Warning! This may be a judgemental stereotypical post.Speaking of French, this is so outrageous. I don't know why I stayed up late last night. I am cranky. French tires.... please... Anyway.... I had a slight doubt for about 0.01 second when I was about to buy this watch at Hermes in Hong Kong earlier this month. That doubt was remotely noticeable in my head, and I decided that it wasn't any of my concerns. It was too exciting anyways!! I only wear this when I wear a suit to work or on other occasions. So far, I only wore this 7 times. Well, I wore it another time when I wasn't in a suit but it doesn't really restrict how you should wear this. Anyway, I had wanted this watch for a long time and got it earlier this month. But I kinda have started getting bored with this. The reasons why I have gotten bored with it are
- The unattractive guy sitting next to me had exactly the same watch as mine on the train last night. I instantly hid my watch with the sleeve.
- Hermes isn't a brand primarily targetting watches. Bags, baby. bags.
- I have been more fascinated with watches by Cartier.
- I have a Cartier watch but haven't worn it for awhile.
- I will probably buy this again when I become 35 when seems to be more appropriate.
I was so in denial until today but I admit it. It was a product of a compulsive purchase even though I had wanted this for long. I should've learnt it by now... What kind of brands you wear doesn't necessarily mean important at all. That sweaty old weirdo with the same watch on the train last night proves that. How you wear things would be important so it doesn't have to be a high end brand product. If you have well manicured hands, and if your hands are healthy looking, your $10 watch will look so much better than $3000 watch on some unhealthy looking sweaty wrist with long dirty nails. A guy with great abs in a $10 shirt would look so much better a guy with too many love handles in a $400 D&G shirt. However, it's sometimes nice to have fabulous things to look fabulous like Cartier. As this no longer interests me, I think I am going to sell it on my lunch break and I will probably buy something more meaningful and "lasting" at a duty free shop on my next trip. Lesson learnt. I don't regret it. Salut! mon perte! Au Revoir!
Wasn't it some kind of therapy, buying that watch? A guide/translator therapy session? SO it have served it's purpose then ;)
hehe. That was an expensive therapy session, indeed. I just went to the pawnshop on my lunch break and I was able to get more than I paid for this watch. So it wasn't all bad after all. :-) But I will not go to Hermes without thinking clearly next time. Thanks for stopping by!
