I started working on the assignment I got right after arriving Sendai. It's something new and challenging. After battling with this unfriendly electronic device which doesn't do anything good for my ruined Friday, I got to the point where I had to back up every data on it and it seemed likely to take 6 hours at least for it to be complete. I had some time to spare. I realized there was this incredible expensive gym on the first floor of this building. Since my company pays my expenses, I went down there and worked out for 2 hours. Is it me but guys here are very light skinned and smooth. I guess the water here does that. I am envious. (Not that I was only looking at them in a sauna room. I seriously worked out for the record) After work-out, I was so hungry but got paged by the U.S. team!! darn it. I couldn't go to a fancy dinner place. I went to 7-eleven to pick up some stuff to eat. I found "Ichinokura". Very Sendai. I know there is an alcohol policy but I picked up a mini-bottle. How could I not pick it up? Came back here to the office and had "Ichi-no-kura". You see three Kanji on the bottle? The first letter is "Ichi" meaning First or Number one. The second letter is "no" meaning "Of". The third letter is "kura" meaning vault or storage. So I guess Ichinokura means "The first storage room" or something. Okay, I shouldn't have translated it. OH man, my Friday has gotten slightly better with this. I think I laughed in the server room alone while staring at the device. I freaked out some Sendai office people here. I need to sober up...Hot coffee please.. I hope my work will be complete by 5 in the morning...
Ichi-No-Kura sounds like 'from our finest celler'?
Tsk, tsk, work-out yea.. ;)
Sven, I've never thought of that. But you may be right. It should mean something like that. The only problem is I don't seem to care the quality after three glasses of Sake. hehe.
I really have no clue, as I don't know japanese though :)
Then, your instinct must be damn brilliant, Sven. Thumbs up!
Good blog! I really love how it is easy on my eyes and the data are well written. I'm wondering how I might be notified whenever a new post has been made. I have subscribed to your RSS which must do the trick! Have a great day!
I'll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)
I truly appreciate this post. I have been looking everywhere for this! Thank goodness I found it on Bing. You've made my day! Thank you again
Hiya, I'm really glad I've found this information. Nowadays bloggers publish only about gossips and net and this is actually annoying. A good website with exciting content, this is what I need. Thanks for keeping this site, I'll be visiting it. Do you do newsletters? Cant find it.
Between me and my husband we've owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I've settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.
If you're still on the fence: grab your favorite earphones, head down to a Best Buy and ask to plug them into a Zune then an iPod and see which one sounds better to you, and which interface makes you smile more. Then you'll know which is right for you.
I'm so happy to read this. This is the kind of manual that needs to be given and not the accidental misinformation that is at the other blogs. Appreciate your sharing this greatest doc.
