers like installing some weird equipments or anything in my private life. As a matter of fact, I am a computer geek who hates computers. I happen to be a geek at work but it doesn't mean I live geeky. (well, I might without noticing it) Computer geeks are supposed to wear pebble-lensed glasses. That's very prejudice. A french language school teacher in Paris when I was taking classes there once said to me "Japanese tourists wear glasses and always take photos. Why do you not wear glasses?" Fudge her!!! I don't wear glasses or contact lenses. I don't look geeky outside. I hide it very well as if I am a normal person. That's right! I am not out. I am in a very dark geeky closet. Luckily, my eyesight is actually pretty good. 2.0 for both eyes meaning.... 20/10 in English. 6/3 in Europe? I forgot.... I was always told by my parents if I read things in darkness, my eyesight would get worse, and I would have to wear glasses eventually. Well, I looked at a lot of naked guys in dirty magazines in bed by holding a flashlight in my left hand when I was a junior high student. I am right handed so you know. :-) But my eyesight never went worse.... Anyway, this is my right eye at 7:00p.m. today. I am tired. Eye Redness... Please fire me. I will know the result of my early retirement program sometime by the end of this month. I am begging! Anyway I hope you have a fantabulous Tuesday! Going back to work sadly..... ta-ta-!

Gambatte, Shigeki-chama! I hope you get a nice, big fat voluntary leaving package, but as everyone has been saying, maybe you've made yourself a bit too indispensable to the organization!

I'm the only one in my immediate family who doesn't need glasses to see or read, and I am constantly on my computer in the dark, reading in dimly lit places, etc. My night vision sometimes scares me, but all the eye tests say that I still don't need glasses. Go figure!

People who believe stereotypes are idiots. But is that a stereotype in itself? ;-p

wow,2.0 for both eyes..That's awesome! I wear both glasses and contact lenses...it's a nuisance.
Hope you could enjoy every minute of your time.

You don't go around taking photos!? :) I am shocked.

Paul

Brown is my favorite eye color. HOT HOT HOT.

Must be nice to have better-than perfect vision. I've worn glasses since the 2nd grade. In the 9th grade I got contacts. I can't see s**t without them.

*smooch*

that's a really nice looking eye.

hmmm...how about the rest of your face? jason and i have spoken about it and we're both extremely curious to see what you look like. (~__^)

Yeah, I wear contact lenses too!!!!!!

My vision is corrected to 20/15 I think, with VERY strong contact lenses. So I hide my geekyness as well.

I vote for more of Shigeki's face too!

Haha you have nice eyes...single-lidded? It's hard to tell. And you had better get some sleep!

I almost failed my pilot health check because of my eyesight. The doctor told me I got in by minimum requirement for eyesight which is silly because there's no law restricting commercial pilots must have perfect vision. There'd be hardly anyone flying the planes in that case. Maybe for fighter pilots it would make more sense.

I also vote for more Shigeki bodily goodness!

P/s For someone who's not a native english speaker your comic writing is SUPERB! Loved the right-hand joke!

I'm a geek too, and I have a t-shirt that says "No, I will not fix your computer" because people are always asking me, when I go to their houses, to fix their computers. My computer at home is open and I'm too lazy to install an auxillary fan to cool down my processor, so right next to it is a box fan that I keep running all the time, so the interior of the case is literally caked in dust and dog fur, and drives and things are just hanging by their cables, and it's a total mess.

I've worn corrective lenses since I was nine, and I would LOVE to be able to see without them. If I weren't such a chicken, I'd get Lasik surgery.

Hi GaijinGirl,

Thank you! I will talk to the director tomorrow so I hope I will get some better picture about the feasibility. I will see how it goes but I came up with the most brilliant excuse to make sound so good about the voluntary resigning so I am hoping that will work! Stereotypes can be useful when you make fun of things but you have to be careful. :-0 Thanks for stopping by and you have a great evening!

Hi Leigh,

Oh yeah, 2.0. I've been always fascinated with glasses and contact lenses but I don't get to wear any of them yet. I was so dreaming my eyesight would go worse but huh.... I can still read things without wearing them.... that's kinda a feeling good eyesight people have... :-) You have a pleasant evening!

Hi Paul,

Well, it occurred to me I always have my mini digi cam with me everywhere I go. so I guess that prejudice statment just fits me... sigh. :-) You have a good day!

Hi EnviroBoi,

Really? Brown is your fav eye color? That's interesting. I find it pretty generic though. My fav eye color is gray. always gray. it's so dreamy and rare. :-) Since my eyesight is like this, I don't really appreciate it's nice. I should be punished but I tend to forget how great this is..... On the bright side, you get to change your eye color on a daily basis with colored contact lenses! :-) Have a great day!

Hi Raph,

Thank you. I don't hate my eyes. How about the rest of my face? Well, it can be ugly or pretty. either way. :-) You have spoken about it with Jason but more likely you have jested at it? :-) Well, I am sure one day you will get to see me. :-) But I don't wear a nice suit today so some other time. :-) You have a great day!

Hi Wayne,

So you get to change your eye color every day. that's awesome and I am very envious of you. I wish I could get color contacts to make myself variety..... You have a good day!

Hi Kevin,

Wow, your vision was "Surgically" corrected??? or did you do some image training or pray? I think i don't want to know the procedure if it was surgically corrected.... :-) Thanks for stopping by and you have a fantastic day!

Hi Will,

Well, it's hard to tell. When I am tired, my right eye can get single lidded. I wish I could get enough sleep but I've been living like this forever. If I get fired, I am sure I will sleep more. That's good that you passed your check! Whew. Otherwise, I won't get a free trip to KL anyway. :-) hehehe. I hope your eyesight will stay the same or get better in order to keep your status. Thank you for your comment on my English. I try to make myself understandable at least... :-) My goodness? well, me wearing C-2in won't be uploaded here. :P You have a pleasant evening!

Hi Mush,

Like you needed to tell me that!! I want that t-shirt as well. As soon as they hear I work for IT, they suddenly misunderstand that as if I could fix their computers while I am not a desktop support guy anymore. :-) I know how you feel. -) Don't leave too much dust on your geeky PC as it's open! But you already know that. :-) You know a lot of people with glasses or lenses tell me that but it's hard to imagine that as I've been fascinated with glasses and contacts. :-) But lasik surgery sounds very very scary to me.... :-) you have a wonderful day!

of course, we didn't make fun of your face! wherefore should we do that?

we're simply both very curious as to what you look like. you take photos of everything except your face.
